“Lively pub/restaurant, visited on a Saturday so was very busy (would recommend booking if going for food). Was quite loud and a club set up downstairs, ordered food and cocktails which were delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend for some good food and cocktails. I had the bang bang chicken fried rice that was amazing.”

“We stayed at Leeming Wells Hotel for 2 nights and had breakfast and evening meal in The Dog & Gun next door. The food was fabulous, I had rump steak which was done to my liking, with vegetables and chips which were so nice. My son had a mixed grill which he enjoyed with chips and onion rings. Breakfast was lovely, husband and son had full English which they enjoyed. Lovely warm atmosphere in pub and very welcoming. Lovely open fire in bar, very cosy. Prices are reasonable in line with anywhere else. Service was great, waitresses very attentive. It was my third time staying at Leeming Wells and will be back next year.”

“Surprised with joy. After a drive through the beautiful countryside my wife and I stopped here for a drink. Warmly welcomed we took a gander at the menu and decided to order food as well. We were not disappointed. The star of the starter menu is the Fish Cocktail, ample in size and great quality. You might want to just order this as a mains! Portions are excellent. I decided on the Steak and Ale Pie. Good choice, not one of those mince and gravy jobs. This was full of braised steak, tasty pastry and solid chips. Just love the red cabbage side. Jack Daniels Chicken also a good choice. The staff were very friendly from the getgo. Happy to chat and definitely interested in checking everything was ok. Parking ample, including disabled parking. Glad to recommend this venue as a place worth stopping at for food, especially if you are hungry. We'll definitely be returning.”

“Really great place! The food has always been amazing, the price is reasonable, the atmosphere is great. We have been for dinnet and also enjoyed one of their themed nights. The puctures are from a Frank Sinatra night which was wonderful and would definitely recommend.”

“Called into this pub on Friday night, very low prices for the beer, friendly locals and bar staff, good atmosphere, fantastic original 'Oats and Greens' pot stalls in the gents too. A good old traditional pub.”

“It is very difficult to fault this establishment. The food was top class and much enjoyed. We ordered burgers, scampi, and a gammon steak, and all were at the top of their game. They were accompanied by beautiful chips and the price for these were very reasonable. To cap all this, the staff are very friendly, the service was good, there is a pool table, and it is dog friendly. What more could you ask for?”

“What a wonderfully warm welcome we received as tourists visiting on a canal boat holiday. They were very kind and gave us a reservation on a busy night. Food was top tier - I had the cheese and onion with incredible home cooked chips. Staff very friendly and attentive. Absolute gem.”

The counter is well-presented, staff were friendly in allowing me and my family to try a beer before purchase. I got a pint from the tap and drank it outside, sitting in a relaxing environment during the heat!”

It was a very busy Friday night and I'm sure on any other night food would have arrived more quickly. As it were the staff was extremely attentive, we were greeted at the door with a handshake and we will definitely visit again.”

“We had our wedding anniversary party in the Barn at New Quarry House in January. Even though it was cold outside it was lovely and warm inside. Thank you to Paul who helped arrange the event in a calm and courteous manner, helping with the decorations and clearing up after us! The buffet food was great and special diets were catered for. Thank you also to the staff who worked hard. We enjoyed the night and will definitely book New Quarry House for our future celebrations.”

“Fabulous looking pub with a great choice of food. Had the Holy Cow Pie with chips and peasant it was beautiful. Plenty of steak and mushroom filling and lively pastry. The chips were wonderful and could be swapped for mash if preferred. Had the warm chocolate fudge cake for dessert and I can recommend that too. Thank you very much to the staff who were attentive but not invasive.”

“If you like fish and chips and have a healthy appetite I thoroughly recommend the Special and chips. Very tasty and a whale size portion! I added mushy peas, my wife added gravy, both very tasty.”
