“Amazing food and great service! Very welcoming. We have visited a few times and it never disappoints. Definitely become my favourite Indian! Great work to Vikas and the team!”
“Nice place for dine in, taste is good. A variety of dishes available. Service is good. Well decorated place but ambience is not that great. Sitting is too congested. Little bit pricey. Overall we enjoyed the food.”
“We visited Akbar at Bradford leeds road served by the name of MO. We all family happy by the service the food and atmosphere. MO looks after all of us until finish. Delicious food nice people. We are happy to back again and recommended others.”
“Friendly staff. Good food and drink. Very reasonable in price. Best curry house in Bingley. Revisited last night after refurb. They have a £9.99 3x Thursday and Sunday special on which is really good value for money. £6.99 for kids. Really enjoyed the food, the staff were really excellent with the service and the place was buzzing.. very busy.”
“Great atmosphere and service. The staff are always welcoming wether we're eating in or getting a take away. The food is good and reasonably priced.”
“Just had a takeaway delivered to our holiday home. The gods honest truth,it was the best Indian meal ever. It had the 'burn',that lingered just right. Back in the north east, they can't even touch what we had tonight. My salute to you gentlemen,we will never forget how good it was! 11 out of 10 !!!!!!”
“My visit to Shimlas was an excellent experience from start to finish. The food was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Each dish had that signature Shimlas taste — rich, authentic, and full of spice and aroma. The grilled items were juicy and tender, the curries packed a punch without being overpowering, and everything arrived hot and fresh. What really made the experience stand out, though, was Sister Qamar’s exceptional service. She was warm, professional, and attentive throughout, making sure every detail was just right. Her welcoming attitude created a lovely atmosphere, and she handled everything with genuine care and efficiency. It’s clear she takes real pride in both her work and the satisfaction of her guests.”
“Was recommended by a friend so I thought I'd give it a try. I've been enjoying a curry for over 50 years in the heavy woolen area and I can honestly say it's one of the best takeaways I've had and I've tried quite a few. It reminds me of the Shama in Dewsbury I frequented in the 70s. I've had 5 from here and each meal was spot on. Top quality ingredients and generous portions. Well done Shama, my go to curry house from now on!”
“Fantastic food, excellent staff. Very rapid and professional service. Couldnt recommend more.”
“Great, iconic restaurant in Central Bradford. I went for lunch. It wasn't busy. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was beautiful and inexpensive. Fab. I massively over ordered, having a mixed starter, then a chicken biryani and a chai. Could easily have done without the main because the starter (pictured) was huge.”
“Looked after us for an iftari meal. 14 of us and they arranged for us to come at a time when there wasn't the rush which was appreciated. Been meaning to try this place and the meat masala was soo good. Will definitely come back. Thank you.”
“The staff here are so friendly! They go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need for a great experience. You don't feel rushed at all. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. It has a lovely family atmosphere! If only they did delivery!!”
“Excellent food, as always; tasty, and good value. Friendly service; and the owners are rightly proud of their 60-year family business, a proper Bradford institution.”
“Had the tawa, plenty of food for the 6 of us, and it was all tasty. The service was very good as well, the waiter was attentive and quick to help. Definitely recommend and will be coming back myself.”
“Have visited here regularly with my family for years. Some of the best customer service we have experienced and we are always made to feel personally welcomed and appreciated. The food is always delicious and the restaurant is always a relaxing atmosphere. Toilets are beautifully designed and spotless. Thank you for a consistently enjoyable experience!”
“Wow – what an absolutely outstanding experience we had at Kiplings in Sowerby Bridge! We came as a group of 7 from work, and honestly, from start to finish, it was nothing short of perfect. I can hand on heart say it’s one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. First off, the service was next-level. The staff were genuinely lovely – friendly, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. The manager in particular was a total gem. He spent so much time with us, chatting, having a laugh, and just genuinely making sure we were having a great night. His banter was spot on and he really helped bring such a fun, relaxed atmosphere to our table. You don’t always get that kind of personal touch these days, and it just made the evening even more memorable. What really impressed us was how they catered to everyone’s individual spice preference. We all like different levels – some mild, some full-on fiery – and they nailed it for each one of us. It’s not often you get that level of attention to detail, especially with a larger group. They even took the time to show us how ordering a simple pickle tray could completely change the flavour profile of your poppadoms and chutneys – honestly, it blew our minds. I’ve never had anyone explain that before, and it made the experience so much more interactive and interesting. Now let’s talk about the food... to die for. Genuinely. Every dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and the portion sizes were massive – like proper hearty plates of food. No one left hungry, that’s for sure! You could tell everything was cooked fresh and with care. From the starters to the mains and the sides, everything was spot on. And here's the cherry on top: if you get there before 8pm, they do an Early Bird Menu – 1 starter, 1 main, and 1 side for just £14.99! Where else can you get that kind of quality, service, AND value? It’s honestly unheard of. The quality of food you'd expect to pay double for elsewhere. All in all, I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. Whether you’re going for a casual meal, a work do, or a special occasion, Kiplings should be at the top of your list. We’re already planning our next visit – and next time, we’re bringing even more people. Hats off to the whole team for delivering a truly top-class evening. You’ve gained seven loyal customers for life!”
“Very fast service. Friendly staff. And i think prices are quite low for these modern times. Definitely one the cheaper side of restaurants. Would return to try other menu items”
“Amazing food, very delicious! ⭐️ Perfect service. We highly recommend to everyone. We definitely comeback!❤️”
“Great ambience & yummy fresh food. Mr Mumtaz ensured that all the guest were taken care. He did check on all guests/tables personally visiting them and getting feedback. Very rare these days, were most of the restaurants are business oriented and lack hospitality. Food was delicious, freshly prepared. Restaurant itself is cozy and has ample parking behind. Better to reserve before visit. Highly recommended”
“We decided to stop by for a quick curry before heading to the fireworks in Elland tonight. We were not let down! We opted for the buffet. Poppadoms, followed by the hugest mixed starter for two (which we couldn't finish!) and a choice of six different main dishes with sides, at a bargain price! We couldn't fault the service, hospitality or food. Go and try the buffet yourselves! We will be back.”
“A taste of homely tasty biryani. I tried chicken biryani.”
“Cheap and cheerful Really good quality homecooked food The place is like a truck stop cafe and the staff are polite if not friendly, but the chicken and meat masala were both great”
“Lovely and clean place, staff are very friendly. Food was amazing taste so good. Will recommend this place.”
“First time trying this place food was very fresh not greasy chicken was very tender shami kebabs were on point very pleasantly surprised will definitely be ordering again well done village balti. Curry just needs a hint more spice but very good quality. :)”
“This place is a great buffet restaurant. Is has free parking on site. The deco is very lovely and inviting. The variety is good. I wouldn't say it's huge but I actually like that, you don't need 15+ mains a good selection of the favourites is plenty. The quality was very good for a buffet restaurant. The starters even included fresh lamb chops, ribs and chaplis, which you don't see in many places. The Somosa chaat station was fab and even had a lovely chicken corn soup.. All my favourites. I would say the music was very loud unfortunately. The staff were a bit fussy about their bowls which was very odd. They had these tiny bowls which they would only give for ice cream. I wanted to give my toddler a bit of jelly in a bowl but they will would only give it on a plate and wouldn't give me one after I tried to convince them, in the end I had to get ice cream and then put the jelly in myself lol..she would have dropped the jelly all over the table if it was on a plate. My hubby tried to get a bowl for some mint sauce so I can dip my starters in.. Again they would let him and he kicked off and got one in the end.. It was strange and didn't understand why they were so reluctant to give out these plastic standard bowls. Apart from that the experience was lovely and price was a bit more that a standard buffet but not too bad. We paid £88 2 children 2 adults with some drinks. Had a prayer room too which was a bonus”
“Just had the most amazing curry from here. Massive portion enough for two . Comes with extras and sauces come in a foil tray so lots rather than in little plastic containers. Ordered off just eat and arrived ten mins early. Shocked by all negative reviews .”
“I have been to this restaurants many times. My experience is not disappointing at all. They got decent enough choices of starters main and desert as well as free drinks as well as tea. If you like Indian foods and want to try different varieties without breaking your wallet. You will love Anam Review update. Hosted a family event at the weekend for 100 people. Great experience food was spot, fresh and delicious”
“It's delicious food ever must be try”
