“Absolutely gorgeous food! So fresh, really tasty and feels like the food from an independent restaurant. The flavours are just great, not processed feel and the standard is high. The chef has absolute attention to detail and the place seems very organised. We enjoyed our food and we will be back! I also had sea bass which was amazing. I also had some mash potatoes and I’ve never had mashed potato so good! It had so much flavour like olive oil and herbs. It was just too good!”

“My husband and I had been to this restaurant a few years ago for our wedding anniversary which was unfortunately cut short as our youngest son had an incident at school (he's SEN) and we hadn't really thought about it again until today. I had booked a table at a Mexican restaurant in Bexleyheath for my birthday and made them aware it was my birthday. I had turned up at the booked time to be told they had a private function and unceremoniously turned away with zero apology or acknowledgement of the trauma they had caused me! I was absolutely devastated but I saw the sign for Il Vesuvio and some new hope burned in me. Whilst the restaurant was fully booked the staff so kindly found us a table we could have for just under two hours and they treated us like royalty! We enjoyed starters and mains from the main and specials menu (we would have had pudding but we were full!) nothing was too much trouble and everything was gorgeous! I enjoyed whitebait and octopus, whilst my family enjoyed vongole, carbonara and calamari. Everything was piping hot, fresh and delicious and they even gave us some complimentary limoncello! I can't believe I had all but forgotten this absolute gem! Thank you for taking my day from despair to joy and I heartily encourage everyone to come to this amazing venue! Thank you so much for making my birthday so special!”

“Lovely place. I have been here a number of times, Jimmy and Sue are both lovely and put pride in their work. Food is always great and more importantly fresh, and I don't think I have had a bad dish! “Very nice interior after the renovation they had, smaller menu than before but I think that lets them focus more effort into making the food that's still there tastier. Prices are very affordable too, can easily get a full meal to feed 1 adult man for roughly £5-£8 depending on choices. Very friendly staff too, also I think an MP attended the re-opening, which was pretty cool too. All the food was cooked fresh right in front of me, and it only took less than 10 minutes for me to get tucked in.”
