“Lovely pub. Friendly family atmosphere, bar staff very friendly and Steven and David always make you feel welcome, they've brought the pub back to life, entertainment good and karaoke lively with plenty of dancing... Also lovely function room. And Stevens food is superb.”

“Had a lovely stay including dinner and breakfast. Food was great, we had the roast dinner which was fantastic value for money at £13.95 a head. Breakfast had a good selection of hot food at the buffet. My only, very personal, preference would have been to have more egg options as I didn’t fancy the scrambled eggs and there wasn’t any other option but the rest was delicious and plentiful. Lastly, but definitely not least were the friendly, helpful staff who really made us feel welcome and valued. Highly recommend the Boat & Horses hotel too as the rooms are big, well appointed and the beds really, really comfy. Well worth a stop off.”

“Been coming in the George for few weeks now after not being here for couple of years. Food menu has changed and is really good. Two meals for £12 on certain days. Can not complain one bit. Bar staff actually have a smile on their faces and make you feel welcome. Quiz nights music pool table live football all a bonus. Dog friendly”

“Took my Rotweiler a few times, it's nice to go in a pub with a big dog and people don't look down on him. The staff give him treats and come and stroke him, always a filled water bowl. Great food & they do dog Sunday dinners which go down a treat for £2.50 & a lovely normal roast dinner too. The food menu has a lot of variety. Brilliant view of the canal from the carpark. We love it here”

“I don't know why, but I've always thought this place would be a bit of a dive and so in the 30 years I've lived here, I've never been in. I'm sorry! However, as Stacked are now cooking here, we gave it a go. The bar staff were lovely and drinks were a lot cheaper than I've paid at other places which was a bonus. The guy on the bar also came over to make sure we understood the ordering process for Stacked which was good of him. Stacked was, as always, delicious and I'll review them separately. The only thing I will say, is that if you think Stacked is good when it's delivered, get down to the Prince of Orange and try it fresh!”

“Friendly helpful staff. Busy for a Tuesday evening which surprised me, but could be because of the lovely weather. Food lovely and plentiful. Very fast service, didn't have to wait long at all. Such good value. Beer garden been done up since the last time I visited and looks great. Definitely recommend.”

“Visited for dinner, we both wanted the pie and chips, no pies left., We then chose fish and chips and they had to check if they had fish. We were about to leave, but they had two left. The food arrived and we were pleased either the good, fish was excellent, large, chunky fish and good batter. The pub was a bit smelly, tables very sticky. Toilets really clean and tidy. Not too busy on a Monday afternoon. The pub is next to the golf course, with a great view. The pub could be so much nicer and it would increase footfall from golfers too.”

“Lovely local pub, spotlessly clean. Barmaids quick and friendly, there is karaoke but on the night I visited (Fri 03.11.23), there was a DJ. Great atmosphere and I enjoyed being there. Would def visit again next time I'm in Manchester.”

“Came in for a coffee for the second time, lovely place. Noticed the manager of the establishment has excellent hospitality skills and is sure to sit and talk to his punters before they leave. spectacular display just very hard to find in 2018. Be sure to visit again 5 stars!! Recommendations for anyone to visit to stay or to just have a relax.”

“The Carousel has recently had a makeover and I attended their VIP opening evening. There was a buzzing atmosphere, friendly staff and taster bites of the menu going around the room. The renovated space is lovely and is a perfect choice for a casual drink or bite to eat!”

“Great Atmosphere, only downfall was the function room pumps were not cold enough to serve the right temperature for lager, eg Crystal. Gold, Diamond. We had to use the main room to be served.....”
