Terrified of dentists due to a couple of bad experiences in the distant past (school dentists). From the minute I received a call within a week of referral the team put me a ease. They were lovely & reassuring. On the day the receptionist really encouraged & settled me as she could see I was nervous. The extraction was performed by Mr Yasser Safdar. & it was done brilliantly. He was kind & gentle & talked to me throughout about the process so I was distracted. I can honestly say that apart from the needle, I actually never felt a thing when the tooth was pulled. It happened so quickly & the after care by his assistant was great. What a lovely caring friendly team at Etwall & Mr Safdar was amazing. I would definitely recommend them & in fact best dentist appointment I have ever had.”

“I cannot fault the care and attention received at Derby Children’s Hospital. I arrived at A&E yesterday with my son who was having some pains. We were seen almost instantly and the staff in children’s A&E were absolutely lovely, friendly and attentive. My son was triaged before I even parked the car (he’s 12) and send straight through where he was seen after around 10 minutes. The nurses called the surgeons to examine him and within 1 hour of being at the hospital my son was being prepped for a surgery. 2 hours later and he was in surgery. Every single member of staff we encountered was pleasant, kind, compassionate and not once did we feel like a job or a burden. We were on the Puffin ward for the night following the surgery and again it was clean and friendly and we didn’t have to ask for anything. Staff were always one step ahead. The doctor came to say goodbye and wish us well as the shift changed and the anaesthetist came 2 hours after his shift finished just to say good bye and check on my son in the ward. From A&E staff, nurses, doctors, carers and the brilliant anaesthetists and surgeons - you are all heroes. The care my son received was outstanding and as a parent I could not ask for more. My son is home and recovering well now but a huge THANK YOU to Derby children’s hospital.”
