The theatre was well-kept and spacious - the green lighting is also a nice touch and suits the show. Seats were comfortable and even in row L we had a good view of the stage and ample legroom.”

The landscaping is beautiful and as well as a cultural landmark this is a great local park and gardens for the community. Chiswick House is definitely worth a visit if you love nature, history and enjoy a beautiful setting for a walk. Child friendly with a modern cafe, it is also a short walk from the river Thames with beautiful walks down the Thams Path!”

“Went to visit an exhibition of incredible drawings and collages by Daria Hlazatova. The artworks were immediately available for viewing in the main hall, for free! The staff kindly showed me through to a couple of corridors that contained more works of art. Wonderful exhibition in a great venue, around 10 to 15 minutes walk from the station. Nice bar and seating areas indoors, with a lovely view of the Thames, and Hammersmith Bridge. Seating outside is available, but less seats, so busy on a nice summer's evening. 9pm curfew outside, which was disappointing. I will happily return.”

“Lovely English Heritage property that is the former home of the Duke of Wellington, now filled with artwork on the edge of Hyde Park. The 6 rooms upstairs, 2 on Ground, and 1 in the Basement can be seen in about 40 minutes, though longer if you wish to admire and read about the artwork more. It’s the former home of the Duke of Wellington (victor of the Battle of Waterloo), so there is a sense of grandeur from the dining room, ceilings, and general flow of the home - even if it’s now mostly artwork vs. furnished rooms. The artwork is quite impressive, with paintings by Velázquez, Rubens, Goya, and more. Both an audio guide and in-room books area available to provide more information about the pieces. The basement then has a one-room exhibition about his life. Seats are available in many rooms. Check the hours before going - it’s typically closed Monday-Tuesday, even in summer, then often only open in the weekend from January. No shop, though a few books for sale in reception. Toilets in the basement were fine.”

    The Albert Memorial

    ★★★★☆ 4.6 (4,084 Reviews) Top rated Open

“The Albert Memorial, located in Kensington Gardens directly opposite the Royal Albert Hall, is one of London’s most magnificent and symbolic monuments. Commissioned by Queen Victoria and unveiled in 1875, it honors her husband, Prince Albert, and stands as a powerful tribute to Victorian ideals of art, science, and global culture. The level of detail in the sculpture is astonishing. Prince Albert sits beneath an elaborate Gothic canopy, holding the catalogue of the Great Exhibition of 1851—one of his most significant achievements. Around him are sculptural groups representing Europe, Asia, Africa, and America, as well as symbolic figures of the arts, sciences, agriculture, and industry. The memorial is not only a historical monument but also a peaceful and beautiful spot for reflection. Surrounded by trees, flowers, and pathways, it blends perfectly with the beauty of Kensington Gardens. It’s especially striking in the golden light of early morning or late afternoon. If you're visiting Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, or the Royal Albert Hall, don’t miss this landmark. It offers insight into British history and the legacy of one of its most influential royal figures. A perfect spot for photography, learning, or simply enjoying London’s historic charm.”

    Bridge Theatre

“A Modern Gem of a Theatre The Bridge Theatre is a bit out of the way from the Tube, but don't let that stop you. The walk along the river, with views of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, is one of the best strolls in London. It's almost worth going just for that! We saw "Guys and Dolls" here - fantastic show, though heads up, it's a long one at nearly 3 hours. We opted for seats rather than the standing "immersive" experience, and I'm glad we did. The seats are super comfy, and I'm not sure I'd have enjoyed running around the rising platforms for that long. But hey, if you're up for an adventure, go for it! The theatre itself is sleek and modern - a refreshing change from some of the older West End venues. The sound and staging were top-notch, and (in my opinion) there wasn't a bad seat in the house. My tips: - Guys and Dolls - Book seats if you want comfort, standing if you're feeling adventurous and allow plenty of time - shows can be long. - Enjoy the walk there - it's part of the experience (so get there early and there are plenty of places to eat and drink before the show). - Check out the bar before the show - great atmosphere I'm already looking forward to catching more shows here. It's not just a theatre, it's a whole evening out in one of London's coolest spots. Definitely worth a visit, even if you're not a regular theatre-goer.”
