Also pubs and couple of restaurants nearby for evening meals. If you like national trust, there's a quaint place called Little Morton Hall worth a visit. The hotel was run by lovely people, and the breakfast can't be faulted. We will definitely stay there again”

“The best oat cakes in Leek, lovely friendly staff and when I asked if they could make me a ham salad sandwich to take hiking, they included some Mini Chocolate Creams. “Came here for lunch and had delicious food. I had a regular size (which was a decent size) pizza Arriba, which was delicious! The dough is fantastic, I like a doughy pizza and this one delivered on that. The toppings were really generous, too. I did ask to change the chorizo to nduja, which was kindly done for me, although after ordering and paying, I was then told there were no peppers available. Not a biggie, but I think it's fair to be told things like that before paying. My wife went for the Mancini pasta, which she said was also delicious. Especially the mushrooms in the dish. I tried one and agreed that the flavours were incredible. They taken on the flavours of the chorizo and were just so moreish! She said it was only warm, though, and could have done with being a bit hotter. The drinks we ordered they didn't have in stock, and I got the impression they maybe don't stock what's on the menu as they had other beers (although they didn't have it available to buy, just had one on display) and wines that weren't on the menu, which again isn't a biggie, but a little strange. The staff were friendly. We paid just over 32.50 for the pizza, pasta, glass of wine, and a beer, which we felt was fair, especially as the food was so nice. Overall, we enjoyed the food and would go back again.”

“We came on a date night and it was a great experience. I had heard that the place had changed hands and I thought it reasonable to give it a go. I'm so glad that I did. The food was lovely, no issues there and brilliant portions (and more than happy for you to take leftovers home!). However, the star of the show was the service. The gent was lovely, attentive without being overbearing, but also willing to pop in suggestions when asked. The best service that I've had in a long while.”

Whether it’s a cuppa and a piece of delicious cake with the girls (the rocky road and chocolate brownies are a particular favourite) or lunch with my daughter it’s so lovely to get a smile and a bit of chat from the team. The cheese scones are delicious, my daughter loves the cheesy oatcakes and you can’t go wrong with one of their specials.....especially a meat and potato pie. My hubby loves a good breakfast on the weekend too. It’s a family affair for us just like it is for the team there. They treat you like family.”
