“Great coffee and a cozy place to sit for a short time to drink it. Busy enough that this may not be ideal for longer coffee shop days or larger groups if dining in.”

“Best coffee in the Richmond/Sheen area! Not only that but they have an amazing Italian Deli attached. Owners are the most wonderfully welcoming people who really take the time to get to know their customers and make you feel so loved you can’t help but keep coming back. The closest I have come to an authentic Italian coffee house outside of Italy!”

“Absolutely incredible Italian restaurant. Every dish was so tasty, loved the music and the service was brilliant. Giuseppe made us feel so welcome and was great with recommendations. The pasta is all freshly made in house and you can really tell because it’s so delicious. The pistachio tiramisu is a must try!! Bottomless brunch is only £20 aswell, such great value; includes bottomless Aperol spritz and prosecco.”

“Hawthorn is 100% your new go-to spot in Kew/Richmond. For some background, everyone who I was with for dinner had previously dined at the Glasshouse at some point in their lives, so when we all arrived for dinner at Hawthorn, we were intrigued about how it would compare… AND WOW our expectations were blown out of the water. Not only did we each quite literally lick the plates clean, but we all felt that each course was complex yet also felt so simple and just plain delicious. We heard that the restaurant just opened a couple of weeks ago, but the food tasted as if the chefs have been cooking together for years. Whether you are there for lunch or dinner, either set menu is incredibly well priced (especially when the food quality is at this level). The sommelier is incredible, suggesting perfect pairings for each course to accommodate every taste bud or finding a bottle that works with a table of diners who ordered a mixture of seafood and meat mains! Conveniently it’s also right next to Kew Gardens station or a short walk from Richmond station - very easy to get to and definitely worth a trip. What an amazing new restaurant in Kew!”

“Stopped by the other day and was blown away! The coffee was outstanding, which is so hard to find in London. Made me feel like I was abroad. Croissants were also spot-on, and the owner was so warm and kind. When you step out of the station, turn right, and it’s about a minute’s walk. The kind of place you go out of your way to visit again!”

“Lovely coffee place behind the nursery. The coffee was great, Angel cake is also yummy. But the main highlight is the friendliest service we ever got in London (today morning, 16/9/2025 - I don't know her name, but she deserves all the positive feedback!). Thank you!”

“Really nice little café in a quiet neighborhood. It’s calm and peaceful, perfect for a slow Saturday or Sunday morning with a coffee and a book. Not crowded, just relaxed. “This is the cafe in the heart of downtown Richmond. Everyone will pass by this cafe, so it is the ideal place to drink one of your coffees of the day. The friendly staff will serve you with a smile. The tables outside become breathtaking on sunny days since they have a place where the sun can see them. One of the few cafes in the area that serve espresso in its glass and no bigger, (espresso lovers will love it).”

“I’ve been visiting this lovely café in Putney quite often lately, and it’s become one of my go-to spots in the area. The atmosphere is calm and inviting never too noisy, just the right place to relax, read, or catch up with friends. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and there’s a genuine warmth in the service that makes you feel welcome every time you walk in. The coffee is consistently good, smooth and full of flavor. You can tell they care about quality; every cup feels freshly made. But what truly stands out here is their banana bread it’s freshly baked every morning, perfectly moist, and has that subtle hint of cinnamon that makes it irresistible. It’s simple but absolutely delicious, and no surprise that it sells out quickly during the day. Beyond coffee and pastries, the food menu is also impressive. They have tasty brunch options and light meals that are fresh, well-prepared, and nicely presented. Everything feels made with care rather than rushed or pre-made. Overall, this place has a really nice vibe great coffee, fresh food, and genuinely kind people. Definitely worth a visit if you’re around Putney!”

“Nestled near the serene Kew Gardens, Café Macarong is a cozy gem that delivers a delightful mix of comfort food with a modern twist. The menu boasts an array of crowd-pleasers, including dupbap (a Korean rice bowl topped with flavorful ingredients), poke rice, and crispy fried chicken, all crafted with care and bursting with flavor. During our visit, we ordered the beef dupbap, salmon poke, and tuna poke, and each dish was a standout. The beef dupbap was hearty and satisfying, with tender beef layered over perfectly cooked rice, elevated by the café’s signature wasabi soybean sauce that added a subtle, savory kick. The salmon and tuna poke bowls were equally impressive, with fresh, vibrant ingredients harmonized by a spicy mayonnaise dressing that brought just the right amount of heat and creaminess. Every bite felt balanced and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the kitchen’s knack for blending bold flavors with comfort. To top it all off, we sipped on their latte, which was surprisingly excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. The inviting ambiance and friendly service only added to the experience, making Café Macarong a must-visit for anyone craving comforting yet elevated dishes near Kew Gardens. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!”

The customer service is exceptional—staff are friendly, attentive, and always greet you with a smile. “Picked this venue for a coffee after reading the great reviews and was not disappointed. Don't be fooled by the modest entrance, the shop is a visual cornucopia of artistic delights. The drinks arrived in cute, hand painted cups and saucers, with small wooden spoons and the coffees adorned with coffee art. We sat and took in all the amazing decor which was for sale: cups, small serving dishes, bags, spoons, a menagerie of small crocheted animals with some in key ring form plus so much more. It was a feast for the eyes and brain to take in everything that was on display. The coffee was equally good and hope to try one of the cakes next time. An absolute joy for the senses and would highly recommend.”
