“Really good pizza and proper food value. We ordered a very large order a few weeks ago (17 pizzas) and they all arrived hot and prompt and no order errors! Today my husband and I ordered and they missed to bring my drink. When they phoned us to apologize we said it was fine but they insisted they would bring it out to us and they even brought us a complimentary dessert too. Really good service, our new fave takeout I think!”

“We had a meal at pizza express tonight for my daughter’s birthday . In total there was 12 of us . We were looked after from start to finish impeccably, the service was top notch - which is hard to find at many places these days . The starters and main pizzas arrived all in good time , the table was constantly cleared of used plates and more drinks offered frequently . The food was all 10/10 , hot , no mistakes with any orders and all left to feel like our custom meant something to them . The deserts were incredible too. All in all - fantasic !”

“We had a fabulous trip to Hollywood bowling. It was well priced compared to its comparable competitors and offered additional discount for those bowling prior to 11am which suited us with 3 young children. The staff were attentive and welcoming and helped when the system broke twice (simple fixes and didn't impair the game so we simply carried on). The toilets were clean and adequate. The access was great for a pushchair and therefore good for a wheelchair plus accessible toilet with baby change facilities. There is also a well thought out arcade with lots of variety of games/ experiences. They also offer food and drink which seems nice and well priced (for this kind of place). If we lived locally we'd certainly visit regularly. The vip section looks good We'd definitely consider this for a special occasion.”

“Kanu Poke Imagine eating in a work of art and tasting wonderful, exciting gastronomic delights! Welcome to Kanu Poke in Shrewsbury. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a smiling George who was one of the co owners. On commenting about the on-trend decor, he explained that the artwork was designed and painted by his partner Katie. We were a tad early but it wasn't a problem. Seated upstairs in a great window seat we really felt like we were on holiday. Surrounded by colorful murals we were hoping that the meals were going to be as good as the decor. We weren't disappointed. A pleasant server greeted us with some tasty bites and took our drinks order, when they arrived they were colourful just like the decor. The nibbles had set the tone for what was about to come. Popcorn Chikanu and Teriyaki Tofu as starters followed by the Crispy Tofu Sunflower Satay and The Mexicana. We also had a refreshing pan seared teriyaki vegetable medley. Wow, the flavours were unbelievably tasty and fresh and the service quick. What's more it's Vegan, Gluten and Nut free. It's the perfect place to eat plant based flavoursome food. What a find. Keep up the good work!”

“This is the best pizza you'll ever have! The pizza was absolutely delicious. The price was amazing also, what a bargain! Its made fresh there and then and the staff were professional and pleasant. It only took about ten minutes from ordering to walking out the door with the boxes.”

“The food was impeccable, genuinely don’t have a complaint about the food. The service however was very slow. We waited 35 minutes between starter and main, it wasn’t even busy and then it took them 15 odd minutes to bring the bill over. My only complaint. Food was great.”

“We were on the lookout for a spontaneous dinner and drinks spot and were pleased to stumble upon The House of the Rising Sun. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood out—they made sure we were accommodated even though we didn’t have a reservation. Since it was a last-minute night out, we ended up seated at the high chairs, which were a bit uncomfortable, especially if you’re dressed up (like in a tight shirt dress). The interior design is impressive—stylish and atmospheric, though a little too dim for dining. It feels more like a place that’s tailored for drinks and conversation. One standout feature is the bar with its aquarium-style backsplash—absolutely eye-catching. We tried the Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Katsu. The katsu was excellent—crispy, flavorful, and definitely best enjoyed with rice. The beef, on the other hand, was slightly chewy and not as tender as expected. For drinks, we had the classic Mojito and their signature cocktail, Land of Smiles. The latter was a highlight—refreshing with a unique spicy kick that really elevated the experience. Overall, The House of the Rising Sun is a lovely spot for a date night, especially if you’re after a cozy ambiance and creative cocktails. We’d definitely go back—hopefully with a reservation next time!”

“We've eaten twice at ASK in the last couple of months. On each occasion the food has been outstanding. There is a lovely chilled atmosphere but the service has been fast, efficient and charming. Cheruannah is a star! We will definitely be back soon. Great value overall”

“Went here for a relative’s 40th birthday. Lovely space on the first floor for big parties. The pizzas and pasta are delicious here and very well priced! Authentic Italian food. Service is superb, we had someone who wasn’t happy with their order, didn’t realise it would be so plain and the staff immediately bought out a difference pizza on the house - never seen service like it! Very good restaurant and plenty of tasty sounding dishes on the menu! Highly recommend, nice little Italian in the middle of Shrewsbury! I had the garlic chilli spaghetti which was delicious with a nice strong kick!”

“I have been buying pizza from Al Piccolino since the 80s when I was a small child, it was a treat then and still is. I don’t live in Shrewsbury anymore, but I make a point of ordering from here whenever I’m in town and I am yet to be disappointed. A true Shrewsbury institution, I absolutely love this place. Thanks for all the great pizzas over the years.”
