“We had our daughter’s christening party here over the weekend and the team were absolutely amazing. A huge shout out to Amber, Rod, and George - you truly went above and beyond!! The food was fantastic — so many of our guests commented on how delicious everything was. From helping with preparations and decorating, to sorting out drinks ahead of time and even organising the music, you made sure the whole day ran seamlessly. We couldn’t recommend The Royal Oak enough for a special occasion. Thank you so so much for making our celebration so memorable! — Sarah & Tom”

I tried already 3 times , the lamb chops amazing , the polo Milanese amazing but I have a request: bring back the fillet steak . I don’t like the ribeye steak so please do that but the rest is all good . Guys if you didn’t try yet I promise you is the best place to eat in Watford . “Visited today for my mums birthday - we booked last minute after a change of plans. We had 3 courses and every single one was delicious. Highly recommend the Sunday roast and the sticky toffee! The service was great - special thanks to the two young guys (I didn’t catch their names but a really young lad and the barman with plaits) for looking after us. We will be back!”

“As I walked in I was welcomed by a lovely man called Micheal made me feel welcome in this gorgeous pub he’s got a heart of gold. I came in on my own he still made me feel welcomed and not outnumbered and we had a very good chat and a great laugh I highly recommend the one crown”

“Great little pub in the centre of Watford which isn't just part of another chain franchise, so a rarity! They've recently don't up the beer garden which now has to be the best in town, good selection of beers and ciders, reasonable prices, nice staff, just a really great pub!”

The food was good and reasonably priced, living up to the Wetherspoon standard. The place was clean throughout, and the washrooms were surprisingly well maintained, which isn’t always the case in busy pubs. Overall, the place is aesthetically pleasing and well looked after.
