“I come down 4-6 time a year for work and have always stayed at the Lodge (approx 8yrs). This is a small family run business. They always go the extra mile and make me feel so welcome. Food portions are great and cooked to perfection. There is a small car park and one Electric hook up. They have a nice little garden area where you can sit outside on a good day. Definitely recommend it.”

I woke up to two strangers claiming to be my husband and little boy. Not a chance! The men in my house now look sophisticated and smell amazing! Joking apart, you have done a superb job. It is apparent that the haircuts suit each of them, and my husband's beard trimming makes his appearance well-turned-out and dashing. He says the hot towel was incredible and soothing, and the smell was gorgeous. My little ones hair is both stylish and on-trend. As a result, he will look good on his days out during the school holidays and when he returns to school next week. Lastly, the price is very competitive. It is also helpful to see reasonable prices when we all find it difficult to make ends meet in the cost of living crisis. This is especially critical for families in similar circumstances. Out of work due to severe illness and disability. We will return to this barber shop again. It is a great place to get a haircut and a beard trim. Plus, barbers are friendly and patient with customers, which is especially relevant for children.”

“We stopped here for breatfast on our journey to go biking at sherwood forest. The breakfast was really nice, freshly cooked and a amazing cheap price. We bought some homemade cakes and the kids got to pick some 1p sweets for later in the day. The owners are lovely, they are a village shop/cafe so call in and give them your trade, it was only 6 miles away from the sherwood forest. As they are small they don't have a toliet.”

“My daughter and I had afternoon tea here yesterday. It was really nice. The food was fresh. Good selection of items for afternoon tea. Beautiful Teashop and lovely staff. The owner was very nice and accommodating. They also do theme nights, which I'm sure we shall be back to join. The menu was great for other occasions. Breakfasts and lunches, or a drink and a snack. The shop itself was decorated lovely, with indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs were also welcome. Set in lovely surroundings in a park. We will definitely go again.”

“I have left a review before and was really happy with our meals. But I wanted to do a special update. We got married on the 6th of September 2025 and decided to have our reception at The Gate in Langwith. Phil, Denise and the staff were fantastic, listened to what we wanted and had no issues with my requests. On the day we turned up and Denise had decorated the tables in the orangery beautifully. The meal was at the very high standard we have come to love from the chefs and could not fault any part of it. All our guests said it was a beautiful meal and it made our day even more memorable. “Went to Barracuda tonight for the first time and it was STUNNING. One of the only places in Mansfield I've known to sell Savaloy which was absolutely delicious. The chips were incredible and very fresh. The servers were also incredibly friendly. I definitely will be coming here again!”
