“The Chestnut is a well stocked pub on the popular Craven Street with a car park on Hearsall Lane. Pool and darts bar on one side, larger bar on the other, and a garden. Landlord knowledgeable and friendly. Can get busy for some sports events on TV and or term time but the waiting times are good.”

Visited sunday 8 dec in pouring rain so wanted some comfort food the nursery tavern sunday lunch did not let us down as one of the best dinners ever tasted lovely tender meats all fresh veg and yummy fluffy roast potatoes . “I booked the private room for a family get together of 24 people. The team communicated really well in advance which was really reassuring. They were very attentive on the day. “Came here for a roast dinner and it was lovely. The roasties and Yorkshire puds were excellent. There was fast service and lovely staff. Manager was so friendly and waiters were so lovely. Drinks were very good. I can’t stress enough how lovely this pub is and how massive the garden it’s such a sun trap. Best pub I’ve seen in a long time. Definitely would recommend and I will be bringing the family here.”

“Was welcomed into the Saxon Mill Warwick front of house to have dinner so really glad we found it. The atmosphere was cosy and well designed decor. We received a good service from the team. The food was cooked to a high standard and the lamb was well done as requested. The restaurant was clean and being this was our first time in Coventry for a Special event was grateful that the Saxon Mill team welcomed us in to dine without a booking with the same food choices as the restaurant area. I recommend the Saxon Mill as a lovely place to done with family and friends lots of available free parking. Thank you Saxon Mill team”

“Visited for early evening meal after finishing trading on a market stall for the day. Had a lovely turkey and ham hock pie which definitely seemed home made, stuffed with filling and the lashings of extra gravy was delicious. Really friendly young waiting staff. Will definitely return.”

“Stayed here whilst in the area at BP pulse live and gotta say the staff were fab… phoned the morning of too ask over early check in as it was a long drive and they were marvellous at accommodating this… The was one minor issue but nothing to make a fuss of and again staff always happy to help The room was great but the views and quietness for me was really what finished off the place highly recommend”

“This is a very good venue for performances of music and voice. The acoustics of the main hall hardly need reinforcement by amplification other than for an MC. There are plenty of rooms for rehearsal or preparation, and for the audience there are good facilities including two bars. There is enough room to enable different configurations of seating and performance layout. There is adequate parking space available for performers and audience. The building appears huge, well appointed and maintained, welcoming to all visitors.”

“We attend weekly when we can & always have an amazing time, particularly impressed with security keeping an eye open making it a safe place .. ie no dancing with glasses in hand etc Toilets always clean. Bands booked are always a great variety & bar prices very reasonable! Staff always been very courteous & friendly”

“Went for Mother’s Day and had a nice lunch. Shame the price inflates so much just because of this day, same food different day. Pie was good, pork belly not crispy and a bit of a let down. Desserts were good, chocolate & salted caramel tart was nice. Service was slow, had to ask for drinks and the bill multiple times. Not really an excuse being Mother’s Day, it’s expected to be busy. Would try again though.”

“Went in on a Saturday afternoon, not too many people in but they had football on the tv and the bar staff was friendly so we ordered an all day breakfast 1 classic and 1 large. The food looked fantastic and was hot and well cooked with plenty on the plate ( compliments to the chef ). We will definitely be coming back here to eat again. “Really good family pub. I don’t normally leave reviews unless I’m particularly impressed and I am here. Ticks all the boxes, play area, colouring and crayons for the kids. A decent pint, nice traditional but well kept decor with indoor and outdoor background music. The food is really good and incredibly cheap & great value. The icing on the cake is the staff and service. Young well mannered and helpful people who are a credit to the establishment. Well done, We’l definitely be back.”
