“Intimate little restaurant serving fabulous food, all cooked on order by owner and Chef, Mandy. The paella is the best I have ever tasted but don't forget to check the specials board as well. When everything is so good it's ideal that it's tapas, perfect for sharing with family and friends. Menu prices are very reasonable and as it's BYOB, you save money bringing your own alcoholic drinks. (Edit ; they charge that small an amount for corkage i never even noticed until they replied to this review) Friendly, attentive staff in a lovely relaxed atmosphere complete the picture, making this one of my favourite places to bring the people that I love. x”

“We had a birthday party here. The room is a great size. The staff are very helpful and couldn’t do enough. Bar prices reasonable. We didn’t have their catering but faculties for our own were spot on! Thank you so much for a great evening!!”

“Absolutely loved it, very quirky all very local ish but good vibes, friendly staff, free pool, outstanding views!vpizza are top notch made to order and stone baked In a wood fire oven! Definitely going back, so highly recommend but get in early to get a seat,as it gets really busy.”

“Just been to heroes of Waterloo for lunch- 5 adults.We had a table in the restaurant. The choice of food was extensive and comparably priced. The portions were very good, well cooked and presented. The food was of good quality. The service was good, flowed well, not long periods of waiting and at the same time not rushed. Surroundings well maintained and clean Good atmosphere. “Went here Saturday at 12.30, it was a table for 4 and we were seen to our table by a friendly waitress, ordered our meals which took about half an hour, which I thought was good and when they arrived they were all piping hot. Couldn't find fault at all like some of the other reviews, will definitely be back. Lovely little pub. Thank you”

“Not had the pleasure for a while but no need to worry. Usual great beer albeit slightly smaller choice. Awesome bar staff;Lucy even remembered my dog's name after more than a year and miraculously produced a sausage to welcome him back! As for the locals I'd challenge even a Tory MP to leave without making new friends! Best pub in Tameside by far.”

“Great place, great atmosphere. Always call in now when on a night out in Ashton, and it never disappoints! Great tunes, karaoke (some good and bad!), everyone's always friendly and always have a laugh when in there, cheap beers and shots what else do you need? Would highly recommend.”

“I had the most incredible dining experience at The Roaches Lock on Sunday! The food was absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding throughout the meal. The waitress kept checking in with us to see if we required more drinks or needed anything else. I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu. “Been twice recently, once for breakfast once for a carvery. Both time the food was fantastic, hot, fresh and tasty. The chef came over both times making sure everything was OK and had a chat when we had finished our meals, bar staff are lovely and welcoming too. “Good value for money food, a decent selection of real ales if that is what you like (a taster offered to my partner so it was easier to choose). Always a friendly welcome from the landlady and bar staff alike. Great quiz on a Sunday night with free sandwiches and beer tokens as prizes. Ps the aforementioned "landlord " is no longer there.”
