“We were on the lookout for a spontaneous dinner and drinks spot and were pleased to stumble upon The House of the Rising Sun. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood out—they made sure we were accommodated even though we didn’t have a reservation. Since it was a last-minute night out, we ended up seated at the high chairs, which were a bit uncomfortable, especially if you’re dressed up (like in a tight shirt dress). The interior design is impressive—stylish and atmospheric, though a little too dim for dining. It feels more like a place that’s tailored for drinks and conversation. One standout feature is the bar with its aquarium-style backsplash—absolutely eye-catching. We tried the Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Katsu. The katsu was excellent—crispy, flavorful, and definitely best enjoyed with rice. The beef, on the other hand, was slightly chewy and not as tender as expected. For drinks, we had the classic Mojito and their signature cocktail, Land of Smiles. The latter was a highlight—refreshing with a unique spicy kick that really elevated the experience. Overall, The House of the Rising Sun is a lovely spot for a date night, especially if you’re after a cozy ambiance and creative cocktails. We’d definitely go back—hopefully with a reservation next time!”

Let me get started about the 5 star quality of the pizza we ate because it was absolutely delicious. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Massive appreciation for the hard work you guys put in.”

“Lovely place. Very good food, not done with lots of oil but full of flavour. Friendly staff. Good amount of seating for the size of the place. A few places to park near. Customer Lavatory available (disabled Friendly). Would happily return to dine or takeaway, same we're not local.”

“Came here for lunch and had delicious food. I had a regular size (which was a decent size) pizza Arriba, which was delicious! The dough is fantastic, I like a doughy pizza and this one delivered on that. The toppings were really generous, too. I did ask to change the chorizo to nduja, which was kindly done for me, although after ordering and paying, I was then told there were no peppers available. Not a biggie, but I think it's fair to be told things like that before paying. My wife went for the Mancini pasta, which she said was also delicious. Especially the mushrooms in the dish. I tried one and agreed that the flavours were incredible. They taken on the flavours of the chorizo and were just so moreish! She said it was only warm, though, and could have done with being a bit hotter. The drinks we ordered they didn't have in stock, and I got the impression they maybe don't stock what's on the menu as they had other beers (although they didn't have it available to buy, just had one on display) and wines that weren't on the menu, which again isn't a biggie, but a little strange. The staff were friendly. We paid just over 32.50 for the pizza, pasta, glass of wine, and a beer, which we felt was fair, especially as the food was so nice. Overall, we enjoyed the food and would go back again.”

“On a training course in Nantwich and tried Basmati. Great place in the old railway station building. Was recommended the Naga, as I like some heat and I wasn't disappointed. Very tasty, and the naan was enormous. Excellent service too.”

“Eggettes is such a gem in Keele! The bubble tea tastes amazing—easily some of the best I’ve had. The shop is cozy and full of adorable decorations, making it perfect for taking photos while you enjoy your drink. It’s a great spot to hang out with friends or just relax. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially Jesslyn Yeom, who went above and beyond to make our visit special. Plus, everything is really affordable. Highly recommend checking it out!”

“This place is fantastic. The food is delicious, cooked beautifully, melts in the mouth and is perfectly seasoned and spiced. The portions aren't so big you can't finish them, although the food is so good it's hard to imagine leaving any. The service is that perfect balance of attentiveness where you are never waiting to get a server's attention, but they aren't hanging around you. The staff themselves are such lovely people, it really makes the experience. Booking isn't necessary but if there are a few of you, worth while. Highly recommend.”

“Alright so I am seeing a lot of negative reviews and I’m not trying to discount them at all but feel I must write an honest review. I have not ordered pizza, burgers or fried chicken but I can tell you that the kebabs are absolutely blinding! We regularly order the chicken special kebab, it is around £20 with delivery and feeds two big eaters… it has a ton of very juicy chicken that has a really nice marinade, a load of really nice doner meat, decent chips and certainly one of the signatures here, a good amount of really fresh salad, red cabbage, lettuce, onion etc. Just to stress, some of the reviews mention they don’t give enough food; in my experience they are overly generous, a small doner with chips is even larger than a large at most other places around here. This place is great, they have indeed had issues with quality before and they immediately fixed the issues after a few weeks of receiving feedback. Delivery for us usually takes between 10-20 mins, the quickest (Though we are just down the road) was 4 mins from ordering, straight to my door. It is my go to takeaway for kebabs!”

“Really enjoyed having a little stop at this cafe for a drink. In the centre of town just off the main area it’s big enough for maybe 25 people with various tables inside and out. Toilets on site and it’s wheelchair accessible too. They allowed our dog in as he was well behaved. Lovely service and very friendly. We had a couple of cream teas with great clotted cream and home made scones - it was a great time thanks”

Good disabled access entry from the main street out of the car into the building. Please make the staff aware of your needs when booking your table. The Crown carpark is at the rear, a quick 2 min walk over the road well sign posted and it's only a £1 after six Thank You for a great evening and we will be going back.”
