“We've booked upon cravings of some good authentic italian meal on Mother's day. Deapite it being a busy night,which was expected, the staff managed the rush perfectly and provided friendly and efficient service. We had tasty arancini and fried camembert. The gorgonzola gnocchi were mouthwatering. Premises had a welcoming atmosphere, and the bathroom was sparkly clean and well maintained. We very much enjoyed and look forward to coming again”

The owner is EXTREMELY KIND! and welcoming which made the whole experience truly special, showing genuine care for my satisfaction. The suya was incredibly flavourful, with a perfect balance of spices, I also loved the jollof with plantain and spicy turkey bites. “Me and the Missus eat here often. The pub itself is a little run down ( cracking pub though ) and we see many people come in, have a look around and promptly leave. They made a big mistake. The food is delicious and plentiful. My current favourite is the Penang curry and I always ask for small potato pieces to be added which they are happy to do. Prices are very reasonable. “I visited Borough Market in June. With the wide selection of options of where to eat, I decided to try Iraqi food for the first time and seriously, it was some of the most delicious food I've had. The flavours are amazing, including the sauces (the mango chilli sauce is a must). I met the owner (Phil) while I was there, and he was a true gent, as well as the other chefs. Also, my wife is vegan, and she loved it too, especially the mushroom chap with the tamarind sauce. Needless to say, I highly recommend Juma Kitchen!”

“Extremely disappointed with this place. I chose this place based on the good reviews, but everything arrived stone cold. The chips were stale and tasted as if they’d been fried in old oil. The shawarma wraps were also a huge let down, the sauces were so tangy and overpowering that they completely ruined the flavour. Honestly the worst shawarma I’ve ever had. I spent £41 and couldn’t enjoy any part of the meal. Definitely won’t be ordering again. Save your £ don't bother.”

Only two small things to fault during our stay - the Aircon seems to reset when u leave the room and was always cold on return , had to turn temperature back up and we had a lovely view but very dirty widows. “I’ve been to many restaurants, those which include restaurants that have multiple Michelin stars. I am super critical with reviews, but I never thought it would come to the day I would say this.. but this food “is food that brings you back home… back home to your mother”. That’s so rare in this day and age and think how much of an expert someone has to be to create that with Thai food for someone coming from Sri Lankan origin. Every ingredient is fresh, the blend of spices, the quality of meat and the food expertly made brings a dish which is truly homemade and delicious. I have never experienced anything that tastes truly homemade from a restaurant outside the home. I feel great after eating this too compared to other takeaways as it’s so natural. This is hands down the best restaurant in St Albans. Kat and her partner are such a superb couple running this restaurant, they are incredibly kind and accommodated to a special birthday request. They both came out and greeted us, which was super kind of them and proved many things but the biggest.. this is homemade food, food made from the heart. You want to try true Thai food.. don’t bother with the £800 flight, come here - to this very place a drive away in a lovely home situated in St Albans and you will experience it first hand.
