“Went Sunday night and it was quiet inside but the food did not disappoint at all. This will now become my goto Turkish even though I live close to yaprak in eastcote I think this is worth the 20 minute drive for the better food. Price is similar. I thought the seasoning and quality of the meat was better. Next time I am bringing my kids to see what they think but I think they will agree”

We managed to get the last free table. It's not a fancy spot by any means; it has that classic, unpretentious British cafe feel, which was perfect for a relaxed breakfast. The menu isn't huge, but it has all the essentials you'd want. I went for the poached eggs and my friend had scrambled eggs on a toasty bagel. You can tell they use good ingredients. My eggs were perfectly runny and served on some proper thick-cut toast. The coffee was decent too – a good, strong flat white that actually tasted of coffee, not just hot milk. Service was quick and friendly, no fuss. The lady behind the counter was managing the rush really well and still had a smile for everyone. The best part is the price. For the quality of the food, it's brilliant value. It's easy to see why it's popular with locals. “A great pub in lovely country surroundings. They had indoor and outdoor seating. They came to our table to take our order, but also had an app. The staff are really friendly, it’s clean and roomy. For hiking, it was wonderful to have this pub on route. I would definitely recommend coming here.”

“I've been living in Watford for 12 years and this is the first time I've tried this place. All I can say is, it's outstanding, not just for this area but it's one of the best Fish & Chips I've ever had. The batter was perfect (so many places get this wrong), as was the fish and the portions are HUGE. My son had one of the equally massive sausages wrapped in bacon, again, very good indeed. The burger was an explosion of flavors and textures. The crispy chicken was coated in a sweet and spicy sauce topped with crunchy slaw and creamy mayo, it was one of the best burgers I had in years.
