“I received a lovely warm welcome in store. It looked and smelt devine. It’s just so beautiful inside. I browsed happily in a relaxed unhurried way. I was offered help but preferred to look myself. This store has a great selection of brands that I hadn’t seen before. It’s a wonderful independent boutique that has so much to offer if you’re looking for something special or some elevated everyday wear. It also has some fabulous resort wear. I was looking for a shirt to dress up and wear with jeans. The Gate Boutique had the perfect crisp white one by Second Female. It is excellent quality, and beautiful soft cotton that looks smart. There were a few I liked and was able to try in a lovely curtained changing cubicle. It was really well priced too. The Gate gives great customer service with just the right amount of friendly attention without any pressure to buy. I came away delighted by my shopping experience and my perfect shirt which is my firm favourite now. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend popping in.”

Good staffing goes unnoticed sometimes, and no doubt unappreciated. A competent staff is one thing, but here, the staff are exceedingly patient and accommodating, and there is huge peace of mind in that.”

“I have been visiting this shop for many years. Gerard Darel clothes are well made and stylish and a very acceptable price point in comparison with other designer brands. Each season the colours are always very flattering. I am loyal to this shop partly because the Manager, Ilona, has given me invaluable help over the years.
