“Really appreciate Wigan hospital! After going to 2 different hospitals knowing something was up with my 5 month old baby and her chest sucking in and being told it’s “viral”. I went to Wigan after being recommended by 2 different people and Wigan hospital saw my little girl almost instantly with a short wait and told me she has Bronchilitis. The nurse took the time to explain what it was and what to expect with it and how to help her with her symptoms- I felt listened to and the nurse stayed to listen about my concerns rather than rushing me. I will be using Wigan from now on.”
“really good staff nice all round care”
“Me and my husband have been patients here for a long time. The reception staff are really helpful and polite. Dr Ronke is amazing, I can't say enough good things about her, she's the best Dr I've ever seen, I probably wouldn't be here if it hadn't been for her. Annie the nurse is brilliant, you couldn't ask for better. Both are so patient and caring, I'm so glad their there.”

“I had an amazing experience with jenny at my appointment last week. I would 100% recommend her for any aesthetics work. I have been getting treatments done for well over 10 years, nothing compares to the results jenny gave me. I was a bit nervous and she made me feel very comfortable, relaxed and was great to talk to! I am so happy with my results. Thank you jenny, Your amazing!”
“Got booked in for implant removal. Sarah and Mussarat were very professional and made me feel at ease! Thank you for the wonderful service.”
“Receptionist staff at Hudson are always lovely and accommodating. Met with Alan and Bonnie frequently, they’re always so friendly, welcoming and helpful.”
“Honestly I love this GP. Everyone seems to complain about the receptionist but every time i’ve been in there i’ve never had an issue at all they’re all very kind and friendly and very well clued up too! There’s great doctors at this practice- however there is a very small minority of doctors maybe 1 or 2 that you would have to be very unlucky to get. Careless, dismissive and unhelpful - however once you know who to avoid cough Dr Watson cough and find a doctor you get along with and who cares which is most of them tbh, you will have a good experience. I’ve had a really tough time the last month and have had many appointments and they’ve always been so helpful and reassuring. Actually left one of my appointments with a smile just feeling so grateful for them helping me and being generally so lovely. Dr Price is the best i’ve come across she’s the best! I literally never write reviews but I was curious what other people thought and was genuinely shocked. The emergency appointment system is much better from when they used to make you log onto AskMyGP at 8am. Now you can call anytime from 8am to around 12 noon and then that’s when they will start to triage all of their appointments in order or priority for that day. Much fairer, don’t have to be first in the queue just have to have a priority issue. Even routine appointments are quite good now too, longest I waited for an appointment on a routine basis was around 14days. Good for a routine appointment. The late evening appointments eg at 19:30 are a really good idea and very helpful. Only downside is the pharmacy is closed at those times so you’d have to wait till the following morning to pick it up from the pharmacy downstairs. Overall great practice par the couple bad apples.”
“Experienced one of the worst times of my life and got sent to this ward on a section. It was tough in there, had a few strange experiences which I won’t go in to detail! The staff were fantastic, they all deserve a medal especially Sandra who works so hard to keep everyone happy, and made me feel less anxious in there. Rachel (Edna!) was also a great member of staff too and not forgetting Nick. I’m a carer myself so I understand how difficult the job can be. Thanks to all of you for helping me recover from a very low point in my life and I wish you all the very best in the future.”
“I was at one of the lowest points of my life , struggled to keep my self safe . Felt a failure to loved ones and self . Moorside unit helped to save my life . Am so so great full for their input . Without it I would not be here today . My children have their mother . Thank you Moorside unit”
“Had a wonderful experience. I was referred by my GP and they got in touch via post within a couple of weeks and I had a telephone assessment shortly after. The woman I spoke to was very kind and understanding and referred my case for more long term support. I found the call very helpful thank you”
“I’ve have used this surgery for 10 years and every member of staff has been fantastic. I have just moved to a new area and hope that my new surgery is as good.”
“The walk in centre Nurse Harriet is such a asset to this unit. Nurse Harriet is Very polite, calm and understanding. Also a very quick result from triage to xray and then the results. Made the visit in terrible pain not seem daunting. Thank you for your care”
“Went in on Christmas eve to A and E. I can honestly say, from the A&E/ Majors and then onto the MDU I have never felt so confident that I was in such good hands. The doctors, nurses, care workers , porters were fantastic.”
“Very surprised to read some of the poor comments on this excellent service. I have had 2 kids go through this service and I have honestly never seen such consistently high levels of professionalism, compassion and empathy. I understand that when your child is sick, it is easy to get upset, scared and emotional. These are normal reactions, particularly when mental health is concerned. However my experience is of a high quality service delivered by deeply committed professionals. I’d like to mention in particular Mr K Singh, Ms J Lowndes, Dr. Knott, and all the other practitioners that supported both my kids over the years. Thanks to their support, my kids are in much better places than they would’ve been. It is true that NHS waiting times to access CAMHS are extremely long, and I agree that this aspect of the system could and should be better. However, once families are seen, the quality of care provided should not be overshadowed by wider systemic pressures that are beyond the control of frontline staff. Our experience has been one of genuine care, skill and dedication, and I remain very grateful for the support my family received.”
“My whole family have been with this practice for over 10 years. I am very happy with the service they provided. The doctors are very professional and patient with my 2 special needs kids. The nurses are friendly and willing to listen and help. The booking system did change after pandemic, but if you phone on time you will normally get an appointment. There will be a waiting time for the phone call to be answered but you will be told your waiting position. Thanks for everyone who works extremely hard. All of your help and effort are much appreciated.”
“Went with my husband to Halton urgent care centre this morning, who said they couldn’t deal with the issue and he would have to go to A&E at Warrington. We arrived just before 9 o clock, expecting a long wait. My husband was seen by 10 different people, from taking bloods and blood pressure, triage nurse, x-ray, specialist. All sorted out by 11 am. Excellent service could not have asked for better. I appreciate that anyone requiring an hospital bed would have had a significantly longer wait, but we should appreciate the good work the staff are doing and the pressures they are under, give praise when due, not just criticism.”
“Very helpful staff. All departments spoken to were attentive and friendly”
“So often we hear stories about how bad the NHS is, but not enough about the good. I can’t thank the staff on T3 at Oldham Hospital enough for the compassionate care they’ve shown my mum over the past three weeks. They have truly gone above and beyond. Sister Collette, the nurses, physiotherapists, HCAs, meal staff — every single member of the team has been incredible. Their respect, care, compassion, dignity and support for both my mum, myself and my nephew has been outstanding. This team deserves to be recognised for the amazing work they do, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you Denise’s family”
“I attended the eye clinic last week with an urgent follow up appointment. I arrived early and was met by a lovely, friendly receptionist. She immediately put me at ease. Shortly after I had my eye sight tested by a nice man. I was then called in by Josh for scans, who again was very friendly and welcoming. After a few more minutes I was seen by the consultant, Mr. Grassi. He was very professional and polite. The whole experience was absolutely brilliant thank you.”
“I would say it’s a good place iv got someone called Mike and I trust him he’s very nice to talk to and try’s to find solutions I think everyone giving this place 1 star is wrong there there to try and help ye it might not work for u but they try and that’s all u can ask just be respectful”
“This is the first GP I've really loved being with, and as someone with multiple chronic conditions I couldn't praise them highly enough. This does mean I have experience with many Drs which can make communication easier for me, but I find all the team here perfectly reasonable. I also will say you must request appts through the app at 8 am as is generally standard, but no phone waits. I have had multiple conditions diagnosed here that are infamously under-diagnosed and ignored, for example especially with regards to female hormonal health. These are conditions I have spent up to 10 years visiting GPs about and bring turned away. The even use local anaesthetic for IUD insertions, before I requested! I have never found any of the doctors here dismissive. I've seen Dr Kandola, Dr Chaudri, Dr Hamza, Dr Collabella, Dr Chhoangalia, Dr Cooper, maybe even more. But I could not highly enough praise Dr Kidd. Both the care she offered and bedside manner were far above standard, and made some pretty horrific experiences absolutely tolerable. She does not sugar-coat either, she is truthful about what is uncomfortable and helps you get through it. Hailey Daniel has been fantastic to see as well. Both these staff have been very thorough to answer my questions and make sure my consent is informed. My meds get regularly reviewed. I get contacted about my necessary jabs. Script refills are done VERY promptly through the app too. The standard of GP receptionists in England seems to be dire, but I've always found those at the Arch to be pleasant and as helpful as they can given the NHS systems in place. They also have an option where you can keep your place in the phone queue for a callback, which I find great. I may often wait 10 mins for my appointment, again a factor of NHS conditions I believe. For Christ's sake they give out free fruit, I don't think they could do better if Jesus himself came down to heal the sick.”
“Oldham Children's Hospital. Amazing!!!! I am so shocked reading the bad reviews. Children are here to be brought back to health..so what if you have to wait 4 hours in a&e or have to wait 20 minutes to be buzzed into the unit. Your priority should be your child. How can anyone complain that the adults don't get fed? This is not a hotel!! How can anyone complain that the staff are lazy when they work 14 hour shifts?(Maybe that person should get a job!!!). Oldham NHS staff we will be forever grateful for the care of our son and all the other children in Oldham that you have cared for. Luckily you are all well educated enough to not take the bad reviews personally. Keep being amazing xx”
“Dr Adam was very welcoming, he was very welcoming and made me feel properly cared for!”
“I'm quite shocked at some of these reviews. My 9 year old accessed this service and we both found it really helpful. Not sure if I am able to name people, but our case worker was absolutely brilliant and just totally 'got' my daughter! He came up with some strategies to help my daughter copy with her anxiety day to day. I never expected my child to be 'fixed' but she has definitely learnt slowly to deal with her anxiety as part of her personality and is now able to use coping mechanisms with the help of the adults around her.”
“I walked in at 8am and was given a same day appointment for 10am. I came back at 10am and within a very few minutes I was seen by Dr Anwar. She carried out a comprehensive examination and prescribed a course of treatment. Dr Anwar also contacted my pharmacy so that the medicine would be ready as I arrived there 10 minutes later. Within 24 hours the medicine was having a noticeably beneficial effect.”
“I had reason to discuss my medication I put in a request for the pharmacist and I received a call from Zahid Iqbal. He was very patient and listened to what I had to say, which was a lot. He asked questions regarding the issue and was very thorough. I have spoken to him previously and he is very friendly whilst being professional. He came up with some good suggestions and I was happy and pleased with the outcome. I feel he's a valuable member of the team. Thank you.”
