“I am very sad to report that Maxims has, for months, been closed. There seems to be no evidence that anything has been moved or changed inside. The website states that it is 'temporarily closed' so I do hope that it will re-open very soon. “One of the most wonderful meals i’ve ever eaten- i felt like i was back in Italy. Everything I ate was sublime, so rich in flavor and such large portions for the price. You must get the parmiggiana di melanzane!!! I will be dreaming about this. Both the wine and the melon shots were also divine. The atmosphere is warm and beautiful, with an absolutely gorgeous secret garden in the back. The staff- an italian family from Bologna- were so friendly and attentive. They gave me a tour of the entire restaurant, gave me great recommendations and talked me through all of their dishes. Would go back in an instant. 100/10”

“What a pleasant experience. We were greeted at the door and seated by the friendly "Ben" who anticipated our needs throughout the evening. Ben brought us some complimentary warm focaccia and olives to nibble on while we made our menu choices. The menu has a good balance of dishes and I quickly decided on my choices along with a bottle of Ramaro for the table; I have a soft spot for Sicilian red wine. All dishes were well plated and tasted as good as they looked. The portions were also very generous, perhaps "Mama" was in the kitchen dishing the plates. After the meal, there was little room left for dessert, so I shared a panna cotta with my wife; I have to say that it was the best I've ever tasted. My only regret is that I didn't choose one of the seafood dishes, they looked realy appetizing. My relationship with crustacions has always been one where no matter what precautions I take while shelling them, a jet of oil always squirts out and slashes me on my shirt. Perhaps next visit I'll wear on old shirt or a bib; perhaps both.”

For dessert, the Tiramisu was heavenly — creamy, rich, and just the right balance of coffee and sweetness. Every bite was pure Italian delight! Deapite it being a busy night,which was expected, the staff managed the rush perfectly and provided friendly and efficient service. We had tasty arancini and fried camembert.
