“Stopped in for a quick coffee and snack while waiting for a car repair across the road. Very nice servers and a lovely atmosphere inside. I had a traditional turkish coffee with Turkish Delight and a slice of cake with cream. Comfortable and authentic Turk cafe. I would highly recommend, the workmen near me had cooked breakfasts and tea that looked delicious also . You can park behind Checkpoint Autoparts”

“Wow! I’ve been coming to Mama J’s for the past year or two to enjoy the odd cup of coffee but today I decided to go for lunch and try some of the food out. Firstly, I discovered a new part of the cafe which has recently been renovated at the back of the building in a small courtyard but very well furnished. The space is beautiful and very peaceful. The food was impeccable and the quality of the ingredients was very impressive. I ordered a BOB from the special menu and it was to die for. Value for money and I would definitely have food there again. If I could give 6 stars I would. Thank you :)”

“Clean, spacious cafe serving a good variety of food. The tables and chairs were obviously regularly cleaned. I only had a small breakfast but a nice touch was the additional glass of juice that came with every breakfast as well as a tea or coffee. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. A small play area was in the corner to keep small children occupied if needed.”

“I dine here with a friend at least once a week and we absolutely love it. The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. We have breakfast most visits and they are freshly cooked to order. This week we have thoroughly enjoyed their festive menu with different people (twice). Excellent food, piping hot and very reasonably priced. They have an extensive menu and they cater for most people’s taste/preferences. They are happy for my friends dog to accompany us and the fact that many of their customers are regulars tells you everything. They are an excellent asset to our village and for some pensioners a social lifeline.”

“The service and food here was excellent. We arrived at a very busy time and we were treated with the highest quality of service. My husband and I ordered two full English breakfast’s. Everything arrived piping hot and was delicious. Cannot recommend Thyme for Tea enough. You may have to book a table in advance as it is very popular.”

“Maple Gardens: This is a little gem near to our home that we did not know was there…. Until recently!! So we called in and my wife and I had a big full English breakfast with a coffee each. Coffee Top ups were 99p. The food was quickly served up and there was a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfasts were nicely portioned and very tasty. Coffee was excellent. Service was quick, attentive and with a smile. Menu was basic but with some gluten free choices. We spent some time outdoors in the sunshine which was very pleasant with plenty of wildlife close by. Highly recommend a visit and this may become a regular haunt!”

“We came for brunch in the week, with two babies. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and kind. They also have Highchairs for babies, which were clean. The food was really nice. We had the Halloumi special for £13 and the babies had a piece of toast and 1 sausage for £2.50. Drinks were also lovely. The presentation of the food was great too. The seating and tables were all very clean and nicely decorated. I would say the only slight criticism I have is that I'd say the avacodo on the special wasn't freshly cut. It was slightly brown and had a lime/lemon taste. However, we would definitely return and I'd recommend it to friends.”

“This is a classic venue with 60s and 70s vibes tucked away on Railway Road, it's just a great place to get a coffee they do food as well, it's a proper trip down memory Lane with all the pictures on the walls and the music that's played at reasonable level, so you can chat, and you inevitably end up talking to everybody in there, because it's so friendly, it's also a music venue, where he has entertainment on upstairs in the evening at weekends. Overall, this is a gem of a place and it's a shame to pass it by.”

“Wow, best ice cream ever. Service with a smile too. We had just missed the TV cameras by about 10 minutes. I had the Mint Choc Chip and Lemon n Lime so delicious. Definately recommend if you are in the area, cant wait to visit again !”

“Flissy’s is a great place to stop for lunch, tea and cake or a post dog walk treat. The staff are friendly and service is quick. Great choice of cakes and treats and a really extensive gluten free menu. The gluten free cheese and ham panini was really delicious. Great chips too. It’s really dog friendly so great for a visit with your pooch, you can get dog sausages or dog ice creams. We come here regularly and are never disappointed. Would recommend.”

“Outdoor sitting is so nice. Whole garden got it's magic. Green tea was really good quality. This cafe offers coffee, teas, cakes, pastries and even selected alcohol. Certain dishes of food are also available. Everyone in the café was friendly and helpful.”

“Very busy cafe with it's own unique vibe. There is a great selection of tasty homemade cakes. If you want something more healthy, the lunch menu is just as good. It can get very busy at lunchtime, which is a sign they are doing something right. There is a large seating area with tables in the room to the left, or else the stools and window seats by the counter are good for those just popping in for a quick drink. In better weather, they have tables outside, where you can be part of the Hoole street scene!”

“Another place that I've walked past for years but had never popped in. I met up with a friend and found it to have great vibes, quirky decor and lovely inviting staff. While sat down I had to use the WiFi to reveal the QR code contents. I personally love matcha and so to see so many variants I was beaming. I ended up creating a fresh strawberry and cream matcha. It was perfectly made and tasted yummy. There was no pressure to leave either as appreciated we spent some time there with just that one round of drinks we just not had seen each other for a while m I would definitely return anyway!”

“Nice place to eat. The service was quick, polite and the wait time was not very long at all until what we paid for was brought to our table. The breakfast here is great with a nice portion size for the price. As long as this place does not start scrimping on portion sizes it will remain great. Well done guys was well worth the visit ;)”
