I just wish I had a bigger appetite so I could try everything on the menu all in one night........oh and the food is probably half eaten in the pics because it just had to be dived into and eaten. “Such a great experience at Melis Restaurant Whitefield! The atmosphere is modern, stylish, and very comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. We tried a few different dishes, and everything was perfect. I got the option that lets you try 3 dishes in one meal, as well as their beef and vegetable momos. I highly recommend the broccoli stir fry! Serving was generous and I had to take home some of the food I wasn't able to finish. Not disappointed at all and would definitely go back if I get a chance.”

The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it was lovely and clean. It was my 8-year-old's birthday and the staff made him feel so special. They brought out his cake with a sparkling candle and happy birthday music playing. He loved it!”

We kicked things off with the starter platter, and honestly? Every single item stole a tiny piece of my heart. Fresh, bold, nothing hanging around in the kitchen too long—the dishes landed on our table quicker than my nephew spots Pidgey (my pet pigeon) on the bannister. Then came the lamb shank… unbelievably tender. It didn’t just “fall off the bone”—it practically handed in its resignation. Silky, rich, and cooked with the sort of patience I wish my smart meter had. My wife’s dishes were just as impressive. Every bite looked like it transported her somewhere peaceful—meat and chicken both juicy enough to make you rethink every dry dish you’ve ever tolerated in life. I didn’t manage to grab photos of everyone else’s food, but trust me, the table was full of happy faces and clean plates. If you’re thinking about coming here for dinner, do it. The food’s on point, the service feels natural, and the décor gives the place a warm, modern charm. Fully recommend.”

“Just been there for dinner with some friends on Sunday, the owner (sorry I forgotten his name) just sent us a pizza that we have not ordered, and he said “this is free for you guys, simply because I love your glasses, very special and looking good on you.” No way what a compliment to me!! “This place deserves 5 stars. Firstly upon entering the place was greeted by such a lovely and happy Chinese lady. They really do treat you like you are a valued customer. However regardless of this the food. Out of the hundreds of Chinese takeaways I've tried around the uk the food is the BEST. For my order I was told there would be a 15 minute wait. Yes they really did cook everything fresh. Even when I entered the building the lady was making something from scratch. When I got home the food was unbelievable. Sweet and sour chicken, the chicken batter still crispy it was so fresh. And it literally melted in my mouth. The ribs, crispy and extremely meaty, full of meat! The homemade spring rolls were the nicest I've ever tried. Unreal. And everything else we ate was just so fresh and full of flavour Another amazing thing, I didn't get that extreme thirst which you usually get from Chinese takeaways - most likely since the food is homemade and not from packets or jarred sauces. And lastly, pricing. I mean the prices are like they were years ago. Usually a £45 order cost us £29 today I honestly wish that this place gets the recognition it deserves because it really is the best in every possible aspect. Thank you so much pearl garden. “Appropriately named “home Chinese”, I felt like I was eating at a friend’s place, but in a good way.. Attention to detail was great, my waitress Amy, was an absolute dream, she gave the best recommendations and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I would eat here again, it’s so good to find a place that has good food, good service and good prices. I only managed to take a picture of one thing as I was too busy eating by the time the rest of my meal came through!. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience.”
