The place could possibly do with a little re-decoration but it is a cafe and everything looks clean so I shouldn't complain about the decor as I don't eat my food off the walls! Very good coffee too, coming from a coffee snob that is high praise!”

A special shout‑out to **Pheobe**, who did an excellent job serving my order. The food arrived warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Exactly what I needed after a long day. Highly recommended!”

“The staff are superb. Always polite and welcoming, even at the busiest of times. I'm disabled and in a wheelchair. So the staff are always willing to help me out; carry my drinks and make space for me if needed. It's become a place where other disabled people, like myself, regularly use as the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.”

“My sister & I came here recently for a quick lunch. We parked for free nearby and walked down to The Briggate. It doesn't look that big from the outside but I was surprised how large it was inside. We found a table then I went to the bar to place our order. I don't like using the App as I like to check out what ales they have on offer and I prefer to deal with human beings behind the bar. I ordered a fish & chips lunch with mushy peas and my sister went for a small ham & fried egg dish with chips. I had a pint of Ruddles Best which came with the price of the meal. Amazingly for the two of us the bill came in less that 18 quid. How's that for a bargain. All good!”

“This is a great traditional pub with friendly staff and customers. Very reasonably priced drinks and comfortable, clean seating and tables. It is lovely to have somewhere so welcoming to pop into for a break whilst you are out shopping. Our dog likes it too, thanks”

“Groupon traditional afternoon tea on Saturday 9th June. Had a lovely time bubbly staff lovely sandwiches - how cute are the shapes tea cups and tea pots! Followed by scone and jam and then a huge wedge of Victoria sponge it was all really lovely and a good experience. And if that wasn't enough one of the customers was Mel B's sister!”
