“Honestly, one of my favourite spots. Super simple place, the decor is fine, but dated. The staff here are extremely attentive and always incredibly friendly. The food, is out of this world, the chicken is always succulent and juicy, the lamb is tender and rich. All the accompanying foods are just as good. The portions are generous and delicious. I try to come here every couple of months. Super happy to support an honest and high quality establishment. 10/10 every single time.”

“Went here for my sisters birthday, we normally go Persian palace but as we are in the area, we thought to give this place a try. Service is as amazing, can’t remember the name of the waitress but she was professional, helpful and offered suggestions. Food was good, service good, chocolate cake was good and it was in a great location.”

“Visited Al Baik Restaurant (W3 6LE) on 19/10/25. Tried the Mixed Grill Al Baik with rice and chips, plus some hummus. Everything was super tasty! Generous portions and really friendly service. Definitely recommend!”

“This amazing Persian restaurant blew me away! The food was incredible - Mirza Ghasemi & Hummus with Nan were divine, and the mains left us perfectly satisfied, not just stuffed (a rare feat!). Service was fantastic - friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Finished with delicious chai tea & sweets - perfect ending! I highly recommend it - authentic, flavorful, and underrated!”

“I'm not a fan of Iranian food. But this place matches the taste of Maulana and other Iranian restaurants I've eaten at. The prices are reasonable and you can find free parking after 7pm on the single yellow line further down from the restaurant towards the town hall. The service was decent and polite. The food was fresh and tasted as you'd expect from a decent Iranian restaurant. Not my favourite type of food but I can understand the good reviews. The atmosphere reminds me of a dimly lit pub.”

“Had a wonderful lunch here with friends. I checked reviews online beforehand and was drawn to the delicious menu. The online reviews did not disappoint. The experience was more than I expected. Staff were very welcoming and accomodating especially Lina who served us and gave us recommendations on our orders. The food arrived within minutes and cooked to perfection. For our main we shared the succulent and tender lamb shoulder which came on a bed of white, red and biriyani rice accompanied with a stew on the side. The meat was so juicy and tender and fell right off the bone. Oh it was amazing and flavoursome! The whole ambience of the restaurant was relaxed and chilled with authentic music. I would definately recommend this place. I am definately coming back!”

“Delicious dinner with good wine. My husband wanted to go as he enjoys their burgers. I went for a Persian dish with lamb and aubergines that I hadn’t tried before. It was so delicious, the lamb was really tender and it was perfectly spiced. Also I had a large and very nice glass of Rioja which is worth asking for as it went perfectly with the meal. We shared a starter, each had a main, 2 glasses of wine and 1 beer. All excellent. We’ll definitely be back, keen to try their steaks.”

“From the moment I stepped into Istanbul Finchley, I was transported straight to the heart of Turkey. The restaurant's elegant yet welcoming ambiance sets the perfect tone for a delightful dining experience. Warm wooden accents and soft lighting create an inviting atmosphere, while the subtle aroma of fresh spices and grilled meats fills the air. The service was impeccable. Our server, Ayse, greeted us with a friendly smile and guided us through the menu with great enthusiasm. She was knowledgeable about the dishes and took the time to explain the origins of the ingredients and the traditional cooking techniques used. It was clear that the staff passionate about sharing Turkish culture and cuisine with their guests. The portion sizes are fairly big and the food is very filling. This is a must try!!!!”

“My first evening in London after a long journey I ate at HAWLER. This was the best decision I made that day. The restaurant is bustling with a nice atmosphere and very hospitable staff. I had the lamb and chicken tikka and before even ordering I already had received a complimentary bowl of lentil soup, which was very delicious and lovely to warm up from the cold outside. The meal was wonderful as the charred meat was rich, tasty and tender. The table was so full with all kinds of extras to eat with the meal, something I am not used to but enjoy greatly. Very affordable price, I would recommend anyone in the area to check this restaurant out. First and definitely not last time I am having Iraqi cuisine!”

“Recommended. Cold, rainy night, we were looking for a warm setting and good food. Mediterranean cuisine a plus. Pub food didn't interest us. The menu suggested a lentil soup, my bride's go-to comfort food. We decided to give it a try. The hour was early, we were seated promptly, and served up with some fresh bread and hummus. WARNING: The fresh bread is dangerous. I wanted to make a meal of it. The red lentil soup was a hit - hearty, satisfying. I had a grilled chicken fillet with basmati rice - delicious. We ordered wine with the meal, we enjoy a nice Pinot Noir. Closest they had was a Merlot and a Turkish red wine. Turkey makes wine? Decided to give it a try. I offered my bride a sip of the Kavaklidere Yakut Red. Smooth, low tanins, very satisfying. She liberated my Yakut, I drank her Merlot. Both were good. Very happy with the experience - would visit again.”

Everything about the food was absolutely perfect, the fresh and tasty salad, the superb mixed grill, and the Turkish tea to cap the meal off. The brother and sister team who served my wife and me were the nicest people, and the service was genuinely the best I have ever experienced in any restaurant. It was a perfect experience in all ways. We left the restaurant knowing we will always remember this incredible meal, the amazing service, and the lovely time we had celebrating her birthday. “10.11.2023 Came here with a friend and had some chicken beyti. Very nice! Doesn't make you feel bloated. Enjoyed the food. Have been to this restaurant before and visited again today with a friend. Ordered the Yogurtlu Adana and my friend went for the lamb ribs. Both dishes were delicious and meat was succulent. Brilliant service, decent prices and very quick! Thank you! Note to remember...they take cash payments only but luckily there's a Halifax next door!”

The spread was generous and beautifully presented from freshly baked simit and warm bread to rich cheeses, olives, honey with clotted cream, and a perfectly brewed Turkish tea. Every bite was full of authentic flavors that transported me straight to Turkey. The menemen (scrambled eggs with tomato and pepper) was especially delicious and creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The staff (Hatice) was very welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The cozy atmosphere and vibrant dishes made for a relaxing and satisfying morning. If you love hearty, flavorful breakfasts, I can’t recommend Aksular enough!”

“If you are craving a Turkish takeaway, trust me when I say, Efes is the place to order and nowhere else! You can trust this place for quality with your eyes closed. I have been ordering for years and it is consistently great. I am never disappointed. I ordered my favourite lamb ribs, you get 7 chunky pieces, they were fresh, meaty, well seasoned and cooked perfectly on the grill. Served with delicious Turkish rice done as it should be, the most delicious homemade chilli sauce which I love so much ( I must say my only complaint is that they don’t give enough of it, its too small for the meal). You also get a grilled pepper and tomato, garlic sauce, lovely bread and salad. The portion is generous and served piping hot. I just love Efes. When you think Turkish food think Efes ❤️”

“Just been today for the first time and absolutely loved it. The owners are very friendly and kind and the food is amazing. There's space to seat outside as well. You can go for breakfast as well as any other meal. They also make drinks. A shame I couldn't post the pic of the hummus but we were too busy eating it! Absolutely delicious!”

“I found myself warmly welcomed by the staff, especially as a rare Hong Kong local who truly appreciates their Indian cuisine. My brother had been eager to visit this place for a very long time, and I’m glad I was able to fulfill his wish. I’ve dined at this restaurant three times, and each visit has been consistently perfect. The staff are polite and attentive, and the food is always served hot. After paying the bill, they even offer orange slices and delightful candies as a finishing touch. They also took a photo for me and brought me water without me having to ask.”

“I normally read good reviews and having walked past many times, so today at lunch decided to finally try it out. I had the Cod and chips which is really nice, there Cod is always fresh and fried when you place your order never pre-cooked. The batter was crispy, the cod a pure white and chips were delicious. It was amazing to see 3 serving staff jostling to serve the next customer. I would defiantly recommend you try the fish and chips here at Firat which is seconds away from Bounds Green Station.”

“Extremely delicious. Best ever kebab in UK. Tried lots of different kebab shops,but couldn’t find the super delicious taste like this shop. I’m a customer since 2012. Highly recommend for who loves proper Turkish kebab. Also they do proper charcoal grill. Also they maintain good hygiene. You’ll never disappointed the money you spent.”
