“Outstanding food! I only discovered this place a few months ago but I've been here twice now and both times the food was incredible. The selection is great, it's well priced and the service is excellent too. Highly recommend the bagels, the Texan one with brisket in particular, but the roast beef one is also delicious and so it's the gochujang pork belly. The cakes are also very good.”

“This place is just perfect. We went for a lovely but chilly walk and finished up here after wanting to visit for ages and we weren't disappointed. Even from the outside it's special, and when you walk in its just a lovely fuzzy welcoming feeling of awesomeness. No.54 has so much quirky character, but natural, not forced. We sat at a beautiful, old arty table by the window and ordered full breakfasts. Everything on the plate was cooked perfectly and using great quality produce. I want to go back already, and can Imagine it being the perfect venue for a little celebration. Service was warm and friendly, and there's plenty of food choices to suit everyone. Resisted the cakes this time but I don't think that would happen next time!!!”

“My first visit with friends after work, and I was blown away with the service, value, quality of food, and a great atmosphere. This place was packed on a Thursday night, and I can see why. £12.95 for a two course meal is fantastic, served with a choice of good value extras, and cool Peronni on draught. I would highly recommend this place, and I shall be returning soon.”

“Great spot for a spot of dinner. I had homemade cottage pie with onion and cheese mash topping, lashings of gravy, chips and peas! Absolutely massive portions. The cafe had a lively atmosphere with plenty of locals and tradesmen coming in for coffee and butties. The staff were brilliant; polite, courteous and very accommodating. If you're looking for great quality food at a reasonable price you can't go far wrong with Care @ 19!”

“All I wanted was a soup to go . If you have ever requested this , from anywhere . It's not also available. Even rarely. There was tomato and chilli which I have. With brown bread and plenty of butter. Just how i like it . Or chicken and sweet corn . Again another top soup I would choose. Then the sweet slice . Mint cream . I had to get it. And the display then just shone. Everything looking more delicious then the next . I ended up choose a honey comb , road or something and a chocolate covered flap jack . And of course coffee to go”

“As in the area popped in for breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised large breakfast as pictured £7.00 was cooked fresh and everything was hot unlike a lot of cafes. Sausage budget however was edible. I would visit again if in area”

“Halal chicken! Highly recommended! My son loves pizza and we found this amazing pizzeria inside the Market. Small but mega place. The menu is quite extensive, but we knew that we wanted magarhita, when we learnt the chicken is halal we bought cheese and chicken dough balls and chicken Pasta! Really nice to have a San Pellegrino Limonata with it all. We ate inside. The customer service was great. The young lady was really helpful and served us with a smile. It was a little cramped but that added to the atmosphere of the place. My 4yr old son ate 2 slices which is loads for him and we took the spare pizza home! We're very satisfied! I'm not from Halifax, but we'll defo be coming back for its price, service and taste!”

“A very warm welcome for a group of hikers wandering in late on a Sunday after finishing another segment of the Pennine Way. The roast was fantastic, our starters even better! (tandoori chicken I think? So goooood) Hardly had room for dessert, but theSticky Toffee Pudding really did top things off nicely. The drinks selection wasn't large, but what they had was great. But truly the biggest stand out from the evening was the friendly hosts!”

“VISITED AUG24 and congratulations to the new owners. Still excellent food and amazing value for money. Was offered a complimentary garlic bread to start which was lovely.. within 30mins of arriving the place was packed and buzzing with customers. Total bill came to £60 with tips and that included wine. Such good value for money. RECOMMEND 5* Love this place. Amazing staff and owners.. colourful restaurant and above all amazing food. Take away pizzas also.. thank you”

“Have visited several times after a walk round the Tarn. Small, but busy, friendly place on the High St. Staff always cheery and helpful. Great choice of coffees, and nice size cups. Pastries, cake and snacks available. Haven't had one yet, but looking forward to trying one of their tasty looking bagels soon. Best to park in the Tarn car park, which is close by.”

“Buon Apps is situated in a beautiful location next to the River Wharfe. The food we had was of a very high standard, and we were really impressed by the service. The restaurant has a great vibe about it and feels very authentic. Prices are slightly above average. There is a small section inside the main restaurant where you can buy genuine Italian chocolate and biscuits. Buon Apps comes highly recommended. There is ample car parking right next to the restaurant.”

“PERFECT! There is no need to repeat that word because it applies to EVERYTHING. Desprate for a nice breakfast after landing at Leeds Bradford Airport. Googled for an all-day breakfast nearby and struck gold. No waiting, seated straight away, the atmosphere is perfect, very relaxing. Ordered straight away and served very quickly. What you see in the pictures of the food is what you get, very well presented by quality staff. If you have not visited yet, when you do, I think you will be returning.40-minute drive for us, but we will be calling again. The Corner House puts many larger restaurants we have been to, to shame. Visited Murgatroyds a couple of weeks ago. They were worth a 3.5 > 4.0, a 15% refund required there. Felt like paying more for what we received at the Corner House. Give them a try.
