“Happy to make changes like putting some meat separate and some in a pitta which is really useful, when they are flexible about how the food is given to you and they aren't precious about a set menu. Only thing I'd point out to them is to make sure to use a set of tongs to turn the raw chicken skewers over, and once this is cooked on the outside, move to a different part of the grill and finish it off, by using another pair of tongs. You'd avoid any chance of cross contamination this way. Same goes for the pittas and wraps being warmed up - use another clean pair of tongs to avoid customers having second thoughts about their stomachs getting through the night ok..”

“I celebrated my friend, Jennifer’s birthday here today. It was her third visit, and Ejder immediately recognised her — such a lovely personal touch! He even made her a black paper rose, which was such a thoughtful and welcoming gesture. The birthday arrangement was wonderful, with a sparkler on the cake and the staff singing happy birthday. Ejder truly made our day special — thank you for such a memorable and enjoyable experience! I highly recommend celebrating your birthday here — the atmosphere is really good and perfect for special occasions.”

“I had a collection on Sunday. They were super busy but so friendly, polite and gracious. It was great to see my food cooked fresh and it was absolutely delicious. I’m so glad I found this place. I had Chicken Yakisoba with a medium spice level. Perfect!”

“The food here is always amazing. I have never had a bad dish. My favourite dishes are the Mango Flower Dumplings, Chicken Massaman and the Pad See Ew (which is one of their specials). The staff are very friendly and accommodating too. I would definitely recommend booking in advance because it gets very busy due to its popularity!”

“Lovely family run business. Very friendly. Lots of menu choices and willing to adjust menu items. Very generous portions. Soft fresh bread for sandwiches. Fresh fillings/toppings. Jacket potatoes recommended. Home-made soups available in colder weather. Can order sandwich platters for parties/work events, etc.”

“Best bar in Sutton! Good selection of beer and a selection of craft beers in the fridge. The roast on a Sunday is definitely a winner with really good portion sizes at a great price. Aaron and the team are fantastic with lots of great recommendations for craft beers and always give amazing service. There is a space available to rent for free for hosting larger groups upstairs and a small selection of board games available to play. The pub is dog friendly and has a doggo station with water and treats!”

“Excellent service from Maria (my previous review has gone so apologies if her name is not Maria) she was attentive without being over burdening, we had many tasty cocktails and shooters. We had visited as an off the cuff birthday, mainly for the cocktails tbh. The food was nice, the drinks great, the atmosphere amazing, the service excellent. Even when the birthday cake came out, which I hadn't expected. As an impromptu evening it was great and I look forward to returning with a larger group.”

The food was absolutely delicious, and the tiger prawns and Philly cheesesteak sandwich stood out as highlights. We were greeted warmly by the staff, who really went above and beyond, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was perfectly festive, and everything was spotlessly clean. “What a wonderful pub. It was fairly quiet when we were there but had a great chat with both the Guvnor and her daughter who have been running this pub for quite some time. The is quite a bit of space to move around in with a bar running parallel to the front of the building. There is outside seating down the side of the pub, but don't forget to say hello to their resident cockatoo as you go out. The Guinness was excellent as was the Courage Best Bitter.”

“Had another great meal at Lal Akash. This time I went for the Railway Lamb Curry and it was spot on, tender lamb, rich sauce and just the right amount of spice. You can tell everything’s made with care. The staff were lovely as always, and the place has such a warm, welcoming feel. It’s the kind of restaurant where you instantly feel comfortable. Definitely one of my favourite spots in the area.”
