“Came here after a dog walk at teatime for some food with the dog. Had Thai food and it was absolutely lovely. Sat by the bar with the food as we had the dog and absolutely loved it. “Just visited for the second time today after a brilliant experience and food the first time. We walked in as advised as they were fully booked and managed to get a table. The food was delicious and they were great dealing with our fussy 4 year olds requests. We had the carbonara and a pizza and thoroughly enjoyed both. The decor is fab too and all the staff were fun and welcoming. We'll be back again!”

“We returned here for a meal this evening whilst visiting the area and we're very glad we did. It had been 5 years since we last ate here and we were worried it wouldn't live up to the standards we expected. How wrong we were. We arrived and were offered a table in the window. Service was excellent, not rushed but also not so slow that you were wondering what was going on. We had the Houmous and Tatziki startets which were delightful. Main of Kofta and mixed Souvlaki, both of which were well cooked with the meat lovely and moist. If you're in the area I'd highly recommend this little hidden gem. I'm just looking for another excuse to go back.”

“Visited today, with my friend and my toddler. They didn’t have many options for kids but that’s fine as my son was more interested in a sausage roll from the bakery. The food me and my friend had though was absolutely delicious, really well made. The coffee was really good quality too, a really well made cup of coffee not burnt or too hot.”

“We love it at The Hale Pizza Express. We come on a weekly basis knowing we will be warmly greeted by Massimo. The food is always perfect and tweaked to our liking. It’s a nice touch knowing our order and having personal conversation. Couldn’t recommend Massimo and his team of friendly waiters and top notch pizza chefs enough. 6 stars”

Always beautifully prepared, stone fire cooked pizzas and they have a twist on the dough balls to what looks like a square pizza and then you take a closer look and its Nutella and biscoff wrapped in dough and cooked throughout. Absolutely gorgeous. Such lovely staff.”

“My wife and I came for lunch, having previously visited for drinks a few weeks ago. We are trying all the local eateries as we will shortly be moving here. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and it all seemed very well organised. The food was excellent and we both really enjoyed the Sunday Dinner menu which was available on bank holiday Monday. Decor is really nice and the pub has a welcoming feel. Nice to see dogs are welcomed in the bar and garden areas. Will most definately be returning”

“Cracking place in an up and coming area of Stockport. Great vibe inside with plenty of seating. Good selection of food on the menu with gluten free option. Cocktails and wine choices. Service was quick, friendly, Wendy was just lovely and made us feel looked after, thank you! Lovely style of decor with art and lighting. Food was great and tasty, well presented. We had the tapas and cocktails. The squid was delicious! Very reasonably priced. Definitely going to return and good start to the evening before walking into the centre for drinks in other bars.”

“Outstanding pub. Situated a twenty minute walk, depending on fitness, from Kearsley train station. Walk is downhill there but obviously uphill back. Easily accessable from Farnworth by bus. Child and dog friendly. Lovely country pub decor, with a main room and little quieter nooks at the front. Bar is small so there will probably be queueing. Said to be one of the top five pubs in Bolton area and I heartily agree. I had a wonderful chilly con carnie and my wife had the cheese and onion pie, she said it was the best homemade cheese and onion pie shes ever had in a pub, amazing chef & staff and we should know because weve been in quite afew. Car park and beer garden at the back. Beautiful setting”

“The Birches is a very welcoming pub, great atmosphere with an open fireplace to warm any weary traveller. A great selection of beers and larger, I had a glass of their Australian Shiraz, which was very nice; much nicer than what is usually served in pubs. Food is served using locally sourced produce. It is traditional, very well cooked, and served on nice warm plates. Recommended to all.”

“First class! I booked here for my 50th birthday and had a great time. The manager had kindly decorated the tables so that it felt like a party. Even though our tables had to be socially distant they still made or feel special. The food was good excellent. They had made platters of mixed starters for each table that were huge portions and delicious. Everyone was really happy with their main courses. The calzone is enormous! The octopus pasta superb! I can’t thank them enough for the service, welcome and food. I think I’ll be a regular in future!”
