Prior to finding them I dealt with other contractors who were so unaccommodating and generally made the smallest of requests an issue and “not possible”. “Me and my family, a group of 11 people attended O Calhau yesterday for Fado night. It was amazing, my partner lives close by and it was always somewhere we wanted to visit. Food was amazing, the chef was amazing too, she was so welcoming. Being from Madeira ourselves, it felt like being home again. My family travelled far and really enjoyed it too! “My son had a great day out here, he loved the animals and they all looked well cared for. The play areas were all set out over the whole place was wasn't busy. Even during the summer holiday break. He loved climbing high. The water pillows were fun. Although a lot of adults used them as sun beds. The had a paint run and foam party event which was also enjoyed. My only gripe was that you had to book for under or over 5s yet over 5s were allowed in with there under 5 siblings. So it got a little busy and pushy towards the younger ones, as everyone wanted to get closer to where the foam was coming from. The inside soft play was huge and thoroughly enjoyed. Over all was a great day and would likely return.”

There is a really large open space for dog walking, running or sunbathing etc and a track around its edging where a lot of people ride bikes. The children's play area is great. My son loves it. It gad swings, slides and climbing frames for all ages. Definitely worth a visit. It gas a friendly vibe and there is always kids to interact with”

“We went for hanwarth family park that is happening every Sunday for family and children. 2K run every Sunday morning at 9am. Awesome park with leisure centre.”

“Staff great, always pleasant and helpful. We often buy the 2 dine in meal, usually very good, but had the pork belly tonight, and literally there was no pork at all, it was all fat. A one off but won’t be having it again”

“Nice space to play and workout. Use the workout area and it’s usually pretty quiet when I go there. The zip line in the play area is fun and my daughters enjoyed coming here when they were younger. The path going through is nice and it’s a great spot for a picnic too. Nice amount of wildlife and blackberries bushes are currently in flower. Pretty!”

“We’re so lucky to have a lovely local Indian on our doorstep. Each time we have ordered from there our food has been 10/10. It’s so tasty, fresh and we’ve tried to order a different dish each time to savour the different dishes. I tried their mixed grill and it was out of this world. We even received some freebies as a kind gesture to say thank you for our custom. They so friendly too when you place an order and cater for all your needs. Tandoori nights is a favourite for a Saturday night takeout!”

“Real shame this place is closing. Went today for some loft legs. Number of items on the shelf did not match the number on website. Asked a helpful chap who was working in the back, who got the remaining items down from the bulk storage place with a forklift.”
