“Very friendly staff. Extremely clean and the food was outstanding. Would highly recommend. Fantastic staff who make you fell welcome!!”
“Afternoon tea as a birthday treat all arranged by my son who lives in Australia. A perfect afternoon for my sister (who was in on the treat) and myself. Good choice of sandwiches, savouries, and cakes. Very pretty crockery, as much tea as we wanted. The service was excellent. We bought some of the cake home as there was so much. We have been here before and will certainly go again. As an added extra, my son arranged for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered during our tea.”
“Had a jacket potato with cheese and beans. Amazing value for money, really friendly and accommodating staff. My go to place for lunch when I'm in Tamworth.”
“Good breakfast. We came quite late in the day, she threw on an extra egg. And the lady gave us each a sample of brownie and cake too. Lovely people”
“I went here based on one review that said the breakfast stick was 'insane'. It certainly was, and for £6 was pretty decent value.”
“Great little place run like a military operation by a group of lovely local women. Enough seating inside for about 20 people and a couple of seats outside. Was sat and served really quickly and had a nice full English. Nice atmosphere about the place too.”
“One of my new favourite places to go. Ordered from slim chickens twice now and cannot fault it. One thing I would say is that the portions of fries are generous. My first time ordering I paid for extra fries & received the same amount as my friend who didn’t. The portion was more than enough though so I wouldn’t spend the extra £3 again personally. Love the toast too, perfect!”
“We did Tamworth Castle Grounds parkrun on Saturday. This lovely little cafe is just by the start/finish which had a roaring open fire burning inside. Unfortunately, it is quite small so we had to sit outside to enjoy our breakfast as not enough seating for our sizable group (but we did keep popping into to stand by the fire and warm out hands and smell the wood smoke!) Great value breakfast, and loved that you could have mushrooms on your bacaon or sausage sandwich, often not an option. And the small Full English included black pudding and coffe at just £6 Definitely recommended! (of course we also made a film of our day, you can watch that here: https://youtu.be/QMBA4nHzhkU )”
“Always love it here. Great food. Soft drink and alcohol. Recliner seats. Plus Costa Coffee.”
“A lovely restaurant, the staff were friendly and helpful, loved the atmosphere, the singing along to the radio and the old songs gave it full ambience. The restaurant felt very welcoming, and relaxing, and the food was to die for! Having travelled afar over the years, we all said that this was the best for food that we’ve eaten, the mega breakfast was mega, and my god it was a joy to eat it, the paninis were also delicious, and this establishment is certainly one we will visit again.”
“Delicious well presented food freshly cooked to order. Served nice and hot which is important to me. Nice clean premises which is also a must. The prices are very reasonable too. The staff are really welcoming and I highly recommend this café.”
“Must visit, great food , helpful staff without any wait at all.”
“I must admit, I only popped in to use the cash point, of which there's 3 and all working, and the toilet which was fairly clean for 7.00pm, it looked busy, plenty of working tills and staff in sight. The trolley parks were tidy and a large clean car park. I cant comment on much more.”
“Popped in for quick lunch. Had the chicken tikka which was lovely. Staff were polite and the cafe was tidy.”
“Lovely place, have lots of great milkshakes. Not sure if card is accepted here but milkshakes are reasonably cheap.”
“Cliffords Cafe in Polesworth : Where Time is a Suggestion Seven out of Five Stars (The Scale Cannot Contain It) In an era dominated by artisanal sourdough and oat milk lattes served in reclaimed terracotta, Cliffords Cafe in Pol stands as a magnificent, defiant monument to the way things should be. This isn't just a café; it's a sensory immersion into a highly specific version of coastal Britain, circa 1993, and we are blessed to be its devotees. Stepping into Cliffords is like being wrapped in a blanket woven from the aroma of frying bacon, damp dog, and industrial-strength floor polish. The atmosphere is less "curated aesthetic" and more "everything we've owned since 1985, artfully placed." The décor is a stunning collision of plastic tablecloths (wiped clean with the dedication of a professional chef, yet retaining the ghosts of countless jam spills), mismatched mugs, and local notices thumbtacked over other, older local notices. The Architectural Marvel of the Toastie The menu here is a masterclass in clarity. There are no pretenders, no spiralized vegetables, and definitely no "deconstructed" anything. You are here for the classics, and Cliffords delivers them with the gravity of a papal decree. The Toastie, in particular, deserves its own monograph. It is not just toasted bread and cheese; it is a thermal insulation device, a pocket of molten dairy sealed into a crispy, golden rectangle. It demands a four-minute cool-down period before consumption, as the interior temperature is scientifically engineered to cauterize any latent dental issues. The chips are golden, plentiful, and retain a perfectly crisp exterior—a triumph of frying oil technology. Service & Philosophy The service at Cliffords operates on a beautiful, Zen-like principle: "It’ll be ready when it’s ready, and not a moment before." This is not slow service; this is forced meditation. It encourages mindfulness, prompting you to truly appreciate the simple things, like the sound of the kettle boiling, or the sight of the same local fisherman reading the same local paper he was reading yesterday. When your mug of tea arrives—a brew so robust it could probably strip wallpaper—you feel a profound sense of accomplishment. If you require chrome finishes, silent service, or a charging port at every seat, you misunderstand the assignment. Cliffords Cafe is the real deal: a beacon of greasy, cozy, unpretentious perfection. Go, order the largest portion of something fried, and allow yourself to be transported. You'll leave feeling full, warm, and profoundly grateful for the lack of irony.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Outstanding service and warm atmosphere at The Deanery Café From the moment we arrived, the experience at The Deanery Café was nothing short of fantastic. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and genuinely attentive, something you don’t find everywhere. A special mention goes to Daisy, our waitress, who was absolutely brilliant. She was handling multiple tables and customers with ease, like an octopus with eight arms, yet still managed to make us feel looked after. She even offered water for our dog, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel truly welcome. The food was excellent, and the coffee hit the spot perfectly. We couldn’t fault anything. The atmosphere was relaxed, cosy, and dog-friendly, everything you’d want from a local café. We’d come back here a thousand times. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Tamworth!”

“When the sun is out, there is little that beats drinking a cup of Bake180s coffee in the setting of the Courtyard at Middleton Hall. The staff are lovely, the food menu is extensive, prepared in the cute kitchen next door. Best of all, the coffee is prepared with care. Very tasty. Thanks Katlin!”
“Asda Driver here, have been delivering to these guys for years and they always take care of their drivers by offering them a hot drink which is greatly appreciated especially during the colder weathers. Staff are really friendly too. I think it's about time I visit this place as a customer and not a delivery drop off guy and what better time than the festive season? Merry Christmas No. 18”
“Lovely friendly staff :) Tasty well priced good Good location for local offices, organisations Love the added bonus of tv and seating areas”
“We have recently tried the Sunday carry-away from Christopher Tamworth, and they are an absolute delight! The food is worth every penny, and the taste was amazing. The gravy was so good that you could practically drink it straight from the pot. And I can’t forget to mention that their sticky toffee pudding is the best I’ve ever had. The quality and flavours exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend giving their Sunday dinners and puddings a try; you won’t be disappointed!”
“Hidden gem in Tamworth, me and my wife popped in for a breakfast and a cuppa and we’re greet by a friendly smile, there wasn’t a long wait for the food and it came out piping hot, the quality of the sausages and bacon stand out and it was all cooked to perfection! How they serve a breakfast as this calibre for the price they charge I don’t know, well worth a visit!”
“Excellent cafe full of eclectic memorabilia. Great food and drink and it's English not American, who knew these places still existed. I've become a regular here. Definitely worth a visit.”
“We haven't been here for quite some time but were SO pleased that there has been no decline in food, quality or service! Afternoon Tea is a real favourite of ours and we were not disappointed! Had a lovely selection of finger sandwiches, had to box some up so we had room for cake(s). The cakes can make or break an afternoon, we are cake based lifeforms, and my goodness we weren't disappointed. The most delicious huge piece of Pistachio & Rose Sponge, a huge Scone/Cream/Jam and a generous squidgy Chocolate Brownie. My husband managed Sponge & Scone but I was defeated at Sponge, a lightweight. Giving us another box to take home to enjoy at teatime tomorrow. Couldn't have chosen a nicer place to celebrate our anniversary and my first day out since surgery. Left feeling comfortably stuffed and in agreement we will be back much sooner next time.”
“We use Food For thought for our Business Lunches.... They offer a tasty mix of Veg and Meat sandwiches incl Chicken & Stuffing, Beef, Egg salad and cheese, hot and cold sides such as Prawn Tempura, Scottish Eggs and Jalepeno Dippers, along with Fruit and Juice. Always untime, always tasty, very recommended! :)”
“We went for winter wonderland and weren't disappointed. It was absolutely brilliant and we'd definitely come again, there's something for everyone! From snow play to a pantomime and Christmas music, it put us into the festive spirit, the decorations outside were amazing too! We were gifted our tickets via Acorns Children's Hospice and the disabled access was amazing too!”
