“Great selection of craft beers both on tap and bottled combined with very reasonable prices. Dog friendly and very friendly overall. Best pub in the area without a doubt.”
“My favourite micropub in the area. Genuinely friendly staff and customers, and a great selection of beers you wouldn't normally find.”
“Brilliant local independent family run, proper old skool pub for drinkers. I'm lucky to live right opposite. Great atomosphere, always friendly. Nice seating area at the front. Very reasonable prices. Try it out! There is no food here, but some snacks and small bites sometimes. Now has a nice garden area at the back.”
“Haven't eaten here but the staff are fantastic, drinks are reasonably priced and the locals are lovely.”
“Ah this is the spot. Not here often enough. Was a few in when I headed for one. Got two as the price was that good. Worth a visit. Guinness is to perfection.”
“We arrived to a stunning display of hanging baskets outside the pub, walked in to meet two lovely hosts who were really jolly and showed us to a table. The meal itself was delicious (and huge, we both had roasts that we had to take portions home) but I think what set it apart was the service. Everyone was so attentive and the aforementioned hosts were making conversation with the guests and showing genuine interest in everyone. It was a really really lovely pub. Highly recommend!”
“Ale, Fire & Charm at The Gipsy Queen – Kentish Town Tucked away on Malden Road, The Gipsy Queen is a proper North London pub with a twist — craft beer, seasonal food, and a log-burning stove that makes winter evenings feel like home. It’s spacious but cozy, with wooden floors, vintage mirrors, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The bar boasts an impressive selection of local and international craft beers, rotating regularly, plus wines, cocktails, and low-alcohol options. Staff are knowledgeable and happy to guide you through the taps — whether you’re after a hoppy IPA or a rich stout. Food is a highlight. The kitchen serves modern British pub fare with flair: think wild mushroom risotto, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, and vegan-friendly options that go beyond the usual. Sunday roasts are particularly popular — generous, beautifully plated, and full of flavour. There’s a garden out back, perfect for summer pints, and the pub hosts live music, quiz nights, and community events that keep the energy fresh. It’s dog-friendly, family-friendly, and ideal for everything from solo reading sessions to lively group dinners. Final thought: If you’re after a Kentish Town pub that blends comfort, craft, and character, The Gipsy Queen is a standout — soulful, spacious, and quietly unforgettable.”
“This pub offers a great range of beers and great service. I can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten here.”
“Visited on a Thursday for Irish music night. The pub is lit with candles. It’s cosy and atmospheric. Music started around 9.30pm and it was traditional Irish music. Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the toilets were clean. Outside garden available if needed.”
“A unique character of a pub. With a great kitchen. Been coming for a while but the new menu is quite something. Try to get there for the taco and margaritas deals.”
“Had a lovely Christmas dinner on Christmas Day , the food was good and loads of meat, bit stingy on the veg but non the less it was good food. HUGE Yorkshire pud. The staff, as always , were amazing so welcoming and friendly , the beer cold and a good selection too. Our stay was only marred by a loud, drunk, loads of money , family who really didn’t give a hoot about anyone but themselves , not The Crowns fault but did mar the event for the other patrons there!, hence 4 stars for atmosphere . We love this venue and will be back many times.”
“Saw Hats off to Led Zeppelin here. They were brilliant. Ticketing system was very well organized. Decent bar and not too expensive. Friendly crowd. The social club is known as the Tropic at Ruislip on band nights.”
“Lovely family run local, rear beer garden and also garden across the road. Plenty of parking. Great service, great beer”
“Only went in for a couple before visiting other pubs and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd never been here before so didn't really know what to expect, and this place was great! Lovely staff, good atmosphere and a decent pint of Guinness. The locals were friendly too. I'd recommend giving this place a go.”
“Came here twice in 1 week, the first time was on Tuesday for some shisha and I ended up having some cocktails that I like that were not on the menu but the bartender made them and they was awesome. I saw some food come out and decided to book a table for Saturday with my fiancée. Cue today (Saturday) and we have both just had some really tasty and freshly cooked food. She had the chicken thighs and I had the lamb chops. Each of the meats were cooked to perfection and were juicy and nicely marinated. Both dishes came with plenty of side salad and you could choose skin or fries or rice or upgrade to sweet potato fries, we opted for white rice and skin on fries, the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, I had the white rice and it was really good although from the portion size I could not finish it all. They also do an option for take out boxes. They do not have disabled toilets but the toilets are big enough to be a manual wheelchair user and access the toilets. They have a lovely inside area, nice and spacious and outside they have a conservatory where the shisha bar is and a garden plus a little outhouse seating area. The waiter staff are amazing and welcoming as are the bartenders. I would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to returning soon.”
“We met friends there an had an amazing visit. The food and service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The prices were very reasonable with an excellent selection of meal options.”
“Wet fish has been here for as long as I can remember, lovely decor and relaxed atmosphere. Came for brunch today at 2pm brunch menu runs to 4pm , very nice, non-fish and fish options I went for scrambled eggs, potato , chorizo & refried beans. I’d like to come for one of their music nights but you have to be organised and book ahead.”
“Had the most incredible Sunday roast today. Incredible beef, fabulous veggies, limitless gravy and the most amazing Yorkshire puddings! Also limitless! Will definitely return!”
“Best Restaurant in West Hampstead! We went for Sunday Roast and had a delightful experience! This family-friendly restaurant was excellent for the kids. The beef sunday roast was exceptionally cooked, and the roasted chicken was filling and flavorful. The squash carror soup was very well balances and something to come back for! Wish it was on the menu all the time! The staff was extremely helpful and helpful. The environment was pleasant. Will definitely be returning! And looking forward to it!”
“We held our Christmas gathering at The Prince Albert and were thoroughly impressed with everything. The food was absolutely amazing, the place itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were fantastic, friendly, smiling, polite, and attentive throughout. Everything was spotless, including the clean toilets, which really shows the attention to detail. It was the perfect place for our celebration. We had a wonderful time and I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended!”
“We booked for a hen-do lunch at the Windmill Inn at the start of our weekend having flown in to London from Guernsey. We were staying near by and the Windmill staff were very accommodating when we arrived early with all our suitcases. The staff were welcoming and patient with our large group, and our drinks and food were all served in good time. They were happy when we played a couple of civilised hen party games at the table too. The food was really good! Lots of choices to choose from with different options to suit different tastes. It set us up nicely for our weekend of partying! Thank you to the Windmill Inn - we all really enjoyed our few hours with you.”
“Five star service and a five star place! The staff is very friendly, welcoming and we were looked after throughout our lunch. The place itself is really nice, cosy and it felt like home. We loved the food as well! We had the sausage, the pie and the cod and all was nicely flavoured and so tasty. It’s a dog friendly place and even our dog was looked after, which we will appreciate. It was worth our car trip!”
“Could not recommend this place more! Food was incredible - the carnitas tacos at are top tier (please don’t tell my wife who preferred the chicken) and how do I begin with the service! Didn’t matter who I spoke to, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I will absolutely be bringing my staff party here for a night out - cocktails are incredible, plus they have every drink we could possibly need. While I appreciate everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, a big shoutout to Sophie and Luke for sorting us an area on a busy night, Luke with the logistics and Sophie with the greatest vibes. 100% recommend coming here for any occasion, food is sublime, drinks the best in Wandsworth, and service top top tier. I’ll see you all very shortly!”
“An amazing little place. Such a great find just off the beaten track of Chiswick High Road. Lots of choice drinks and still reasonably priced compared to the others only for minutes away on the high road. I ate thee and was served by a super efficient barman/ waiter. Who was running the whole show along with the chef on Saturday afternoon. The sun hits the place the whole day round. What a gem”
“I did not think quality pubs like this still existed. Food is fantastic, the beer is kept well and served perfectly, the staff are very kind and friendly. The pub is exceptionally clean. 100% recommend, Richard.”
“Went in the order a couple of drinks for me and my partner at the time, haven’t tried the food there but the service and the atmosphere was very friendly”
