“Today, I decided to adopt a very cute Russian dwarf hamster called Nacho, who is now named Buddy. The level of care and compassion shown to this little hamster by the staff at Pets at Home was lovely to see, and little Buddy is a credit to those staff members' hard work. Pet shops get a bad reputation, but without companies like Pets at Home and their caring staff, what would we be left with? I'm sure Buddy wouldn't have been given a second chance, and my little girl wouldn't have gotten to meet her best little buddy. So thanks!”

“Our Children (five and eight) are excited about adding to our family and have discussed a hamster.... My husband and I went to Pets at Home Bury to talk to an expert and discuss possible options and in particular what pet would be best for our family. We spoke to a lovely lady on the till who called over her colleague Maddie. Maddie talked us through options, and explained the nature and requirements of Hamsters, also looked to understand more about us as a family, how old the children are, how much activity we do, how much available time we have to properly look after and love a new pet. This was so impressive as clearly she wanted to ensure she advised us enough to help guide our informed decision whilst also having the welfare of the animal at the heart of the decision which is exactly what any ethical and compassionate pet store should do! She was engaging, extremely knowledgeable, clear and just so so lovely to talk to! We actually since talking to Maddie, believe that Guinea Pigs may be a better option for us, particularly because the are nocturnal and our daughter is still young, her bed time would be Hammy's wake up time! We were introduced to the available Guinea Pigs, shown a variety of housing options, Maddie explained the importance of nutrition, play, chew toys and behaviours to watch out for too as the Guineas get older. We are going to reflect in readiness for a joint family decision with Henry and Lils, but for now are just so grateful for the time Maddie spent with us. Finally, the Store Manager Raf was really encouraging about ensuring Maddie was recognised for her efforts - he was keen to encourage this recognition of his team and in my eyes, this is really good leadership! “I had looked and rang around many groomers before booking in with smartbreeders, the lady I spoke to was very helpful and everything was covered on the call! I ended up taking her on a Saturday which was better for me but they aren't usually open weekends just that a girl had to make up a day! I’ve had my rescue zeena for 2 months now and had her groomed at pets at home first off but it was not a great experience, it was rushed, she was unfinished and I will not be returning again! The girl at smartbreeders was extremely helpful and profession, asked about zeena and what I want for her! I was worried as the previous groom said she screamed and didn’t like anything with the noise and had just had to do the best she could! Smartbreeders had her for around 3 hours so I went off to do some errand! They done exactly what I had asked for and she came out happy and looking beautiful! The girl even text me to tell me how she was and that she was doing great and to pick up whenever! I highly recommend them! Although it is across manchester 30 mins away and only weekdays I will definitely be using them going forward and will work around it! I will recommend to everyone! See for yourself!!”

“For a dog who just tolerates me when i try to brush him (whilst giving me a disapproving side eye), it seems no trouble for Chloe as she does a great job every time grooming him. She always listens to what we ask for and somehow makes my dog look like hes ready for the red carpet, a look we would never been able to achieve in two hours! Would definitely recommend- shes worth every penny”

“Charlotte looked after our two rabbits whilst we were away over Christmas and New Year. She was amazing with them both, and kept us updated with pictures and info each day. She saw to them twice a day, kept their areas tidy and cared for them like they were her own. She even went shopping to get extra veggies for them when needed. Would definitely use Charlotte again when we are away, and would recommend her to anyone!”
