“I've only ever driven through Cheam before my visit yesterday, a trip by public transport (tram and train) from Croydon specifically to visit the Whitehall museum, housed in a grade II* listed former domestic dwelling dating from before the reign of Henry VIII. While the museum is an important place of reference for local history, geared more towards children than adults, it also houses the excellent Freedom Caffe' tearoom. The restrictions imposed by such an old, historic house may mean they can't use a normal commercial coffee machine but the range of soft drinks is impressive and more importantly, the vegan options for lunch are delicious. I highly recommend both the vegan sausage roll with salad and the vegan Greek. Then there are the cakes... The only vegan option on the day was a chocolate pear and apple cake but it was gorgeous and the staff were attentive and friendly and the food reasonably priced. I also noted the fresh pasta preparation. There's more to Cheam than the museum but whatever else you're doing it's well worth making sure you visit the Freedom Caffe' for a drink and a bite to eat.”

“An Italian style coffee shop. Excellent coffee which is smooth and strong. The cakes are really great and home made. Very reasonable price as well. The lunch options are paninis, sandwiches and salad bowls, plus baked potatoes and priced between £3.50 and £8.50. Cakes £2.90 Coffees around £2-3 with Americano £2.40 and cappuccino £2.70. This is a friendly cafe with outdoor seating and ideal for coffee and cake whilst out shopping or light lunches with friends. A really lovely addition to this fast improving High Street.”

“Very quiet property, safe and secure and amazing location. My husband and l have been staying for over a month and are really pleased we chose to stay here. Very close to the train station, Sainsbury’s, and the Shopping Centre is just round the corner too. Lots of lovely cafes and shops nearby , as well as great value for money , extremely helpful staff; Katie is such a great host and Jamie is always happy to help!
