“Helen street chippy is a fantastic chip shop in peel green. Located on the corner on Helen street. Parking is street parking only but I've never had an issue finding a place. The staff are nice. There's a cold drinks fridge at an average price. The chips are lovely. Two types of curry sauce. Always hot and tasty food. Would recommend and I'm a regular customer here”

“OMG what a great night had by our family and friends . Superb food , all the dishes were hot and SO tasty. Really enjoyed the wine too . Definitely the best tapas I have had in memory. The staff were very attentive and helpful. I'm looking forward to our next visit . Ok more photos from our 2nd visit and not disappointed great food again lovely atmosphere and staff .”

“Delicious meal. I had the tandoori lamb shank, on the recommendation of the waiter - the meat just fell off the bone and was served with a very flavoursome gravy/curry. It was lovely to try something different / enjoy tandoori cooked meat alongside a sauce. I would also recommend the tandoori mushrooms for starter, again very delicious and something a wee bit different. The service was fantastic - friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lovely sense of passion for the food and experience. Thank you for a lovely evening, we'll be back to try something else from your menu!”

“One of my favourite places to eat in the whole of Manchester! I genuinely went 4 times in one week before they closed for Ramadan. The food is: fresh, filling, flavoursome and SO tasty. A really unassuming place, very humble but this is what restaurants should be - the food should do the talking and the decor shouldn’t distract. I’ll be coming back here soon! The service was really friendly and though small, most tables were occupied on a weekday night and it had a great cosy vibe.”

“We had gone for a beautiful walk in this village and came across this beautiful restaurant. Unknowingly we went there without booking a table but the hospitality was amazing. The food was top notch with amazing presentation. Loved the food especially the lamb chops and jerk chicken. Recommend this place.”

“We went for the classic afternoon tea. We usually don't like the top dessert layer but this was the best one we ever had. The food was fresh. Scones just out of the over. The service was attentive but not overbearing which is the perfect balance. I would recommend it to try the alcoholic drinks too they had a great collection. Not many tea options but the ones we tried were very good quality with nice taste. A place we would definately re visit when they change the menu.”

The food and drink are great - amazing selection whether you're a vegetarian or not - but what really sealed the deal on both occasions I've been here is Joanna. What an absolutely fantastic host. Great memory, and very personable. The food is awesome - on every occasion I've been here it's been incredible. No matter how busy, the staff are attentive. Place is well laid out. “The place to go in Royton - and Oldham for that matter - for craft beer. The menu is always changing with great choices from various breweries from across the UK. The atmosphere is always good and you're always given a friendly welcome. The food is great too, be it the in-house burgers or the various street food vendors that come into the kitchen, too.”

“The service from jess at the front of the house and james in the kitchen was excellent. The beers were refreshing, and the food was exceptional. My steak was one of the best I've tasted, the highlight of my visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting.”

“I love it here. I come all the time for food and/or drinks. Every time the staff and experience is brilliant. The cocktails are unique and inventive. They also do happy hour on the cocktails and oysters! Food is lovely and creative too. They change the menus seasonally, which means you get to try lots of different stuff each time you visit.”

“Really nice lil cafe, friendly staff, the coffee here is amaaaaazingly good a must try also the food looks top drawer!!! Chris and his partner the owners really nice down to earth people, if your in Uppermill pls go find this lovely lil hidden cafe entrance is on the front and go downstairs really well appointed estab sit on the river and forget about the daily grind also some under canope seating if the weather's not the best.”

“My wife and I visit Scona every Sunday morning for a treat whilst our kids are at a local yoga class. The scones are AMAZING, obviously, but so are the breakfasts and drinks. Excellent service, too. Roll on Sunday! :)”
