“Beautiful walks, cafe, with plenty seating outside too, in lovely open courtyard. Good quality food in the restaurant. Excellent shopping, and scenery wonderful.”
“Had the most amazing driver called Colin and he was most lovely guy. Took me an extra journey at the end of his shift a few weeks ago and completely made my day as I had a university assignment due and was limited in time. He showed such kindness which really paid off”
“Lovely place the toys outside for the kids to play with the dogs and being able to sit outside with my family was so relaxing and the staff where very friendly and the coffee and treats where great too will definitely come back.”
“A landmark public swimming facility, originally built for the 1970 Commonwealth Games and recently refurbished. Its distinctive brutalist architecture houses an Olympic-length pool and diving facilities, representing a commitment to public sport and modernist civic design in Edinburgh.”
“Fantastic park to let your four legged friend run around. Our dog loves it.”
“What an absolutely lovely couple. We felt welcome from the time that my husband and I walked into the Guest House. I celebrated my 50th birthday there and they made it even more special with a lovely bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room on our return from breakfast. I would thoroughly recommend their guest house, it is clean and modern and not far at all from the local amenities. There is a bus stop just to the right of the guest house and the buses are very regular. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Ted and Dot they helped make our time in Edinburgh even more special.”
“20plus stars they need. Wonderful people run this place. Greatest to stay in Scotland. Easy transportation. Everything leads to Edinburgh. Grocery store Morrison nearby. You'll meet many cultures here. French to Germany, Africa. Breakfast is long lasting. You'll enjoy Ewan and his wife. Allow them to know your dietary needs. The garden is great. They have wonderful dogs.”
“Gladstone house is in a fanstatic location to the city. The acvomodation and breakfast were exceptional but yhd best part where the brilliant couple who run Galdstone very welcoming and friendly . Thanks for making out stay so good ,will defonately book again”
“Unreal, classic, masterclass of a local pub. The tall, handsome bartender made sure to handle all my distinguished needs and wants. Highly recommend to any true pub goer. We will be back. TFG”
“Absolutely phenomenal place to stay. Couldn’t recommend anymore. We requested a double bed and we were given t with no issue. Also requested early check in through booking.com as it is usually 2:00. That was carried out for us also no problem. The decor is just stunning. Rooms are large, bathrooms are very small but for a few nights definitely is adequate. There’s Netflix in the rooms as well as kettle and a hairdryer, no bath but an amazing shower. Got free breakfast on the morning and all only cost £70 which is brilliant for the area. Free parking, shopping centre a 5 minute walk away, bus stop across the road that gets you right into the city centre as well as the most friendly host you’ll ever meet. So much better than going to a big branch of hotel. Instead give them a miss and go to this lovely little guest house, save your money and have the most amazing time with hosts to aid your every need.”
“My dog is particularly cheeky and evasive so i was sceptical about the security of a place like this. I can honestly say we'll be back. No frills, secure massive space for a wee dog! We loved it, good price too.”
“The Coach and Horses is under new management - it's a dog friendly, welcoming local with a good range of live music, karaoke and fab jukebox. Recommend a visit.”
“I stayed here a few months ago now. It is a really nice place. Room was wonderful, clean with plenty of space. The breakfast was lovely too. The surrounding area is beautiful. The owner is very nice and makes you feel at home. I would recommend and stay here again.”
“A great cafe good food good drink well worth the visit”
“Great place to hide from the rapidly approaching fog, the people in my walls say otherwise as the want me to embrace the fog.”
“Staff were delightful and everything was socially distanced. Fab to be able to get a lunch out for my dad's birthday and take our dog.”
“I use the woodburn one since I live there and I have never had any problems with my order the staff are friendly and the food is good and amazing priced”
“Stayed for one night - was good for a small trip. Room was clean to a certain extent. Bathroom was a bit dirty but nothing too bad. Lights in bathroom were very dull and flickering. Bed was very comfortable. Overall a good hotel to stay - location was great, right next to a bus stop. Definitely would recommend. Great value for price.”
