“Visited Giggling Squid - Chistlehurst for the first time today. This restaurant is beautiful and the decor is light and fresh. The food was very nice. We ordered starters of the crispy squid bits, north eastern papaya salad and money bag dumplings which were all very tasty. For mains, we ordered beef massaging curry with coconut rice and prawn pad thai all very delicious. The only criticism is the Thai Ice tea was on the smaller side and ok for taste. The service was nice and friendly. Also, slightly overpriced but food was very good. There is parking in bays right outside but it is charged within certain hours Monday to Saturday. Overall, I would definitely recommend and will be returning.”

“Angelika is an excellent waitress, she’s super friendly, attentive, patient, speedy and really helpful. Food is full of flavour and perfectly cooked. It’s also very good value for money, especially when you use the Zizzi loyalty points. Will definitely be back again!”

“Wow.... Just 11 minutes from ordering online via their website to receiving a knock on the front door. Genuinely surprised when I heard the knock as the drive takes 2 minutes minimum. Vegan wings were decent as well.”

The menu looked irresistible and did not disappoint! Very high attention to detail and beautiful presentation paved the way for a delicious culinary experience (menu attached). Owned and run by a lovely couple I cannot recommend highly enough this wonderful cafe and occasional restaurant. Every item is simply exquisite and I am so glad I booked. Every course was lovingly and delicately presented with pride in a super chilled and leisurely alfresco restaurant. Simply delightful and highly recommended.”

“I've been coming to this fish and chip shop for over 10 years, and it's about time I left a review! The quality has been consistently excellent over the years – perfectly crispy batter, fresh fish, and generous portions. The chips are always hot and golden, just the way they should be. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick, even during busy times. It's hands down the best chippy around, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommended!”

“As a now regular to this restaurant, i would defoliate consider this the best Indian food in chislehurst. The papadams are delicate and crispy; served with a sweet yoghurt mint sauce, a jammy mango chutney and a small diced salad. The samosas are always steaming hot and have a thick layer of crisp pasty met with a explosion of spices and fluffy vegetables. They are always served with a pomegranate reduction sauce.The mixed grill is one is sensational. Perfectly cooked tandoori meats all enveloped with deep marinade and so tender. The soft shell crab was crispy, flavourful and buttery. It’s only downside was it tasted a tiny bit fishy. The lamb jalfrezi is large chunks of juicy lamb with a curry sauce that has immaculate flavour. Garlic chilli prawns are a staple at ginger and spices and in my opinion the beat item on the menu and the best prawns i have ever had. But be were; the are not mild”

“I didn’t have food but everyone food looked great. I enjoyed two espresso martinis at the bar and they were amazing, I asked for extra sweet and they did not disappoint. I’ve worked in hospitality all my life and struggle to find places that hits all the spots that I look for. This place definitely delivers on atmosphere and service.”

The food was really great and I would highly recommend anyone from families to couples and single travellers like me to visit and enjoy the experience here. “Very Friendly service and nice relaxing atmosphere with delicious food, dessert and drinks. Our table was regularly checked to see if everything was okay and everyone was very attentive even though the place got busy very quickly with many regular guests. We also met the owner and his wonderful wife who made sure they visited every table and greeted the guest to see if everything was ok… it’s wonderful to see how much they care and appreciate their guests. Definitely worth a Revisit and try the Gurkha 660ml Beer.”

“Father's Day lunch here today. Through no fault of their own they were understaffed but the team did a fantastic job of picking up the slack and looking after their customers. Food was excellent (highly recommend the triple roast and the smoked salmon and fennel salad) and we will be returning. Service by Dee was first class. Thank you!!”

“Wrattens Caffe is a true hidden gem of Chislehurst High Street. In fact, it is so well hidden at the back of a clothing shop (not a bad one either by the way!) that only a few locals are aware of its existence and visit regularly. I've been delighted being one of these few for years, but this morning, enjoying an amazing chicken and bacon melt toastie with some great coffee, I felt rather sad that your typically blunt and tired Costa next door was booming with visitors, while only a few tables were taken at homey and delicious Wrattens. So here you go, time for my best-kept secret to stop being one. Give yourself the most Chislehurst experience one can think of, visit Wrattens Caffe, have a chat with its loveliest staff, have a walk around the shop while you're waiting for your food to materialize on your table. All that knowing that every penny you leave there supports the community and its people, not Coca-Cola Corp. Why, didn't you know Costa belongs to Cokes? Well, now you do, so turn left on that doorstep, choose Wrattens next time you're around!”
