“Came across this place when I first been to Brighton and ever since have been my go-to for Japanese food in Brighton. The katsu is served authentically, crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside. Their ramen was delicious as well, but nothing very notable. Their bento boxes is an experience. Especially the unagi bento. I have tried several of their sashimi and sushi, all were delicious and most importantly fresh! They’re quite generous with their portions. They have seasonal menus which are delicious every time. Their lunch set is such a great deal, £12 for a very fulfilling meal. It’s a small point but I love that they have proper tea here and it’s delicious. In the pictures are the tonkotsu ramen, hama shioyaki, salmon platter, strawberry matcha dorayaki, and pork katsu. Apart from the food, the atmosphere is really relaxing with the warm wood furniture, low light, and soft Ghibli music. The service is excellent. At this point, I have and will be coming back again.”

“I was greeted by a familiar, cozy environment and friendly staff. My order was the #2 Tokyo Tonkotsu, a serving of edamame, and the melon ramune. The rich, savoury black garlic oil blended perfectly with the hearty broth and created a homely bowl topped only by Japan itself. Overall 5 stars, would come again.”

“At the beginning of October 2025, I attended a wedding photography convention and masterclass in Brighton called Thrive, organised by Photography Farm. Ahead of the convention, Robert and I decided to spend a few days exploring the city, and that’s when we came across Pho Brighton. What a wonderful discovery!!! The food was absolutely excellent, rich in flavour, fresh, and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere felt joyful, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We would wholeheartedly recommend Pho Brighton to anyone visiting the city and looking for a lovely place to eat. A real highlight of our time in Brighton.”

“Although we didn’t have sushi, this place is a gem and a delight, it was recommended by a friend at work and I can say it’s highly recommended by me. I had udon noodles and pork with prawn rolls. Service was five star with friendly and knowledgeable staff it’s a warm and inviting atmosphere and just on the right side of cozy. I drove all the way from Croydon although I was generally in the area but would drive back there for more of the delicious udon noodles and to try some of the super looking sushi. Book up if you can the service was quick and with a smile always makes things better.”

“My mother and I visited this place on the 09.10.25 during lunch time hours. We were greeted with a beautiful smile form a young lady that was very happy passionate and welcoming. She designated a very nice table with a good view by the window overlooking the best view. All other staff were very kind and attentive including the restaurant owner . The atmosphere was nice with great menu selection and very good music playing in the background. The young lady was efficient and always took care of my mother's needs and even spoke in my mother's mother tongue spanish. The food was great, always well presented and very delicious. We had alot of fish dishes and they were tasty and well cooked . Overall it was a very pleasant experience lovely restaurant very clean on a beautiful sunny day. Upon existing the restaurant we were very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of everyone working that day.Also the lady owner was actually near the entrance she very nicely spoke to us briefly with a smile and said our goodbyes. “Highly recommend. They went out of their way to make me a fruit tea with black instead of green tea even though its not something they do, when I asked if all the fruit tea was with green tea. The service is impeccable; the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing a great dining experience. What makes La Tana stand out even more is that the entire kitchen team is Italian, which really shines through in the quality and authenticity of the food. You can tell every dish is cooked with love and dedication. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Italian cuisine in Brighton. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”

“Really Happy Me/aki. This wholesome place is one of the reason I come back to Brighton every year in May (The Great Escape Festival being the main reason;). Their sushi burritos are delicious (my current fav is the Sweet Chili Chick £7.80). The concept of the restaurant (non-profit) and costs transparency are great too. It probably would be my favourite take-away on earth if they ingredients were local, seasonal and organic products (but I’m well aware that’s currently pretty hard to set up).”

“Vegan sushi burritos!! Would recommend this place to anyone. I had a nori burrito, which is so different to anything else! So healthy and tasty! Would also highly recommend the salmon options. I'd never found a vegan one I'd liked, and the one my partner had was very tasty! Lovely atmosphere, really relaxed and cute decor. Very reasonable price! Lovely people working there. One of the staff gave me a taste of the ponso mango before I made my choice!”

“A hidden gem! I first visited Noodles Soup many years ago and instantly fell in love with the delicious food and humble eating experience. So reasonably priced and lots of choice, image is of the pork which was super yummy (the beef noodle soup though is a staple ofc). 100% recommend”

“Amazing family run Italian restaurant!! My boyfriend and I happened to stumble across this restaurant this evening and we were extremely impressed- from the service, to the atmosphere, to the food it was 5* all the way through. We were both made very comfortable upon arrival and noticed that our lovely waiter made extra effort to make note of our names and to make sure we were all okay throughout our meal, something I have not received at a bigger restaurant chain. It really did feel like we were treated like we were members of this family! As for the service, it was very quick and the presentation of the food at mamma Mia’s is PHENOMENAL! I had a beautiful sea food risotto which I will whole heartedly say was the BEST risotto I’ve ever had. From the flavourful sauce to the fresh mussels it was perfect! My boyfriend also enjoyed his chicken pizza and commented that he has never experienced a pizza like the one at mamma Mia’s. I had the panna cotta for dessert and the food just keeps on getting better, it was so creamy and the sauce tasted amazing! I highly recommend mamma mia’s if you want an authentic, cozy and welcoming Italian restaurant. We will definitely be returning and I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!! “We ordered 4 different dishes, all of which were absolutely delicious and tasted about as authentic as any Thai food I've had in the UK. The portions and price were all perfectly reasonable. The service was also attentive and polite. (The downstairs seating area did smell a bit damp and mouldy but luckily we were sitting upstairs). All in all a fantastic meal.”

“Three of us had lunch here last Thursday. This is a local Italian restaurant that is far superior to most Italian restaurants. The food was cooked in front of us with fresh ingredients. It was far nicer than most Italian restaurants and excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. We will definitely return and highly recommend it.”

“Come here because of the Google reviews and we was in the area. We live 5 hours away. Almost walked past the entrance, what a cute little place! Both mum and daughter was lovely, daughter was friendly and bubbily. Me and Mrs both ordered toasted sandwiches which where very very nice. All real food. Cooked perfectly. Had a milkshake and iced frappe. Both very nice. Lovely outdoor sitting area on a nice day. Price is as expected for a small family run place however felt it was worth it!. We probably won't be here again as don't pass through often. So felt a review would be a good way to thank them for the amazing lunch and service!”

“This is by far the best and most authentic Thai food I have experienced in the UK! My wife is half Thai and has lived there and even she was amazed at some of the dishes available here that we haven't found anywhere else except Thailand itself. Its a BYOB, which we didn't mind at all. There is a corkage fee but it wasn't over the top by any means. The staff were lovely and were very quick to accommodate anything we asked for, including things like providing small bowls so we could share a larger soup like a starter and other random requests. If you are a fan of Asian food or especially Thai food and can get over to this restaurant I cannot recommend it enough! The venue is small, however, so it's best to book in advance as there's no guarantee you could get a table otherwise.”

“Very good Japanese tapas restaurant in Brighton Preston Street. This is a good quality restaurant located in the heart ot Brighton's food district. Well spaced tables for Covid19 and order by forms minimum contact. Great cocktails too and the service I received was excellent. Great menu with lots of choices and nice decor.”

“It doesn't look very promising from the outside but I was persuaded by the good reviews to give this place a try. Excellent fish and chips - I ordered huss, which was meaty and full of flavour, as it should be. Huge portion of crispy chips. I saw a sushi order being collected and that looked excellent too. A great local, family run place which I plan to return to. One warning - they don't take cards, so you either have to pay cash or arrange a bank transfer which is a bit of a hassle. .”

“Hands down my favourite takeaway. The vegan range is absolutely brilliant and all delicious. I think I am addicted to the vegan yasai fried rice! My Mum came down from the midlands recently to visit and ordered the chow mein which she said was the best she'd ever had. So much so, I have just ordered one for her to take up there with me tomorrow!”

“Small but comfortable cafe. Its tucked away but id been meaning to try it for a long time. Good sized portions and bot unreasonable prices. The staff where polite and efficient. The sausages where tasty and bacon smoky! The coffee was good too. If I was to have one criticism I would say the tomato catchup watery and the bottle obviously been reused many times. Still it didn't detract so much from my meal which was lovely.”
