“I really liked this local Turkish restaurant. Food was standard Turkish but well done. Pricing was fair. Service excellent. The reason for the 4 stars for the atmosphere was the noise level. It might just be my bad hearing, but I struggled with the conversation. I recommend this place.”

“I have been many times to this restaurant over the last 25 plus years. There is a set price evening buffet menu available, which was £15 per person the first time I visited, this has now risen over the years to £26.90. A very good selection of starters and main courses are available. As long as you finish any ordered food, there is no limit to what you can order. A pad and pen are on the table to write the dishes you would like to order. My favourites are the starters, especially the selection of ribs. The crispy duck is excellent. If you have room, there is a very good choice of main courses to choose from. I have never had a bad meal here, or had bad service. If you like Chinese food, this is a must visit place.”

“I had a takeaway pizza from here a week ago & it puts ALL the other high street pizzerias to shame, as authentic an Italian pizza as you will find. Beautifully cooked, fantastic mozzarella & full of flavour. We were so pleased with it we gave the restaurant a try last night & were just as happy. Good food, good wine & friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back soon.”

“Such incredible food... I hired Colombo Kitchen to cater for an event I did at the National Archives, we ordered the Lamprais for 20 people which was exquisite... Not only that, but they went above and beyond to get the food over to us on time after I'd made a mistake about the timings. I called and they sent it in an uber right away an hour earlier than I'd originally asked... amazing service, really responsive and more importantly, fantastic food. Everyone who ate the Lamprais commented on how delicious it was. Couldn't recommend more highly :)”

“Excellent service from Maria (my previous review has gone so apologies if her name is not Maria) she was attentive without being over burdening, we had many tasty cocktails and shooters. We had visited as an off the cuff birthday, mainly for the cocktails tbh. The food was nice, the drinks great, the atmosphere amazing, the service excellent. Even when the birthday cake came out, which I hadn't expected. As an impromptu evening it was great and I look forward to returning with a larger group.”

“This is by far the nicest Chinese I have ever eaten. We went for the buffet. The lady that served us also cooked some of the dishes and was so helpful in showing me everything that was gluten free on the menu. I was blown away with the amount of options I could choose from and she even cooked my dishes using gluten free soya sauce. I have never been so comfortable eating at a Chinese restaurant. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. We will be back very soon.”

“I have eaten in this restaurant with both family and friends for a number of years and at least twice a month. The food and the service is always excellent which is driven by the passion of the owner and delivered by his excellent staff. The atmosphere is always jovial and the staff are always willing to give advice on the dishes that they serve. As a person that entertains clients, I rate the Brasserie as one of the best restaurants in our area and probably one of the best in class.”

“I have moved about a year ago to this area. I have tried few Chinese takeaway shops and most of them have been very disappointing however, Chinese Canteen does not disappoint and every time I have ordered my food has been amazing and the price is good considering others charge ridiculous price and the food turns out rubbish. I thought they only did in person order as I couldn’t find them on Ubereats or Deliveroo so I’ve not been ordering lately unless I am in the area which is not often especially now it’s cold. I accidentally discovered I can order from their website and I have never been happy. I highly recommend it. :) food is delicious. Don’t get me wrong customer service could be better but I understand that is just how they are so I won’t hold this against them as my food is prepared well and it’s delicious so it’s worth going just for that!”

“I really enjoyed the base, like I said it was a stonebaked crust which was easy to eat and didn’t make you full and bloated. It certainly makes a very good pizza with a totally summer bbq vibe that is perfect for a night in, especially with the horrible rain we have had this week. I would completely recommend tasting this pizza!”
