“The Oak is a fantastic Chinese takeaway, I've never been to the restaurant itself but every time I have ordered from them it has been a fast delivery and always a friendly face. The food is exceptional and the portions are quite generous (if you're missing the Hot-Wok that closed on colney hatch lane a few years ago this is a perfect alternative). Overall great food and a lot of different menu options, highly recommend.”

“I ordered food here from Deliveroo and I just had to give a good review. I got the dimsum platter mixed for one which had a great variety. I got a spicy beef ramen which was flavourful and actually spicy! Also the portion size for that was really good too, enough for two. I also had some sesame balls which was a nice sweet treat in the end that wasn’t too sickly sweet. Really good quality food and will definitely buy from here again !!”

“After going to many different places in London to have a pizza, my wife and I have finally found the most delicious pizza ever! The pizza which they make here is far better than the others. We strongly recommend pizza Napolitana to anyone who loves the authentic pizza. The service and the atmosphere is very nice, and the chef is very pleasant and happy to feed you.”

“After trying jollof, I was in love with Nigerian food. I have tried Nigerian food at lot of places but Ijinle stands out and considering its close to where I live, it’s so convenient. My favourites are soup, jollof with beef and dodo.”

“We just came out of this feeling super full and satisfied. This is our second visit as I lobe their Chicken Katsu Curry. I tried sushi today and it’s yummy! It was super busy when we arrived and nearly ended up having take away but one of the staff, Elina, managed to accommodate us. She is super sweet, attentive and looked after us well. I would be bringing my friends and family around next time. Five stars for food, atmosphere, service and beer!”

“The last time I enjoyed authentic Satay Chicken, cooked to perfection on a charcoal BBQ with proper peanut sauce, was at Satay Corner, a delightful Hawker Centre in Singapore. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely husband and wife team, and our waitress, Tara, was outstanding. They made us feel like part of the family, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing with energy. We started with every Satay skewer on the menu - the sambal and peanut sauce were absolutely incredible! We then had the curries and their fried fish, finishing off with banana fritters for dessert. Wow, wow, wow! I will definitely be visiting again. It's wonderful to have an authentic Balinese restaurant right on our doorstep, offering a taste of something epic and local, without needing to venture into London.”

“This place is great. The service was superb my wife and I felt welcome and like home. The food was delicious. We ordered: burrata, mushroom cream soup, king prawns in garlic sauce, beef lasagne, and cremé caramel. We also had the house wine from Sicilia. Toilets and kitchen looked and were clean. There were several tables for 1-2 people, and many other for medium parties 6-8 people. We were given a shot of lime liquor at the end. The only negative aspect of the visit is seeing some flies inside, they were annoying. Sadly, this part stuck in our heads. Maybe they could be more careful with the back door.”

“Popped into in today and shared a bowl of nachos with my wife, absolutely the best nachos I think I’ve ever had. We opted for pulled pork and guacamole. All the ingredients were fresh and vibrant. Will 100% be back to sample more from this menu. Apologies for not taking a photo before we ate it but I didn’t think it was going to be so good so hopefully the picture still shows how great it was.”

“We absolutely love this fish and chip restaurant and have been going there for many years. The food is delicious, the staff wonderful - in particular the lovely Ella. The owner Sam is the kindest and most gentle man and we love Sema and Ben whom we have known for many years. We often joke joke about biting a table on an annual basis and often friends and family join us for dinner too. You will not be disappointed if decide to try it.”

“The most unbelievable Caribbean take away, love this food, keep looking for good places which isn’t the easiest living in Barnet, but usually really disappointed , finally tried here last night and the food was absolutely top drawer, Curry Goat was so good, so much meat (not just bone like some places), and fresh tasting, jerk wings.....rice......all REALLY REALLY good, and this is coming from someone who complains about everything!!! Highly recommend it, can’t wait to finish off mine for breakfast. Will be a regular customer from now on. Delicious.”

Word or warning though try to hold back on the starters so you have space for the main course. Food range and quality better than the average Chinese restaurant and very reasonably priced. “All the way from Essex, we were staying in a local hotel for the weekend and decided we wanted Veg Thai food. I must say we have had Thai in many places, but this place was so authentic, and felt homemade. Highly recommend the Pad Thai Noodles, Tom Yum, and Tom Kha soup. Generous Portions & Amazing Staff.”

“Wonderful service and delicious food we had this Sunday evening. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. After speaking to the owner Sunday is a very very quiet time. I would highly recommend this wonderful establishment. They do not have a drinks licence so if you want alcy, bring your own. Fish tikka as a starter was amazing. Everything else delicious.”

“I have been ordering take away from here for many years. My go to dish is Chicken Madras. I’ve tasted this dish in numerous other places and it has NEVER tasted as good as curry leaf. All other dishes are great too. The food is fresh, non greasy and of a very high standard, especially compared to what I have experienced elsewhere. The owner himself is so pleasant and friendly, holding good relationships with all new and existing customers. I would highly recommend to anyone. 5 stars all round”

“Only had a tenner cash - asked for their suggestion for food which understandably is a big ask. I got a delicious sweet and sour main as well as a fried rice for just under ten pounds. The food was amazing, service was amazing for accepting my request, and last of all I spent no more than 5 minutes waiting for my food. Good £10 well spent.”

“This small mom and pop take-out shop serves good Chinese food that will not alarm or confuse local appetites. Been back a few times and it has not disappointed yet. However they only accept cash - no cards. Looks like they do a decent amount of delivery too. Friendly staff.”
