“Went here with a friend and our 2 young children. Had a great cup of tea and a chicken, mozerella and pesto ciabatta. Was lovely! I was too full to try the cakes, but they looked amazing! I could sit down and enjoy a nice lunch and a hot cup of tea whilst the children played in the little secure play area within the cafe. Katie is lovely and was a pleasure to be served by. Will definitely be returning again.”
“Lovely tastes, very fresh ingredients, huge bag of salt and rosemary chips with aioli on the side. Highly recommended for proper burger fans”
“Fantastic café on the harbour side. Very friendly service, great tasting coffee, delicious cakes and a nice area to sit and watch the world go by... what more do you want?”
“Destination for a cycle ride. Lovely warm welcome. Perfect service. Lovely sausage roll, lemon & ginger cake and coffee. Very clean. Especially the toilet. Really worth a visit. We will be back. Thank you.”
“Friendly service even right at the end of a busy day. Great coffee and GF cake. Delicious sausage roll. We revisited based on our last great experience and it was just as good”
“What a lovely find. Food good priced and top quality. Highly recommended.”
“Had an excellent brunch on a drizzly Saturday morning - coffee was good, food looked and tasted delicious. Lovely staff too. My BBQ brisket was delicious, and friends had vegetarian options that they also devoured.”
“Peqceful 4 mile walk from the Basin to the marina (1 ½ hours), perfect for walking (dogs included, on leads) & bike riding, spots for fishing Can see the Cathedral from a few places, a couple of roads to cross Cafe at the Basin, comes in handy Close to the train & bus station 12 checkpoints (12 couldn't be found), but by the time you reach the marina, you're basically at the end Swans, ducks & moorhens scattered across the canal”
“Went for dessert withy family, served by Elysia. Gave excellent recommendations and was prepared to have a laugh. Would recommend. Also they take blue light card 20% off.”
“Very nice Sunday roast with grass-fed beef. Better make reservation before visit.”
“This cafe is absolutely lovely. Attached to the main gallery. Cafe has three different seating area option, main dining room, courtyard (if the weather is nice) and the little lobby area of the gallery. Cafe is dog friendly which is perfect. We loved everything we ate. Fresh ingredients and flavour. Sparkling elderflower was really refreshing and not too sweet. Very good service as well :)”
“Eight Cask Beers, four real ciders and lots of Keg Beer a hidden gem that it's taken me a while to visit but I will visit again every time I come for work as the selection is very good and bar staff very friendly especially with the group before me who where new to the non run of the mill beers and needed some guidance, definitely a place to visit.”
“Popped here for lunch and we chose from the set menu which for 3 courses for £22.95 is such a bargain. The food was excellent, the ambience lovely and the service was impeccable. Can't wait to go back soon.”
“Arrived too late for their exceptional scrambled egg on toast but the meat and vegetable pasty was delicious. If you park on the estuary beach, choose a table with an appropriate view as the tide comes in quickly. The main car park is a few hundred yards away but you'll pass an interesting craft shopping arcade en route. Car park has two EV Chargers but I didn't need a top up. Mer. 7kw. 56p. Cafe is popular and has a reasonable menu but breakfasts only until 11am. Not outrageous but some do "all day" Great ambience and superb views. Highly recommended.”
“Service was lovely.. VERY quick and friendly.. the food was amazing.. can honestly say the best Mac and cheese I have ever had.. I would highly recommend !”
“Don't get caught out as we were. Friends had raved about the boathouse but we were disappointed by the small selection of cakes , rolls and panini , BUT it was the best panini we had ever had AND we then on leaving we discovered we had gone into the Boathouse cafe not the linked Boathouse restaurant right next door. We will just have to revisit. :)”
“Big breakfast is to be recommended, very tasty, very fast, very hot, good old fashion banter with the staff. Reasonable prices.”
“Hands down, the best coffee shop in probably a 50-mile radius. Great tasting coffee, staff that care about what they do, delicious cakes, and really well priced. I use their ground coffee at Home, and won't go anywhere else for coffee on the go when in Chichester. Just fantastic.”
“Simpli FAB pastries and great coffee. The quality of the pain au raison I had, reminded me of the best French pastries. Freshly made, high quality and light not the stodge long life stuff you find or cheap wholesale versions. Great coffee too. 3 small tables outside if you're lucky enough to grab one and sit enjoying life in the sun.”
“Being in East Wittering has been amazing and the coast is so relaxing this time of the year. Special shout-out to Dominie and the team for some great atmosphere and hospitality. They even made our dogs welcome, I would definitely recommend and will be back in the new year! ✨️✨️❤️”
“I travelled from Portsmouth to West Dean, and the journey took 43 minutes. I strongly recommend avoiding the motorway and instead enjoying the entire route, which offers opulent countryside scenery. Parking The parking area is rather hidden and can be tricky to find. If you’re using Google Maps, don’t turn at the first entrance for West Dean that it shows. Instead, carry on a little further and take the next street on the same side — this will lead you to the parking space. Entrance There are a few signs, but none clearly indicate the entrance. Look for the West Dean Shop, as this is where you can purchase tickets (£13 per person). The Garden The garden is beautiful, and there’s a large mansion on the grounds, although you cannot go inside. This left me wondering why the entry price is quite high for just access to the garden. Our group of six, including children and elderly visitors, all enjoyed the outing. Exploring the grounds will typically take 1–2 hours. Restaurant There is a restaurant located right next to the shop, where you can buy drinks, ice creams, and meals. Tips If you bring your own picnic, particularly sandwiches, it makes for a very pleasant visit. During my time there, most of the visitors were elderly, giving the place a calm and relaxed atmosphere.”
“We just stopped by after a long journey to grab some food and we had a lovely time! Really kind staff, massive portions for reasonable prices and a good range of outdoor seating options too! Really recommend this pub!”
“Stopped here for some food after a winter surf, as soon as we walked through the door the staff were so welcoming and friendly, service was quick, food was delicious we had the fish and chips! Atmosphere was calm and lovely to enjoy and the establishment was spotless clean very great place to eat! Will be back again :)”
“What a wonderful welcome at this delightful country pub! We had walked miles and were enormously hungry. The food was plentiful and delicious and the lady who served us could not do enough. Don't hesitate if you're passing.”
“As always a very warm welcome. Lots of lovely choice and generous portions. I got a massive portion of delusions nachos with lots of toppings And the kids as always enjoyed there ice cream”
“I love this new cafe! Come here for your morning coffee and you shall not be disappointed! Bask in the sun at a lovely corner tucked away from the winds before you continue your sailing or paddleboarding journey to the quay!”
“Local produce with a smile, every day of the week; what’s not to like about that! We spent four days in Compton so tried the cafe for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. It passed the test with flying colours! The cafe added a lovely flavour to the awesome West Sussex countryside… We’ll certainly be back….”
“Went for lunch after a walk round Bosham. Warm welcome on arrival, we were shown to our table and we quickly received our ordered drinks. Food was excellent. Plenty of choice on the menu and specials board. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.”
“Stayed here for Three nights while attending Goodwood Festival of Speed. The accommodations were great! Cozy bed and very clean room. Ate at pub for 3 Dinners and breakfast every morning! The food was amazing! Chef Harry does a wonderful job :) Sam and Don were great, attentive hosts! Locals we met there were super friendly as well! I HIGHLY recommend Richmond Arms! Trey & Leslie”
