“Massive b&m, took me over 1 hour to pick and choose what to furnish my flat. They do everything from lawn mowers to TVs! Staff are always amazing and very helpful and always ready to help!”

“I really like Wyken Slough, any day of the year there are birds to be fed. I often see rare birds perched on logs protruding from the large pond. There are benches all a long the circumference of the pond, which allows for pit stops if needs be. The best part about this place, is the forraging. There is plenty to forrage, in the winter I was able to make jam from fresh damsons, bullace, rosehips, sloes and apples. If you venture into the overgrown trails beyond the pond, there is plenty to forrage and explore. I often see the odd burnt out abandoned motorcycle or trolley in bushes lol. Another good thing. is there are Horses to look at, you aren't allowed to feed them but if you go to the fence they will come and say hello. There are two distinct downsides to Wyken Slough, One: If you make the mistake of going during school pickup hours, the car park is absolutely packed and it's hard to get in or out, also people are all irritable. The only other issue, is youths on motorbikes and quad bikes like to use the field behind the pond as their track, when it rains you can see oil come up from the ground, in all the puddles. Not to mention the risk of anti-social behavior, although any sign of the police seems to make them leave. 4/5 :)”

“We had a ladies mini golf break to Ardencote. Afternoon golf, dinner, shared room, breakfast buffet, more golf. Great location for a mixed age and ability group. Course is very flat and not particularly interesting but suited the needs of our group and our texas scramble comp. One lady hired a buggy. The spa facilities were lovely. We all agreed that the hotel and the dinner were great. I thought the staff were particularly helpful.”

“We came to Brownsover Hall tonight on their soft opening night. We have really looked forward to seeing the hotel come back to life after is declined under its previous owners. To say the new owners have redeveloped the hotel is an understatement. They have improved the hotel incredibly and turned it into a uniquely beautiful boutique hotel. The welcome was fabulous, the receptionist Alice was very pleasant and smiley, as were the bar staff and Adam we anssume F&B Manager was very welcoming too. In fact we spoke to a number of members of staff and all were friendly and welcoming. Harry served us and he was knowledgable and helpful and again exactly how you would want a high quality establishments staff to treat you. The food was excellent, the flat iron steak cooked to perfection. The other dishes we had were fabulous too. The tarte-tatin is most definitely worth waiting for. The ambience of the restaurant, Scott’s, was awesome and has as with the rest of the hotel been lovingly and skilfully interior designed. We will definitely return after such a lovely experience. We’ve used this hotel many times in the past and it is now another level. The new owners have created a wonderful experience. Well done on creating such a beautiful environment.”

Ali is also great at posting “pupdates” so we know how our animals are doing every day. “Took my 4th trip with Caspin Journeys . They arranged a trip for 10 of us ladies from the Chicago area. This one, as were the others, was fabulous. All the Lodgings, Restaurants, Tours, and Countrysides were more than I had expected. Pino and Caroline try to accommodate any requests for food preferences, and go out of their way to provide local foods and and drinks to get the feeling of the local regions. We even got to meet Caroline’s Mom and Dad. The guides were so knowledgeable and fun too. Wish I had taken an extra bag to Scotland to bring home some of the beautiful cashmere….Hoping to plan my 5th trip with them in 2 years.”
