“Been attending this school for several years, in which time I have passed Advanced 1 Ballet (IDTA) - as I am 59 next month, this speaks to the excellence of the teacher. My daughter and twin granddaughters also attend, the girls do ballet, tap, theatre, modern and gymnastics. Barbara Newcombe is a brilliant teacher and it's a lovely studio.”

“Me and my 15 month old absolutely love coming here! There’s no harsh pressure if your child doesn’t want to join in, the class just continues. We have so much fun going! It’s an hour long on a Friday morning at 9:30 Jacksdale community centre, a short 5 minute break half way through for a chat and for your child to have a snack! Vanessa is amazing with the children, and so friendly. Lovely little group! Thank you Vanessa ❤️ Sam and Sienna x”

“I was a student at Theatretrain Nottingham for 12 years and I can honestly say some, if not all, of my best childhood memories took place at Theatretrain Nottingham. The opportunities that are given to ALL of the children, such as performing in world renowned venues like The Royal Albert Hall and Disneyland Paris are life changing for the students. You feel like you’re part of a family and I made life long friends from being part of the group. I LOVED going to Theatretrain Nottingham every Saturday and wish I could turn back time so I could once again be a student here!”

“I came across the Nottingham Day Nursery and Preschool some time ago and I liked everything I saw on the website. Although I was quite certain it was going to be out of our price range, I recently booked a viewing. First of all, it turned out to be the cheapest out of all of the nurseries we have seen, moreover it is the only nursery that apart from meals and snacks also provides free nappies and wipes! Finally, it is the only nursery that offers settling in days over 8 weeks which makes me feel more at ease and more confident in gradually increasing the number of hours instead of throwing my daughter in at the deep end (most of the nurseries offer 2 days 1-2 hours each day). My first impression was very positive, place looked clean, organised and it had a nice flow between the rooms. The baby room was warm and bright, with different 'stations' set out with activities for babies, the sleeping area looked very cosy with fairy lights on to create a pleasant, soothing ambiance. It felt like a warm and comforting environment, each member of staff welcomed us with a big smile and each one of them seemed to be very caring, nurturing and supportive. The nursery manager, Krupa went above and beyond our expectations! During the viewing I was very impressed with her professionalism, dedication and passion for running this nursery and ensuring that all of the children are taken great care of and that they all thrive and are prepared for school when the time comes. We hardly had any questions as she explained everything in detail. I could tell that a lot of hard work has gone into making this nursery into a nice, warm and friendly environment as it is! All the babies and toddlers looked happy and like they had a lot of fun which speaks for itself! We felt really taken care of! I felt so calm and reassured and I think my daughter is going to really enjoy her time there! I could not be happier that we managed to get a place for her at this nursery! If her stay is going to be as positive as the first impression then it's going to be great!”

    Hollygirt School

“My son has high-functioning ASD and SEN and had been bullied at a previous school. He attended this school and completed slightly fewer GCSEs, but to a very high standard about 3 years ago and moved onto A levels. It's a lovely small and pleasant school, that provides an education environment that supports a more tailored education, considering the needs of individual children. The tutors and almost all of the teachers are very supportive and caring. The school is very inclusive, providing small class sizes, and differing classes that support the learning experience of a wide range of abilities. The small size of the school adds transparency and they take bullying very seriously, work to discourage this type of culture, and deal with any reported instances in a timely and effective manner, with consideration for all concerned, rather than paying lip service to this on the website! A great school for a well-rounded education for children, who will have the opportunity to make a peer group of friends. It is well worth the fees!! Great national, and international trips if you can find the cash for that too. The wool blazer can be a bit prickly and looks a bit like a Christmas tree, but you can always talk to them about that or have a note from the GP if this is a problem and that will not be an issue either. Good luck to you, it's not been an easy road for my son, but this school was a real find and we will both treasure the memories and support that we received at the school. The High and Grammar provide buses/coaches you can use to get your child to the school and this works very well if you live a distance from the school, as we did. It's a shame they cannot provide A levels and the transfer to the next school can be an issue and worth getting started on an EHCP with Hollygirt if your child requires that support because follow-on schools can be less accommodating in the provision of much-needed support without one compared with Hollygirt. Most children seem to enter a main steam college and these seem to be good at catering to a wider range of abilities and SEN, so look around at all the options and never give up! I can't recommend this school highly enough.”

    Simply Dance Nottingham

“As I work, study and workout from home, I wanted to try something new which was out of the house and I'm so glad I did. After researching many activities online, I narrowed it down to yoga and dance. There aren't many adult dance classes around, and the ones I found were kinda fancy and expensive. I just wanted to find somewhere welcoming, friendly and fun, and I definitely found that here. When I arrived I was greeted by multiple friendly faces, which was lovely as I was so nervous especially after not being around too many people since covid. The business owner and dance instructor were so full of beautiful and positive energy, and when I left the dance class I felt the best I have done in such a long time. I was energised, had a great workout and I actually signed up to the classes on an ongoing basis! Very excited to go back :)”
