“My favourite local Cafe for sure..... Gardens great in warmer weather. I don't understand some of the bad reviews especially relating to it being expensive. Ignore those. Also about the owner being rude. I've live in this neighborhood for 7 years and he very very very lovely and friendly. I can 100% verify this as the best cafe in the area. I love it and come regularly. Always piping hot food, great customer service and very reasonably price.”

“The chicken waffle was absolutely amazing, fresh and flavourful. The waffle was so spongy and was very easy to eat and not too filling at all. You can really tell that everything is made freshly on the day. On top of this the staff is so lovely and very attentive. Will definitely be coming back!!”

“Returned to London after many years and wanted to have breakfast in a proper caff (greasy spoon). The Hope was perfect. They have all the traditional menu options and other variations including vegan options. The owners were so lovely and friendly and up for a chat. Wished we could have come back to try the lunch menu. Cash only. Good value.”

“Went here last Thursday as heard they did a good quiz night. Had a burger and a couple of pints of Guinness zero; burger was top notch, proper gourmet stuff and we really enjoyed the quiz, we somehow won! Only downside was that it was a bit quiet, probably helped us win the quiz though. Staff were great, very friendly and welcoming.”

“Enjoyed my breakfast here. Four or five other guests were present, so not too busy first thing on a Monday morning. My black coffee was great, although a little expensive if I'm honest. My full English was nicely presented and tasted good. Overall it was very filling. I'd certainly recommend this place if you're passing through the High St area of Tunbridge Wells.”

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting 'Pois É' in London to celebrate a dear friend's birthday, and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and ensured we felt welcomed throughout our visit. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each showcasing authentic Brazilian flavors that transported us straight to South America. We started with the 'Coxinha,' a popular Brazilian snack, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with savory goodness. For the main course, I opted for the 'Feijoada,' a traditional black bean stew with pork, served with rice and orange slices. The rich and hearty flavors were perfectly balanced, making it a memorable dish. The cocktail selection was equally impressive. I tried the 'Caipirinha,' Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça, lime, and sugar. It was refreshing and expertly crafted, complementing the meal beautifully. What truly stood out was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed. They even surprised our friend with a complimentary dessert to mark her special day, a gesture that added a personal touch to the evening. The ambiance of 'Pois É' is a harmonious blend of cozy and lively, with tasteful décor and a pleasant background of Brazilian music that enhances the dining experience without overpowering conversation. In summary, 'Pois É' provided an unforgettable dining experience that combined delectable cuisine, outstanding service, and a warm atmosphere. It's a gem in London's dining scene, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic Brazilian experience in the city." Espero que este comentário reflita sua experiência e seja útil para você.”

“An amazing cultural experience! I attended on a Sunday evening where they had a party downstairs with people wearing traditional dresses, a great never before seen insight into a unique culture. The music (from speakers) spoke in a foreign language and so did the people in the restaurant, the art on the walls were distinct, the table mats had character and I dare even the air felt different! A truly transporting experience, couldn't guess I was in Hammersmith from sitting in Elim! The food was incredibly unique. I had the Lamb Z'gni which was very filling. The dish is served on a silver platter (literally) and I got the chance to traditionally eat with my hands which was a pleasant new way to consume food, I noticed I would take time to sense the texture more and by the end of the meal I got pretty good with my hands! The lamb itself was immaculate, soft and melted clean off the bone, I got to suck out the bone marrow which was surprisingly different and went very well with the stewed chilli paste. The taste of the lamb Z'gni had a beautiful complexion of tangy lemony spice that caught me by surprise, the intense taste was extremely pleasurable and combined with the Enjera ( a foamy thin pancake-ish flour) created a well harmonised balance. They provided a complimentary welcome of vegetables which I really appreciated, the dark greens had a distinct sweetness I particularly enjoyed. Being a budgeted student myself, I'd say this £12 experience was absolutely worth it. If you're looking for a delicious unique experience, Elim is a great choice.”

“Delicious food, lovely serving staff, cosy and romantic ambience - dimly lit, fresh table cloths, candles, dried flowers. Although would have preferred a more chill vibe of the music. There’s also a cat called Rosie! And not super expensive and not too small plates (they only explain the menu to you if you have questions and ask and don’t recommend that you get 5 dishes each)”

“Five of us arrived around 6pm I think, on a Wednesday evening in December. It wasn't very busy at that time and they welcomed us. The food was amazing, with good vegan options too. We took our time and at no point did we feel any pressure at all. The staff were very polite at all times. When we left, we realised there were a lot of people waiting at the bar (round a corner, not visible from where we were sitting) for a table to eat at. If we had known that we wouldn't have lingered so long! Impressed that we weren't pressured at all though. Highly recommended.”
