“We can never ever fault this restaurant. Local to us but worth a drive if you live outside Heaton Moor. So glad they are back open after a holiday closure. Just wished they did orders to be delivered although it's no effort to go to the restaurant and see the lovely staff. The food is fabulous and when family come over from Ireland they ask if we can book a table. Book now you won't be disappointed.”

“My partner booked Ela for a surprise date night! It was ‘nice’ .. I asked for olives while ordering my drink and was told no? Thought this was odd! But Nevermind! Order was olives, Saganaki (just tasted like very burned cheese) a trio of dips with hummus, a cheese pastry thing (can’t remember the name) mixed grill, Kleftiko - Wasn’t the best? Watery and flavourless (I had had it elsewhere and thought the same so maybe it just isn’t for me?) not sure I would recommend or go back! But I do know other people who really like it!”

“We had such a lovely experience here. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and really well prepared. The service was fantastic from start to finish – the staff were so kind, attentive, and especially thoughtful in accommodating a disabled person my mum, which made the evening even more enjoyable and comfortable. Their friendliness and care really stood out. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, although on a Friday evening it was a little on the noisy side – but that’s only because the place is clearly popular and full of people enjoying themselves. Overall, it was a wonderful evening, and we left very happy. We’ll definitely be coming back again.”

“Fantastic restaurant serving freshly cooked Palestinian food of a high standard and with lovely warm service that is attentive and efficient. We’ve eaten at many Middle Eastern restaurants and this is one the best we’ve been to. The Knafeh is excellent and ends a wonderful meal. We also loved the freshly squeezed orange juice and strawberry, mango and pineapple smoothie! If only they had Palestinian ice cream!”

“I had many of my friends recommending this place, and when we finally tried it for my birthday - it exceeded all expectations! The service was amazing, very helpful and welcoming. The food was unreal, very unique menu with lots of things to try. We tried a fair few dishes as recommended and I’m still thinking about their pastas dishes. “Amazing. Every time I’m in Manchester I come here. Food is always flavourful, curries and sauces are to die for and I’ve never been dissatisfied. Bread is the perfect texture and has a fantastic fermented flavour :) Price is just right for what you’re getting and the portions are great! Highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried Ethiopian or to anyone who’s looking for it in Manchester. Very very good eat Make sure you have an Ethiopian beer and a cinnamon tea at the end, it is really worth it!”

“Such a great experience at Melis Restaurant Whitefield! The atmosphere is modern, stylish, and very comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. We tried a few different dishes, and everything was perfect. “I asked Ali if he could cater for a family gathering I was having at home. I could not have been happier with the wonderful food that was made for us. Every single item was delicious. The lamb shoulder was super tender, the chicken was delicious as was the gravy made from scratch! Loved the sides. Tiramisu and rice pudding were the perfect two desserts to keep everyone happy! “We ate at Zaytoon for the first time last night and we absolutely loved it. The food was amazing; just delicious. We had the mezze platter and a whole sea bass, and everything was perfect. One of us wanted more lamb and had the kebabs, which he said were delicious too. The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be coming back.”

They do have outdoor seating which will be good for wheelchair and pram user's and the have toilets as well. You must try this vegetarian place. I will definitely be returning.”

“The food here was so good! I’ve tried a few Greek places recently and they were a bit of a letdown, but this might honestly be the best Greek spot I’ve been to. Everything was delicious and fresh. “We booked initially for 10 people but then added an extra 9. The restaurant were very accommodating and did everything to ensure we had the best night. We pre-ordered our food so everything was ready together - one of our party even said how great it was doing the pre-order so we could just enjoy our evening. We were celebrating a 50th birthday and were able to put up a banner and take balloons. The staff were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Now onto the food- which was delicious. All dishes were presented well and were very fresh and tasty - which is how I expect Mediterranean food to be. The mixed grill was cooked perfectly and from what the rest of the party said - their dishes were amazing too. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back. Massive thanks to Mina who did a fantastic job of looking after us.”

The staff are always so friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. My go-to order is Butter Chicken with their garlic naan and perfectly cooked pilau rice. The Lamb Nihari is another favourite - rich, tender and a great portion size! And if you love street food-style starters, the Samosa Chaat is a must-try. On top of the amazing food, the prices are really reasonable for the quality you get. Whether you’re dining in or getting a takeaway, you won’t be disappointed. Super tender lamb & loaded with flavour!
