βHad to make several visits with Minnie in last three weeks to have various tests and she has been diagnosed with Diabetes, needing insulin twice a day. I was quite taken a back by the substantial costs l have had to pay for everything so far, for the consultations, the treatment, tests and medical equipment l had to purchase. I was expecting to pay, but not as much as I have done, and this is still ongoing. Having said that, I could not fault the excellent service and attention Minnie has received so far. 30th July 2025 - Had to visit the vet again today as Minnie is not eating well and still drinking a lot. I had concerns, because I wasn't sure of the amount of insulin dosage l should give her. I phoned them yesterday afternoon and was told that I would receive a phone call that evening, as the vet was at another practice .I did receive the call, and they suggested they would make appointment for today, as vet wanted to see her. I was very grateful for the quick response. Vet did some more tests today, and her glucose levels were much to high. They want her to be monitored, and suggested she spends a whole day with them under supervision, so she goes in on Tuesday next week. I cannot fault the attention they have been giving her, and I can see that they care about the animals and do all they can to help them live the rest of their lives in comfort and painless.β
βVery pleased to have these vets in our village. You really get the impression that they are there for the animals first and foremost. They are also very competant and kind and whenever we have needed an appointment we have managed to get one of the day. They address any concerns the owner may have and we have found them to be very trustworthy, prioritising the most ethical and most cost effective option over monetory gain or unnecessary treatments or interventions. We like this veterinary group very much and are pleased that they are so local to us.β
βFlossy has been really taken care of during a recent surgery to remove 3 lumps. They were kind, caring and considerate of our needs and listened to our concerns. Would highly recommend and I wanted to say thank you for everything!β
βWe have had such a brilliant experience from the first phone call, right through to post surgery. A wonderful practice, in a beautiful setting. The team are so friendly, professional and helpful in every aspect of our journey with our dog, Thea. I would thoroughly recommend them.β
βReally great and helpful vets. Would highly recommend.β
βCrossways vets at Steyning are always extremely helpful and friendly. The vets are excellent and they always know the answers to my questions. They understand the bond you have with your animal and also how you worry when they're not well.β
β2ND UPDATE As always, imogen is the only person that Paco will allow to do his toenails, he is abit of a fairy lol. Always receive 5 star service from crossways. Over the many years of owning pets I have used many different vets but not one comes close to Crossways over last 15 years. I would never use another vet surgery. They truly care about ensuring their clients and the owners are getting the right information specific to their pet. My last bull terrier, Angel, had several strokes before getting dementia, and the only reason Angel continued to have such a great quality of life was down to Imogen and the work she put in ensuring everything was right. When Angel was almost 15 years old, we had to make that decision to put her to sleep, and imogen was there to do it as she always was, and even wrote a little tribute to Angel on the blue-cross rememberance page. We received very personal handwritten cards from Imogen, Chris and Maxine which we keep next to Angels ashes. After losing Angel we rescued another bully Xena, and she too will always be treated by Crossways, and they always go above and beyond. We took Xena in just other day as she was poorly, so I asked the vet if they would also do blood tests just to make sure everything was OK for my own piece of mind. Turned out her red blood cells were very high, but she is now back to normal. So Crossways don't treat owners like we are over the top, they are so understanding. As Xena is getting more and more stressed out with having toe nail clips now, I requested that she is sedated for her next clip, because of the state she gets into and they immediately agreed this would be better for Xena. If you have questions, they are always happy to provide info. So, Crossways for me are the best around. UPDATE1 Sadly we lost princess xena in jan 2024, on 26th March 2023. Dan gave our 2 new 4 year old bullies a full checkup as we had just picked them up from their first home and provided us with lots of options for their skin allergies. Fantastic service as always. THANKYOU TO THE ENTIRE STAFF AT CROSSWAYS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR OUR PETS.β
βWe had to bring our dog in for an emergency appointment, very early on a Sunday morning. Sadly, we had to have Harry put to sleep later that afternoon, but care and pain relief was given to him so we could take him home for one last walk. The team (Hannah and the lady on reception) were so kind throughout what was undoubtedly the hardest day of our lives, saying goodbye to our 15 year old dog. The gave us the time and compassion we needed. Our usual vet seen him the previous morning and said nothing was wrong, we brought him here and he was scanned immediately and diagnosed. I know for sure Iβll come here if we ever get another pet. Thank you again for your care and empathy throughout, it made this difficult and traumatic time that much easier. I should also thank you for the card you sent to us later that week.β
βI visited Heath vets to register my pet with them and move away from our previous veterinary practice. I was greeted by two friendly ladies at reception, Jodie dealt with my enquiry and was so friendly, kind and helpful. A lovely practice and lots of parking too. Friends highly recommended Heath Vets to me, I was very happy and impressed with the services they offer and the great customer service.β
βSo happy I moved my dog to this veterinary practice. Such kind vets who really care and listen and they always do their best to keep the costs down.β
βFirst visit with Whimpy Westie for booster. Very clean premises, staff friendly and welcoming, efficient and helpful. Ted impressed with attention and treats and didn't notice injection going in. Fees clearly displayed on website where appointments can be booked.β
βWe are very pleased with the care and attention our dog has had at St Anneβs Langney branch, the receptionists and vets are understanding and nothing is too much trouble, they are caring and considerate to our dog and ourselves.β

βOur Sprocker was referred to Coast Vets by St Annes Road Vets for surgery for Ruptured ligament in his left hind leg. Thanks to Rob and his team Koko is now back to his usual lively self. I highly recommend the Coast Vets teamβ
βI have always used Crossways for my dogs, over many years. They are professional, caring and informative. My most recent dog (rescue, badly abused previously) is very nervous, Imogen and Kirsten have been amazing with him, building up trust in the most caring and gentle way. Would whole heartedly recommend.β
βWe changed to this surgery recently having lost confidence in our previous vets. We've had two different appointments with our spaniel and we are so happy we made the switch. The vets are kind and informative - they give you all the facts and help you decide on what's best for your dog which is not something I've experienced before. Id really recommendβ
βGreat vets. Car park. Easy access. Friendly staff and always great service from the vets.β
βExcellent as always. So nice to know that my cat, Lucy, who is diabetic, is always in the best hands.β
βDalyan my rescue pulls me in the vets every time which is great I know itβs because he thinks he getting a treat but also Luca the Vet is lovely with him. Very thorough but gentle with it,β
βI seem to be visiting the vets way too often for my liking, I have 2 dogs and they seem to take turns not being well. As always the team are compassionate towards my pets, are thorough and are happy to spend the time diagnosing and explaining my options. Whilst not cheap (what vet is?) they try to minimise where possible the costs incurred. I love having a local vet a couple of minutes away with a 24 hr emergency also on my doorstep should the need arise (which it has more than once). For these reasons for me it is good value for peace of mind.β
βWe have been taking our cats to Catβs Whiskers for around 11 years now. It is so good to go to a cat only vet where the waiting area is calm and there are no dog noises! Amanda is an excellent vet, quiet and calm, the appointments are never rushed and are very thorough. As mentioned in previous reviews, you do have to join a pet plan but if you have pets, you owe them that at least. This way they get regular, preventative health checks and are always up to date with flea and worm treatment and vaccinations. I am more than happy to recommend Amanda and her team who all do a wonderful job of making you feel at home, and every effort is made to make the experience as comfortable and stress free as possible for the cats and their owners.β
βThey booked me in the morning I called, and saw to Ruby straight away. Very professional, knowledgeable, and absolutely lovely & caring. Felt Ruby was is the best of hands.β
βThis practice never let's our families pets down. We've used them for the last 15+ years - visiting both the Woodingdean and Lewes branches. The reception team are knowledgeable, polite and efficient. The practices are immaculately clean and vet Mark Allaway is the most knowledgeable and kind veterinary surgeon that we could wish for. Would 100% recommend Cliffe vets.β
βTook our Staffordshire Bull Terrier for a health check. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were seen on time by a veterinary nurse. A full health check was completed, very caring and thorough. She listened and put our dog at ease which made the whole process easy. Thank you.β
βI have no negative comments to say about this practice. Receptionists are friendly polite and understanding, All treatment advice from vets has always been the right choice. Despite being fully booked, They were able to slot in an appointment for my Shadow when he needed to be seen. Can't thank them enough for the care and understanding they have shown.β
βAmazing care for our puppy who was vomiting, explained reasons, treatment, costs and reassured us he would be well cared for by staff.β

βMeridian Vets are absolutely brilliant- Larissa has been looking after our kitties for years and sheβs just fabulous. Sheβs kind, considerate, professional and empathetic- all our kitties are and have been rescues, sometimes with a traumatic past so this has made a big difference to their care. They all love her ! All the other vets weβve seen over the years have been great too and the nurses are fantastic and caring. The receptionists are brilliant- always kind and understanding . We would highly recommend this practice- Thank you Meridian for looking after our beloved pets xβ
βAlways fantastic here looking after our 2 dogs Bertie and Stan. Have been to several vets over the years and these are definitely the best in my opinion. Never disappointed or let me down. Highly recommendedβ
