“I've just had the chance to try one of the feta cheese "rogche" and I was actually quite surprised that it was way more delicious than the one I last tried back home. Very friendly and charming girls at the till, that make you feel like home atmosphere. “Thank you Winter Bear for beautifully restoring a vintage chest of drawers. Sofie and Will helped with identifying good deals on ebay. Their communication has been fantastic throughout. They also created a colour board so that I could choose the perfect colour. The job took about 2 to 3 weeks which involved painting and changing handles. I will definitely be asking Winter Bear to help with any future projects.”

“After years of use one of our love seats developed a broken zig zag spring! Which meant sitting on it was difficult. I found Love your Furniture through a Google search and was pleased they were based in my locality and also that they were mobile. I contacted Paul and sent photos, he gave me a price and we arranged a date. Paul was happy to rearrange the date and when he came assessed both seats I had, replaced the spring and sorted the sagging seats. End result seats are as new. I would highly recommend him for all your furniture needs.”

“Walked in late lunch. Ordered bacon and egg soft bap. After debating which bread I wanted roll, sandwich or soft bap. Has got to be one of the best and reasonably priced lunch break for a long time. Staff very friendly and willing to help. And will literally go out of their way to accommodate if possible. Amazing service and food”

“I found this little place almost by chance-and I just LOVED it. The food was amazing (price was also very low and portions enormous!), the perfect balance between spice and sour (I had their fermented flat bread with 3 different daals and 2 veggie sides). The owner is the sweetest person ever and it is more than clear that this is not a job for him, but a passion. The place is tiny (which is a pro-makes it cozier!) and super welcoming, with decor that makes you truly feel jumping into the Ethiopian culture! They offered me their typical spice tea: a must have! Just a very lovely experience, absolutely recommended if you love simple and authentic things.”

“Really glad I stumbled on this shop! A nice little corner shop nestled away from the pandemonium of Kings Cross station. Beautifully made schnitzel sandwiches and salads and super friendly staff. The deli has an arrangement of food that suits lunch time. Take away or eat there on one of the tables out the front. I had a pesto schnitzel pasta salad, the pesto was delicious and tasted home made.”

“Absolutely delicious food. Highly recommend the charcoal grilled meats. You will not be disappointment. We had the grilled lamb main and chicken wings this time and the meat was tender and juicy. Will try the other ones next time. Also loved the smoked aubergine purée dip as well. Honestly all the food dishes were great and the portion size are good too. All the food we tried were great but sadly I forgot to take photos of them as was too focus on eating. We tried their house wines and they weren’t bad neither. This is now our new favourite local place to eat and will definitely add this place to our rotation!”

“I've only ever driven through Cheam before my visit yesterday, a trip by public transport (tram and train) from Croydon specifically to visit the Whitehall museum, housed in a grade II* listed former domestic dwelling dating from before the reign of Henry VIII. While the museum is an important place of reference for local history, geared more towards children than adults, it also houses the excellent Freedom Caffe' tearoom. The restrictions imposed by such an old, historic house may mean they can't use a normal commercial coffee machine but the range of soft drinks is impressive and more importantly, the vegan options for lunch are delicious. I highly recommend both the vegan sausage roll with salad and the vegan Greek. Then there are the cakes... The only vegan option on the day was a chocolate pear and apple cake but it was gorgeous and the staff were attentive and friendly and the food reasonably priced. I also noted the fresh pasta preparation. There's more to Cheam than the museum but whatever else you're doing it's well worth making sure you visit the Freedom Caffe' for a drink and a bite to eat.”

It was easily one of the best Modern British meals I’ve had in the city, even better than my experience at the 3 Michelin-starred Core by Clare Smyth. Everything was spot on: the breads, the beef tartare, the salmon, and the desserts (souffle and madeleines) were all beautifully executed and full of flavour. The service was friendly and professional, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, not overly formal, which can sometimes be the case at Michelin-starred places. “If you have never had adjarian khachapuri, have you even lived? The chicken thighs were nice and the mushroom dumplings delicious, but the khachapuri is really the star of the show! Absolutely stunning. It's a decent size and quite heavy, so share between at least two people if you're going for the mains, but honestly as far as I'm concerned it's all you need. I'd come back just for that and have only that. Food was slow to come out but piping hot and fresh when it did, and the service very friendly. I will say that if you're sensitive to noise, make sure to sit outside. The place is very small and the acoustics horrible, so when a very loud group came in it was quite insufferable. But that's the only negative.”
