“I was put off by some of the reviews but recently went there while waiting for my car at the local mechanic. The food was really very nice, Maashaa Allah. Alhamdulillah. Have been back 3 or 5 times since. The chicken and lamb tikka Biryanis are both good and the chicken tikka roll was actually one of nicest chicken tikka rolls I've had anywhere from the places in the surrounding area. The vegetable samosa are also excellent. Perfect crispiness and taste for a veggie samosa, imo. The keer (Rice pudding?) is also very tasty. I'm not really much of a foodie but I'm writing this like one because the food was surprisingly good. Good atmosphere, nice inside, very clean and good seating. Staff are excellent as well. Five stars all around for me. Forgot to add that the pricing is quite low too, comparitively, so good value for money as well.”

“I love Iceland. Their produce is good, bread is fresh, fruit and veg are fresh. The staff are very polite. The only problem i have is that they dont like using the 3 tills they have so it creates long queues!!! Their delivery service is excellent too. They are very rarely late and if they are running late the driver sends a message to let you know the time range he will be there. Its normally less than 20 - 30 mins.”

“Hidden Gem! - The decor may be a little tired but the staff, food and service are very good. Our son has a severe nut allergy and although there is only 1 or 2 dishes with nuts in, the staff make sure that the woks and utensils for his food are freshly cleaned before cooking his food. We always have adrenaline with him but he has never had any problems eating from here. Highly recommended”

“Clearly the best coffee shop, or actually a shop in wide area of Thornton Heath. Coffee is excellent, sandwiches too and decor is decent. Service is warm and friendly. Usually I get served by lovely Kaszia, who is very professional and quick at all times. Today Renata was there too, so what else to say? You've got some great team there :) All the best. V”

“Stumbled across this Gem a few years ago and it was great the flavours were fantastic across the menu with a variety of options. Highly recommended. Oh and especially great for family meals. Fast forward after moving further out me and my husband were craving those same flavours but unfortunately they were closed… don’t know if it was for a holiday or referb but we waited a few weeks to try again. We was hoping the menu hadn’t changed and it was exactly the same and hit the spot as remembered.”

“I recently tried the soup, chicken karhai, and roti from Swad Restaurant, and everything was absolutely delicious! The soup was warm and flavorful, the chicken karhai was perfectly cooked with rich, aromatic spices, and the roti was soft and fresh. Every bite was full of authentic taste and freshness. I highly recommend Swad Restaurant to anyone who loves tasty, satisfying food you won’t be disappointed!”

“I’ve ordered from Smacks three times in the past couple of days and honestly can’t get enough. The burgers are always a 10/10 – juicy, full of flavour, and that sauce is just amazing. The fries are really tasty and always arrive fresh, and the milkshakes are so creamy and delicious. Everything comes well-packed and still hot, which makes it even better. Definitely my new favourite place to order from!”

“Had a wonderful time at YahSo!! We booked a table. The food was on point, we had Ackee cigar (spring roll make with delicious ackee) & a callaloo (superior spinach) version. The spicing was excellent! For mains we had fish dishes… soooo good! Great portion sizes & sides of fried plantains, sweet potato fries & ripe avocado. Hmmmm, so tasty!! The birthday celebration that came with the dessert topped off the great caribbean decor & vibes… made the evening. Nice music. Highly recommended”

“LOVE IT best pizza takeaway near me i don't always have pizza but when i do I NEVER go elsewhere! i swear by this place - the one near me is so great i've even tried some further out. i am eating a margarita as we speak its so good. its warm its fresh its yum - its not too chewy or dry. it comes with my FAV FREE dip, its flavourful, the cheese tastes so nice. i always get the make your own as its worth the value (i add on SO many toppings) or i get margarita. i don't eat at other pizza places they're too greasy and this one isn't! love it id eat a pizza from here all day if i had to and i would even collab with them LMAO thats how much i love fireaway. ask my friends i always feed them these pizzas at parties and they have vegan and halal options for my besties :) nice seating area, lovely staff - i met the chef :) very sweet they even gave me FREE pizza once thank you ”

“A very good example of a high street kebab shop. The ingredients are good quality and the food is cooked fresh on an actual charcoal bbq grill, as opposed to a hot plate like some other places. I usually have a chicken shish wrap. Some places use cheap, flakey or gelatinous pieces of chicken or salad which is on the turn and going slightly brown but not this place. Here the chicken is proper, good quality, large pieces of chicken breast and the salad is all fresh. The cooking was great and not overdone or dry at all. Some of the reviews complained about delivery, which I can’t comment on, as I generally only collect in person for this type of food, as it usually doesn’t travel that well and is better eaten sooner. I’ve been waiting for a local, decent quality kebab shop to open up and finally we have one - this is definitely the place to go for this type of food, in Green Lane and the surrounding areas. The staff were friendly too.”

“We must have order at least 20 curries over the past 2 years and I can safely say that 19 of them were outstanding. Great variety, try the house specials...they are fantastic. Everything is cooked so well and the price is very reasonable. Having eaten in lots of curry houses across London, this takeaway is without doubt one of the best! Ps. “For me personally I thoroughly enjoyed my order from Maks! My food was very good and arrived on time. I'm actually quite shocked by the average stars! Some of these 1 star reviews I find pretty 'stupid' I guess because it really shows how some people don't care about the people unless they are the people. I genuinely find reporting small businesses disgusting. For one dish? Clearly people love it so maybe it's just because it's different to what you normally eat so that's why you don't like it. Anyways I gave Maks 5 stars because they've never disappointed me!”
