“My parents opened this shop in the mid 1950’s and we lived in the flat above, no.3. All of my childhood memories revolve around here up until I was 10 years old. The store’s name then was A&J Pickerill, we didn’t have a car and my mum would walk with deliveries every lunchtime to customers. My father was able to start the business thanks to a loan from Sir Frank Sanderson who lived in the Manor House down the lane (now converted to flats) where he is buried in the private family plot at the church. My father was chauffeur to Sir Frank before that. I believe the loan was £3,000 but I might be wrong. It was interest free and repaid within 3 years.”

Her courtesy and pleasant demeanor were notable, even when dealing with agitated customers. Lesley handled a variety of complex issues efficiently. She remained organized and composed under pressure. Asda should be so pleased and proud to have her as a member of their front facing staff.”

“Only just opened, but a great addition to the Worthing beer scene. The town has been crying out for a good bottle shop and this place answers those cries. So far I've sampled the German style beers on offer, which have not disappointed. The owner is highly knowledgeable of the subject matter and pointed me in exactly the right direction when I asked rather opaquely for 'things I had in Berlin'.
