“Picked this venue for a coffee after reading the great reviews and was not disappointed. Don't be fooled by the modest entrance, the shop is a visual cornucopia of artistic delights. The drinks arrived in cute, hand painted cups and saucers, with small wooden spoons and the coffees adorned with coffee art. We sat and took in all the amazing decor which was for sale: cups, small serving dishes, bags, spoons, a menagerie of small crocheted animals with some in key ring form plus so much more. It was a feast for the eyes and brain to take in everything that was on display. The coffee was equally good and hope to try one of the cakes next time. An absolute joy for the senses and would highly recommend.”

During our visit, we ordered the beef dupbap, salmon poke, and tuna poke, and each dish was a standout. The beef dupbap was hearty and satisfying, with tender beef layered over perfectly cooked rice, elevated by the café’s signature wasabi soybean sauce that added a subtle, savory kick. The salmon and tuna poke bowls were equally impressive, with fresh, vibrant ingredients harmonized by a spicy mayonnaise dressing that brought just the right amount of heat and creaminess. Every bite felt balanced and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the kitchen’s knack for blending bold flavors with comfort. To top it all off, we sipped on their latte, which was surprisingly excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. The inviting ambiance and friendly service only added to the experience, making Café Macarong a must-visit for anyone craving comforting yet elevated dishes near Kew Gardens. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!”

“Staff in this place are cool...its a good atmosphere and become our unofficial hang out after sessions at BARCH Richmond for a lot of the gum members. Nice coffee and food and they remember what your order is when you walk in. Enjoy!”

“Enjoyed lunch today at the Watermans.The food was really excellent and the portions were very generous.The pub has recently been renovated and they have done a really great job on the decor and ambience. We came here under the First Table offer so the meal was excellent value.The staff were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the gastro pub. “This is such a lovely cafe inside the swimming baths. You can grab a drink from an outside area where you just ring a bell and someone very friendly will come and serve you or if you enter the leisure centre you can go inside the cafe... this also has a nice green outdoor area with family benches if you would like to enjoy some nice weather in summer. The food is really nice! They have loads of variety of food and drink. Very suitable for children, with a children menu to. There is some tv screens that usually has something playing if there is an event e.g Wimbledon. They are really nice and will put on a childs programme if you come in with young children. They have a book table with a variety of books for adults and children to read.”

“Stopped by the other day and was blown away! The coffee was outstanding, which is so hard to find in London. Made me feel like I was abroad. Croissants were also spot-on, and the owner was so warm and kind. When you step out of the station, turn right, and it’s about a minute’s walk. “This place deserves much higher review points. Everything is perfect. Literally perfect It has been around many years. Feels so cosy with carpet and cushion decoration. Lighting and music really on point and good. Really helpful staff. Enough time between the meals. Had beef tartare and tempura squid and prawn as a starter. Burger and beef stroganoff for main. Cost around £60 per person inc service charge which is really reasonable for the quality they are providing. Thanks”

“This is the cafe in the heart of downtown Richmond. Everyone will pass by this cafe, so it is the ideal place to drink one of your coffees of the day. The friendly staff will serve you with a smile. The tables outside become breathtaking on sunny days since they have a place where the sun can see them. One of the few cafes in the area that serve espresso in its glass and no bigger, (espresso lovers will love it).”

They have a tapas lunch special during the day. 3 tapas for £13.5 The Smoked chicken croquettes were good, the king prawn comes with lots of chorizo though it doesn't quite come together, and the trio of mushrooms (3 types of mushrooms cooked/boiled together) was okay though excessively salted. Still worth the money but not high end though perfect for us as a small lunch meal for 2.”

“Booked a table for 8 people Thursday evening. Friendly greeting from 2 bar staff on arrival. Dealt efficiently with our drinks order. Shown to the table which was a square table - perfect for this size group. Our waiter was really patient, really cheerful and very helpful, double checking our order and checking we had drinks! Food was served efficiently, altogether and not too long a wait. Good food. Overall a good experience and would do it again. Thank you”

“Visited for Sunday brunch today, 10/7/22 and it was fantastic. Staff were lovely and efficient and it’s a really nice venue. Not sure why it isn’t busier! The brunch was brilliant. I’d definitely recommend the mushroom marmite eclairs - they’re addictive! Will definitely return.”
