“I stumbled upon Mimi’s Kitchen Eat-In and Takeaway for a late lunch, and I’m so glad I did. The food selection was impressive—fresh, well displayed, and ready to go. I had the Jollof rice (absolutely divine) and the “fish platter”, which was perfectly seasoned and sweet, tender plantain. I also tried a bit of my friend’s moinmoin and it was DELICIOUS. (I literally want it right now.) The customer service was lovely too—the server was kind & mindful when my friend asked if the Jollof and moinmoin had been cooked with any meat, as she’s veggie. It’s always appreciated when staff are considerate about dietary requirements. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to make the drink options and their prices a little easier to view—it would make adding a drink to your meal a bit more effortless. But honestly, that’s the only (tiny) thing. All in all, a perfect lunch find!”

“We had the most amazing experience at Hayward’s this weekend. I booked the dinner and accommodation package for my husbands birthday months ago. Since booking, I have had to go on a strict diet for medical reasons. I contacted Hayward’s and they went above and beyond what I had expected by creating a fully bespoke menu for myself, meaning I didn’t miss out on anything and you would never have known the food had been adapted. My husbands food was incredible as well. The service on the night was impeccable, our glasses were never empty and little touches such as the waitress’s ensuring the tables were clean after each course did not go unnoticed. Both were well-prepared: the eggs perfectly poached, the hollandaise smooth and balanced, and the coffee rich and satisfying. “Very nice and clean authentic cafe. They literally cooked specifically for us as many people just came there for a coffee. Coffee is really tasty (it is very difficult to find anything decent in the UK). But our breakfast was delicious! And also beautiful serving. The staff is great as well. The cafe is located exactly in front of the train station so it is a very good place to chill before or after the journey”

“Hawthorn is 100% your new go-to spot in Kew/Richmond. For some background, everyone who I was with for dinner had previously dined at the Glasshouse at some point in their lives, so when we all arrived for dinner at Hawthorn, we were intrigued about how it would compare… AND WOW our expectations were blown out of the water. Not only did we each quite literally lick the plates clean, but we all felt that each course was complex yet also felt so simple and just plain delicious. We heard that the restaurant just opened a couple of weeks ago, but the food tasted as if the chefs have been cooking together for years. Whether you are there for lunch or dinner, either set menu is incredibly well priced (especially when the food quality is at this level). The sommelier is incredible, suggesting perfect pairings for each course to accommodate every taste bud or finding a bottle that works with a table of diners who ordered a mixture of seafood and meat mains! Conveniently it’s also right next to Kew Gardens station or a short walk from Richmond station - very easy to get to and definitely worth a trip. What an amazing new restaurant in Kew!”

“Shared nachos and a sharing selection. Absolutely amazing. The pible was so flavourful, the chicken taco was out of this world and the peach and orange mocktail was so refreshing. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was great from table near the bar, ( no criticism, I was very thankful to be seated away from the main area with lots of people.) From the outside it was so quiet but as you opened the door it was full of people happily eating. Not a drinker but a great selection of tequila and the cocktails looked amazing. Took our churros home as we were comfortably full, ate them later and they were still perfectly crisp on the outside with a nice chewy center. The dark chocolate and chilli dip was lovely, not overly hot but enough to add depth of flavour to the sauce.will definitely return with family”
