“First time in here and it's a lovely local pub, friendly staff, very clean throughout, TVs to watch the sport on and a beer garden outside just opposite Heaton Park. Good range of beers and some sambucas I had never heard of but were lovely as shots.”

“I really enjoyed the food. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. I got the mix grill for 2, and it was more than enough for me, my wife and 2 kids. The owners are great and made us feel very welcome. The decor inside is stunning and the food is fresh and really tasty. My little kids even got lollies at the end. “Got there at lunchtime and it was lovely and quiet. I went for the standard carvery and the other half had the chicken burger. The carvery was lovely and fresh with good sizes of meat. The chicken burger was good, apparently, but the coleslaw let it down. All in all a good quick stop off for a lunch that was hot and a good size. The cake slices were huge!”

“Pubs a cool laid spot, you wouldn't expect much of the food by the look of it but it really punches above its surrounding some surprising things on the menu and really well cooked. Don't go semi full, every time I've eaten here I've waddled out. Beer selection is good and staff have always been really nice. Carvery on a Sunday is impressive. Again better quality than you'd expect by the surroundings.”

“Couldn’t fault our visit here. A cosy busy spot great for families. The atmosphere is lovely and the outdoor seating is perfect when the weathers good. The food was also on point. Portions are massive and at amazing value. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and it was surprisingly very good! Will happily come again.”

“Very good pub owned by Manchester Metropolitan University and run by the student union. The pub is a tap for the Bollington Brewery and had five cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating most of it covered.”

“This is the first time I have ordered from here and the food was incredible! delivered early, the portion sizes are great. the meat is perfectly cooked, the wraps look homemade and are beautifully thin and light, the salad was very fresh and the cacik is absolutely wonderful.”

“We used this venue as a campervan stopover. Which was mostly OK. When we arrived to pitch up the parking area was pretty well at capacity due to a Bowls match, tis cleared after about 2 hours or so and we were able to pitch up. As this was free we decided to meet with my sister and partner and my son. The 5 of us had a pleasant meal in the pub which we enjoyed. I would suggest that the proprietors consider putting an outside drinking water tap and marked bins for waste recycling. I have no doubt that we shall be visiting again.”

“Super workplace coffee shop in Exchange Quay. Easy to drop in for coffee with a group - never a long wait and very quick service. Great quality coffee, and 50p off when using a reusable coffee cup. Many other options such as alternative lattes and teas. Also new cakes & pastries available each week. Small seating space downstairs, or large benches and sofas for groups upstairs.”

I did not attend but Google assumed that I had and listed my review for the Gait inn at Millington I'm error. So this is to correct it. No fault of the Gate which I will attend next time I am in their location. I'm sure it's fine but I only post about my experience not Google errors.”
