Not the taste of the standard curry sauce you find in every single East London Indian restaurant regardless of the ingredients. The food was fresh, not greasy, delivered hot and delicious. “Great experience, we went with 11 people and it was a lovely meal. We all had starters which came out pretty much at the same time and then all our mains came out at the same time. We used Tesco vouchers and had no issue when using them. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the meal. I would come back during lunch time.”

“The food here is delicious. Came in for lunch and was very happy with the size of the dish, and most importantly the taste. Good quality chicken with a generous free starter of bread with tasty humous/garlic and mint sauce. The prices are very competitive and the restaurant layout is spacious and bright. Lots to choose from the lunch/brunch menu. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Great sized salad with the chicken dish too, tasty rice. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to returning for dinner at some point very soon.”

“Lovely atmosphere from the moment we walked in. Food was delicious and the wait time was very reasonable we didnt even feel like we were waiting. We were served by some really lovely ladies who made us feel very comfortable. There was a live singer while we were there which was exciting. Everything on the menu is halal and they were happy to serve me a mocktail version of any of the drinks on the menu!”

“Really good food and perhaps the best jerk chicken I had in my life. The prices are quite reasonable and can be seen online. The only downside is their service is really really slow and it took us 45 mins to be served out food and it was missing the sauces and sides when it was served to us. Still a five star since the food was so good and the decoration was really well thought out.”

“Unbelievable food! Proper home cooked meal for good value 100% will be back for some winter grub. Good choice of drinks, wine glasses aren’t the best if you’re a wine glass snob like me but other than that can’t complain at all. Really nice pub we will be back. Staff are really friendly but had to ask twice for the bill and still ended up paying at the bar. Only negative to say.”

The food is great, portions are sized well and the staff have always been friendly and accommodating especially when we've visited with friends with the kids in tow. “Came to the owl yesterday, 5 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog, such a beautiful pub, excellent food and drinks and lovely service too, the staff were so friendly towards the kids, even helping them to get the free dog treats from the bar!! “Wow what can I say. The kings oak event team executed our wedding perfectly. We had the best day!! It was honestly the most incredible venue. Paula and Linzi on the day were amazing making sure I was calm and everyone was in place and the day ran smoothly. The food was INCREDIBLE! So many people have said to me it’s the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Christian the toastmaster was lovely! The DJ provided was very good and really friendly! Photo Booth and chocolate fountain were included and were incredible, all the guests raved about them! I couldn’t fault the place. Thank you so much for making our dream wedding a reality, the venue is stunningly beautiful and every last detail is perfect.”

“Saturday afternoon pub lunch in the sun with the kids. 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals came to about £40 without drinks, which I felt was really reasonable. I had the tandoori chicken skewers and it was absolutely delicious. Came with fries, hot sauce, tatziki, grains and salad. Couldn't fault it. My partner had the sea bass which she loved and was a nice healthier option too. Also tried the chocolate brownie which was to die for.”
